No progress what.so.ever.
Its really hard to focus on my story when I'm fascinated with all the new, shiny items I bought for my avatar!
However, I'm getting there. I have the first half of my story mapped out.

Also, my wrist is throbbing like a poisonous hybrid spider bit it.

I wish the guild were active again, with at least ten people. That would be amazing.

I started writing a gaia fanfic where all the users get sucked into the game. Its been a fun time. I'm limiting myself to twenty pages, and so far I'm at nine. I probably can't wrap the story up that quick, but I can try.

Distractions are always good, especially the shiny/glowy ones. (don't let me near led's)

As for your wrist, I hope it stops hurting soon. If anything, that should be your excuse why you're not writing.

And I'm still amazed at how much you write..

Are you sure you don't mean Chantar? She's the one who's so consistent. ^^
I'm going to really focus on short stories now because I love the idea of actually finishing within a week, and it will give me a chance to really build my skills as a writer.

My wrist is fine now, thank you. ^^ Now its my neck that hurts. I'm afraid of all the back problems I'm going to have if I'm bent over a computer all day writing. I'm practicing lying on my stomach with my laptop in front of me, but most of the time my arms go numb before I get very far.

I've been on gaia at least three times a day now just to stare at my new things... I love vivacenote!

I'm about five minutes from tearing my hair out. I'm past the uncontrollable frustration point, I'm just tired now. Exhausted from all the thinking.

I have the first half of my story mapped out and ready to go. The second half, which is what really matters, is all but nonexistent. And I cannot, for the life of me, come up with something good great. I refuse to write 'what works'. It has to be something I love.

I'm going to go ahead and write the first half, but I know I'm going to have to go back and do so many revisions because the second half will change things through the whole story.

Its difficult to devote my time to a story when I don't even know exactly what it's about. But I'm not going to abandon it because I know the answer is out there somewhere. I don't remember exactly how my mom said it, but it was along the lines of 'No problem can withstand the power of constant thinking'.
Basically, if I stick to it, I WILL find an answer.

No no, I meant you. It would appear that everyone writes more than I do though smile

The sore back/wrist.. keep moving the laptop till you find a position that suits you. Endless staring into space in front of my laptop instead of writing has taught me at least that much. (That, and hot drinks go cold way too fast when you're procrastinating)

As for the story... write the first part and the rest will follow? I hope?

Hot drinks cool down, and everyone else eats the pizza when I'm on the computer. Also, they leave, and then when I notice an hour later, I have no idea where everybody went.

I'm pretty much betting that inspiration will strike while I'm writing. I mostly have my plot figured out before I start writing, but new things always squirm their way in when I actually get going. I'm hoping one of those 'new things' will be a focal point for the second half.

Which, by the way, I'm so burnt out from writing, I'm taking a break to draw for a few days. My sketchbook has been neglected in a closet for too long.

I've been getting to know two really sweet guys. heart Its kind of exciting.

Anyway, I've been having some self doubt lately. See, I've surrounded myself with writing friends, and we always talk about our ideas for stories (but I never share the critical pieces). In the back of my mind, I know they're just a bunch of talk and no action. Even if they stole my ideas, they would never actually get around to writing them. I silently criticize them for their lack of committment to their stories.
But I'm starting to realize that I have that too. I have to say that I did complete a NaNoWriMo, which is much much, more than any of my friends can boast. But after that... I haven't finished anything lately. Not even a short story.

I just finished watching 'Tales from Earthsea' (not so impressive), and it inspired a new short story. I'm 5 pages into what I hope will be 10-15, and I'm still going strong. But my history has shown I'll abandon it before its finished. I just really want to make an effort to stick with it. What's ten pages, anyway? *sigh*

I just finished writing a short story! 23 pages, single-spaced (I never write double-spaced). I'm so excited about it!

Yes, its a bunch of crap, but I'm going to revise and edit it now, which I'm really looking forward too.
I still love my characters, my storyline is still interesting to me. Yes, it worked out very well.

My storyline is actually nothing special. I really just wanted to straigh-shoot it to the end. And its worked out perfectly. I love it.

I'm just really excited. Once I finish revising, I can't wait for my brother to read it!

YES

Finished a short story yesterday. 25 pages, 12 font, single spaced. I'm pretty happy with my final draft. It feels good to really get something done.
Now the best part is, I get to find a fun, new, idea! Funny thing is, I don't have a stockpile of them already. So, its going to be a few days before something fantastic hits me.

Also, I'm completely broke right now, here on gaia. I spent all my money on a new item, just so it could be invested while I take a break. ^^
