~ A little rock and a teenager~

It was a rock. Shaped like a cat.

Tanshin was half-tempted to let it 'slip' out of his pocket and fall to the ground, good luck to the thing and whoever found it. A cat-shaped stone was much too girly for someone like him. Still, something kept him from letting go of it. Something . . . something that pulsed with life, at least to his mind's eye, and Tanshin had a good sense for that sort of thing. If there really was life to this thing, he couldn't just dash it away and leave it to someone else.

After all. . .

Well, that led to bad things. That's all that mattered.

No, Tanshin was keeping this thing, at least for now. He would see what would happen to it - maybe it would be worth holding on to, maybe it wouldn't. But hasty judgments had never served him well before, so why should they this time? No, he wasn't going to do anything on impulse. If anyone else - if anyone suffered because of him making a hasty decision, he would never forgive himself.

And if the little flutterings of life he sensed proved real and true, maybe he could help this. . . whatever it was . . . have hope for a better life than he had ever had. It was a plan, anyway.

A half-thought-out-plan, but he couldn't form a complex plan so early, not without more information. It would have to do for now.
