The wolf found herself in the forests on this day. She padded about in the shadows of the leaves above, leaf-litter under her paws. She had been here many times, though had always found it difficult to hunt here, due to her coat color, but she made due with smaller food items. Many of them. She lounged under a tree, eyes pointed up to the "ceiling" and sighed happily.

Really, she was quite pleased with... Well, the state of everything! The weather was great, the air was crisp, she had bumped into a few kind individuals over the recent weeks... And it would be a full moon tonight. She was just in a generally good mood today, and she hoped it would keep up.

Lala looked around her. Everything was so big!! She sat below a large tree, trying to figure out how to climb it, to be safe. Jumping, she tried digging her tiny claws into the tough bark, but it wouldn't give and she slid back down to the ground. As she hit, she stirred up a couple leaves, which distracted her. Giggling and cooing, she bat playfully at the leaves, stirring more up in the process. She ran after a particular colorful leaf, and smacked into something big...and blue.

Xing wasn't really paying any attention to her surroundings (as was typical with her,) so she hadn't noticed the snow leopard until she ran smack into her ribcage. She didn't jump per se, but her attention did snap straight to whatever (or whoever) it was. Her bi-colored eyes met with... A little cub!

Xing had never seen one up-close, only really adult snow leopards, but she couldn't stop her eyes from growing large and her smile from growing even larger. This little one was so... Little! And adorable, she wasn't sure she'd ever really seen anything so cute.

She tilted her head a little bit and said in the sweetest voice she could, "well hello little one!" She hoped not to scare the cub off. That shade of tan- no wonder she didn't see the cub coming, she would blend in quite nicely! And snow leopards were experts at hiding themselves, or so she had been told. She wondered exactly how much of that was present at cubhood. "My name's Liuxingyu, or Xing for short. What's yours?"

Lala looked up...and up, and came across two large eyes, and, in her mind, even larger teeth. Flattening her ears back, she tried to make herself look smaller, as if that could even be possible. The only thing that would give her away was her wide, bright-green eyes, which would disappear in the treetops, if she could get there. "N-names?" she asked, her concentration to form the word visible on her face. With another bout of thinking she finally produced the word "Lala."

The wolf picked up on the cub's uncertainty. She had every reason to be a little weirded-out by an adult wolf towering overhead, especially for one so small. She did whatever she could to make herself look smaller too, though there wasn't much she could do. She had a certain size, and she couldn't be smaller than it.

Still, she folded her ears back softly. "Lala, that's a wonderful name!" the lighter wolf said happily. "You don't have to be scared of me," she said finally addressing the girl's fear. "I won't hurt you. And, Lala, you want to know something? You're really cute! You're like... Super cute, actually," she said happily, still beaming. She couldn't contain herself, it was like a cuteness overload, and she wasn't even sure that the cub knew it.

Her ears perked up, even though she remained low to the ground. She liked when the big thing said she wouldn't hurt her, and she was a little bashful at it's compliment of her name, her ears flickering to the side. "Cute?" she asked, having heard the word for the first time. She tilted her head to the side, her ears forward, "I cute?"

She smiled- yes cute! The cub was so small... Yeah, so small and... Well, Xing hadn't picked up the scent of any nearby leopards. Sure, if an adult didn't want to be detected, it was near impossible to find one, but... Well, a mother missing a cub should be around, anyway.

Liuxingyu would address that in a moment, after Lala finished warming up to her. The wolf could tell she was making progress, and she was determined to get to the inside of Lala's shell.

"Yeah, you're really cute! You know what that means, right?" she asked the girl with a headtilt, ready to explain if she needed to. Well, if she could. How do you explain or define cute to someone who is a perfect example of cuteness?

The little cub shook her head-she didn't know. Slightly embarrassed, she covered her nose with her paws, looking up as best she could with big, green eyes. Although she didn't know what it meant, she guessed it was a good thing since the big thing seemed so excited about it.

Her cuteness, though, couldn't overpower the mild sense of worry that the wolf felt. Xing figured that Lala was going to be as open about the question now as any other time. And she had to find out- who could leave a cub alone anywhere? She took a few looks around to see if she could answer the question herself first, but... Well, her bi-colored eyes didn't find any leopards prowling the shadows of the forests. She herself was certainly concerned for the youngster's safety... Had she been a hungry (and much more deranged) wolf, she might have eaten the girl! And there were some psychos out there. She herself had never met one, but her mother had warned her about them when she was a pup.

"Lala, sweetie, does your mom know where you are?" She asked, concern flickering across her face for an instant. "I wouldn't want her to worry," she continued.

Ears drooping, she looked at the ground sadly and shook her head. "No mom," she said, her voice small and wavering. She didn't know where any of her family was, she hadn't seen anyone for days. Then a thought came across her that perked her up a bit and she asked, "You mom?"

Oooh, that was not the answer the wolf had wanted to hear. She gave Lala a sweet smile and looked down at the little face. She had no mom. This cute little cub had nobody to take care of her, and that put Liuxingyu in the most... well, the most locked position ever. She simply couldn't say no to the cub. She couldn't leave her to fend for herself! How cruel would one have to be to do that!?

No, she'd take the cub with her, at least until she found the girl's family or a more fitting caretaker. "Well, if you need me to be your mom, I can be," Xing said sweetly. "And I can sure try to help you find someone you know." If the wolf was to raise the leopard, surely she would never be able to hunt or navigate with that smooth, ghost-like gait that leopards can do. But she would take her on long enough to help her find another of her kind to teach her their ways.
