I don't see role playing games that way. I look at them more like a book, going through someone else's story, not mine own. I play games to get away from my own life. emo
And Melissa is a pretty name. I've never known anyone named Melissa.

Imagine REALLY getting away from your real life. If YOU got... Teleported into some magical fantasy realm, and stepped into the shoes of a hero. You'd still be getting away from your own life. That's the difference between Movies and Books, and Games. In Movies and Books, you take passive participation in a story. In a video game, you take ACTIVE participation in a story. You're the one who makes the decisions, you're the one who defeats the enemies the way YOU want to. You're the one who's doing the thinking in puzzle solving. It can't be done without YOU.

But without you, that movie can't happen. If you don't pick up the controller, your character is just gonna stand there forever. You're the one taking control of that protagonist. You're the one who has to get them through all those obstacles to make sure they succeed in the end. You can't just sit back and watch, you have to be active. It's an interactive movie that you get to take a part in. Play a role in.

Well, you can always name them the name that you'd like to have instead of Melissa. I mean, if you were to legally change your name, what would it be? And why not name them that?
Naming things is fun. It's half the fun of getting pets. I remember when my cat had Kittens, one of the best parts was coming up with names for all of them.

We once got a cat from our friends. They were leaving for a vacation and they needed someone to do some cat sitting, so we took the cat it. The cat didn't have a name, but we gave her a name anyway, lol, even though we only had her for like a week. It's fun naming things.

Sadly I always name things in reference to Star Wars. Like how I named my car the Millennium Falcon. emo So maybe I'll name the female protagonist Leia. biggrin

Alice. I dunno if they kept the name, though. Spindra Sadly I always name things in reference to Star Wars. Like how I named my car the Millennium Falcon. emo So maybe I'll name the female protagonist Leia. biggrin There ya go! It's too bad you can't give your Personas nicknames like Pokemon. EDIT: Wait, does that mean you'll make her last name "Skywalker"? Actually, I don't think that'll fit. It's 8 letters max, I believe.
