VS.

Description: To debut the opening of the new Beach Selena, which sits on the western coast of the GTB plot of land, Midus has decided to host the second round of the tournament in this lovely place. The sun is shining brightly as the warm breeze blows gentle waves along the clear crystal waters. Boats, surfers, and ski boats trail the waters as a large crowd of spectators gather around a single large wooden platform situated out in the middle of the water. This platform will serve as the fighting ground for both fighters as they are transported out here, either via boat or by their own creative method. The platform itself is made of wood, but contains a solid slab of stone underneath it that is four feet tall meant to keep the platform from being destroyed. Though you may think you can destroy rock with your attacks, this stone is extra tough, meaning knocking chunks out of it will be your only capability, so don't expect to punch any holes through it. Field Measurements: The platform is a square shape, with the distance measured from one side to the other merely 15 yards, which equates to 45 feet. You won't be able to run around this thing as freely as the last arena. The platform is raised a foot above water, so if you fall off, you can still simply climb back on. The platform is rooted underneath with a four pillars of the same stone at each corner, so it will always remain stationary. The pillars are ten feet long each (and quite wide), touching the sandy floor underneath. Ten Count Boundary: Falling into the water begins the ten count. If the other fighter goes into the water, too, or makes contact with the fighter in count-out in any way, the count resets. This does not apply if both fighters are in the water. Only when a fighter has both feet on the platform does the count stop for them. The flying rule remains in effect. Other Penalties: Do not attack spectators or attempt to destroy the platform's rooting underwater. Doing so will result in a DQ. Fight Ends: On July 9th, at 9 PM Central.

To say that Stella was in her element was a complete understatement.
Some would say the ocean was tranquil, but those who were familiar with it knew that the sea was turbulent, thriving with life and motion, and was whimsically unpredictable.
And as the calm June breeze strengthened into a forceful July wind, the waves bended to the air's will. Curving upward, the water rose high, threatening to crash down violently, but its stunning clarity made its natural beauty shine in the bright sunlight.
Just as the wave began to break downward, folding into a perfect pipeline, the Summer Fae was seen surfing down its center. Brushing the cold water with her hand as she passed and leaving a trail of white bubbles behind, the fae glided through the wave until it finally collapsed, rearing her makeshift surfboard to head towards the dock that would serve as the current battlefield.
As Stella got to the dock, she picked up her "board", which was revealed as her trademark fan. Standing the four-foot-tall Tessen Fan upright, the fae flipped the little fin on the fan's underside inward, locking it in place. Stella added the fin herself to the handed-down relic that was the Summer Fae's beacon, so she may be able to ride on both the air and the waves. Just don't tell the Faerie Queen.
Standing there in her itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny, blue criss-cross bikini, Stella gave a little shake to separate some of the water and sand from herself. With a deep breath in, she centered her magics, focusing her glamour. Her very skin seemed to transition to her previous battle gear, which consisted of a blue cut-off t-shirt and some spiffy jeans.
Why, by looking at her, one would hardly guess that she had gone surfing no more than a few seconds ago. But this was Gaia in the current generation, who were not so stupefied by the sight of magic as they were in the past, letting Stella glamour and enchant as she pleased. However, mentioning that to the ogling sailors around the dock might lead to more bad than good.
"Let's see..." Stella murmured to herself, looking around. "Fan, check. Clothes, check. What am I missing?" The blonde fae held her finger to her lip as she pondered, looking upward as she pursed her lips and thought. "Ah, my opponent!" she exclaimed in a brief "ah-ha!" moment, panning the crowd. Hopefully he arrived soon, as Stella was not a fan of waiting.

She wouldn't have to wait long.
A yacht manned by people who looked like they had no business on any boat of any kind drew close to the man made island surrounded by hordes of cheering fans. At the front of the boat sat REYEN TARGAWYN, heir unapparent to a couple of kingdoms, and participant in this year's Gaian Tenkaichi Buokai. He wore a fedora, sunglasses, and his trademark outfit of comfortable black. As they neared, Rey slipped off his boots, trusting his bare feet for more stability on the likely slick surface. He took off the sunglasses too, handing them to an elderly man who seemed in charge of the sails.
Rey slipped off of the boat and onto the arena. The Practitioner tipped his hat to his next opponent- she was a lady after all- before turning to the crowd. His hand gripped the brim, and tossed it into the crowds surrounding the area. The crowds, of course, went wild and Rey offered them a smirk for their trouble.
The thief removed sword and sheath from his belt and slowly drew his sword in front of his face, overly dramatic for the spectators. He certainly knew how to win the favor of a crowd. The sheath finally slipped away from the tip of the blade, and was immediately discarded, floating in the lapping waves just outside of the ring. The sword, and the rest of Reyen's lean body, moved smoothly into a stance of readiness. His right hand was in front, his body tilted almost horizontally. His feet pointed diagonally to the left, and his left hand hovered close to his body. His weight was on the balls of his feet, and his left heel floated a bit off of the stone surface.
"Summer, I take it? It's a pleasure."

And the fae had just begun to think that he was a gentleman, but her lips pursed downwards in a disapproving frown. She looked mildly irritated. "The name's Stella," she corrected him. "And you must be Reyen. Don't worry, we're going to have some fun," the mischevious fae snickered. Luckily, Stella's sour mood was shortlived, as she could not remain angry as she felt the caress of the salty sea breeze on her face. The gentle wind was carrying on to the south, pushing her hair past her face and making her golden, curly ponytail drift behind her in the air. The fae took a deep breath in, centering her energy. The wind would be on her side in this fight. With a grin being flashed towards the opposing Reyen, the breeze changed direction and began to blaze upward, almost making Stella's golden hair stand on end, being whipped around by the wind. This wind seemed to be coming from the fae, herself, submitting the gales to her command. "Now then, let's play!" Stella exclaimed as she took her fan in both her hands, about a foot length of space between both of her hands on the closed fan. Pushing off on the balls of her feet, the wind supported her under her heels to use her Fae Step to make her move more quickly as she dashed forward, headed straight for Reyen. Stella had already been introduced, but she was going to introduce her fan to Reyen's face. The fae hardly looked as if she was going to stop moving during her charge, swiping from (her) right to left, hoping to bludgeon the left side of his face and neck, leaving about 3-4 feet between the two fighters. [Post 1]Synopsis:Stella charged forward with the aid of her Fae Step, striking with her fan from (her) right to left, aimed toward Reyen's (left side) face and neck. Equipment Remaining:Strings of Pearls- 3 Fireworks- 8 For battle reference (if needed):Quote: ___Great Fan Length: Four feet (when at full size) Weight: 15 lbs (when at full size) Info: Stella uses the fan as both a blunt bludgeoning weapon as well as the aide for her wind attacks. Normally, the fan is only eight inches long, until Stella awakens it with her energy and allows it to grow to its four foot length, and can just as easily be shrunken back down to its more convenient size. Quote: Fae Step
Fae are able to move quickly or fly for very short amounts of time depending on the sort of elemental affiliations they possess. Stella can direct the wind with her body when she supports only herself, and does not require the use of her fan.
By manipulating the wind downward, she can support herself midair for a maximum of ten seconds, and cannot travel higher than eight feet above the ground.
Stella also manipulates the wind behind her to give her an extra, constant push while running. She is usually able to outrun fast humans, but may only equate to or be unable to measure up to otherworldly beings with developed speed. [Edited for clarity.]

"Summer, I take it? It's a pleasure." A cat in the stands growled ferociously at the flamboyant & flowery qualities this man's voice held, causing all nearby to slowly but surely shift away a couple healthy inches. Must have been someone's pet.

“My apologies. Names are not my strongest, I fear.” She had revealed herself to be one partial to pleasantries, which meant it was in Reyen's best interest to exchange such meaningless drivel. It's a lot harder to pound someone you like into the ground.Rey felt a presence to his left, and turned to see a cat standing, surrounded by emptiness on the stands on top of a pirate ship. Odd. The cat seemed to generate an energy around it, a power of pure feline energy. Reyen shrugged and turned to see the polite woman charging down at him.
She seemed light on her feet, and seemed a bit faster than normal human capabilities. She wielded the large fan capably and comfortably. She was, by no means, an amateur. Her movements seemed clear, a quick apprach into a fast attack. She was mobile enough that a hit and run was possible. And she was also mobile enough to continue in a flurry of fast attacks. This gave her a lot of options, and limited Rey's. In other words, it was rather less than ideal. So what did Reyen do? He decided to risk it and attempt to take at least some control.
The dagger was the first thing to move from Reyen's left hand. In fact, It was thrown as soon as Rey saw her out of the corner of his eye. Rey Tapped the ever-versatile Mana. The focus of said arcane power was the Practitioner's legs, making him actually faster than she was. This increase in speed allowed him to meet her roughly in the middle. She would move to hit his left side (confirmed OOC) despite his change in position. It was still a likely superhuman attack, and thusly had to be dealt with. Reyen leapt into the air, Pushing with his feet. The thief shifted his body, hes right side rolling forward. His sword shifted into position. Now, if the blow hit him, it would hit the blade and either be sliced or slide down the curvature of the blade. This movement would result in Rey sliding back opposite his original position, after meeting blows with his opponent. It was a joust, so to speak.
Rey landed with his left hand on the ground, sliding and slowing down his descent into the water. The rules might have changed last minute, but that didn't mean that the Practitioner wanted to give his enemy an advandage. Rey still gripped his sword in his right hand, of course, and had no other weapon apparent, except of course for the still sheathed stiletto on each hip. He quickly, and carefully stood.
“As they say, the ball is in your court.”
