::Shop RP::

::M::
Marrigan pressed up against the door as she pushed it open slowly, using it more as support than as a portal into the store. Shoulders sagging, she stumbled inside, lanturn hanging limply from her left hand. Dark circles were prominent under her eyes, whose lids drooped with fatigue.

Yawning, she looked around the room blearily, hoping to see someone else.

::Hakari::
The shop appeared empty at first, but if one looked carefully enough, a soft pink glow came from behind the counter, and small scufflings and quiet humming could be heard should one listen. The walls of the shop were crammed of lanturns and small knick knacks, barely visible walls proved to be dark red in color. Off to one side a few comfy chairs were crammed against the wall around a small coffee table. Though for some reason he was hard to see, A long limbed, dark skinned man was curled up, fast asleep in the large of those chairs. Dressed all in grey, decaying clothes, the man's chest rose and fell in the gently rythm of deep sleep. Silver hair fell across his attractive face as he slept.

::M::
Barely perceptive of anything, Marri finally picked up on the fact that, yes indeed, there was a place to sit. She drifted over to the coffee table area, a sleepy smile gracing her features. Her lanturn glowed softly as her hand swung lazily back and forth.

As she reached the sitting area, Marri was somewhat startled by the fact that there was already somebody there. After a moment of staring, her brain attempting to yell through the fog that it was rude to do so, she determined that he was asleep and actually quite handsome. A soft blush flushed her cheeks for a minute, and, not wanting to wake him, despite her need for rest, she walked over to the counter and leaned back against it, the long wrapped tails of her hair hanging back over the top.

::Hakari::
From the light behind the counter came a sudden, rather loud sneeze. The long hair that hung over the top had suddenly dropped and tickled someones nose. Said someone stood up and said "May I help you miss?" while rubbing her nose with one hand slightly. She had dark magenta hair and bright pink eyes that stood out against her fair skin. She wore a pink shirt and boots with a majenta skirt and vest, accompanied by a pair of fingerless gloves.

::M::
Marrigan jumped slightly, yelping, and stumbled forward at the sudden question, not having noticed the other's presence. She laughed nervously for a moment, shaking her head.

"I do believe that this is the most conscious I have become all day..." she mused out loud, silently thanking the adrenaline for giving her a temporary boost. Shaking her head, she sighed.

"I appologize for my impoliteness in not making my presence known. I am known as Marrigan Knight." She bowed slightly in greeting, shifting her heavy cloak on her shoulders so that it would not fall off.

::Hakari::
"Nice to meet you, I'm Toshi." The girl said with a smile and a small bow in return.
"Welcome to Soul Emporium. I take it this is not your first visit?" She said with a nodd towards the womans lanturn.

::M::
"A pleasure," Marrigan said, attempting a weak smile in return.
"I have visited earlier, however, only encountered a young lady possessing a lanturn of her own."

She held her lanturn aloft for a moment, staring at it contemplatively.

"Since I had purchased her in a stall nearby, I can not help but be somewhat preoccuppied with curiosity." Her arm dropped back to her side slowly, lanturn resting against the outside of her cloak.

"I was hoping to learn more..."

::Hakari::
"Ah! You must've gotten yours from Sinn!" The girl said with a broad smile. "look, i have a lanturn too!" she said, holding hers up to show the woman. Her's was a bit different than normal lanturns, a special gift from Hakari that had made her into the level three spirit she was now. Her lanturn was made of a orb of glass capped with shiny black metal and a handle, The bottom also had a round flat metal piece to make it stand up right. Inside it all swirled a gentle magenta light.

::M::
"Sinn..." Marrigan thought back for a moment to her original encounter. "Would he be the gentleman with the green and blonde hair?"

Abandoning that train of thought, she leaned in closer to look at the girl's lanturn. She stared deep into the orb's depth, mesmerized by the orb's beautiful swirling light. Somewhere in the back of her mind, a small piece of her bemoaned the fact that she couldn't make a pattern as pretty as that in any of her paintings.

"It's beautiful," Marri said, smiling warmly. A yawn slipped through her lips, and she covered her mouth quickly, looking somewhat embarassed about the whole thing.

::Hakari::
"Yup! That's him!" she said with a bright smile. Her wild hair bounced slightly as she laughed in amusement. Her laugh was high and musical, clear like a bell. "You didn't get much sleep last night did you? Would you like to sit down?" the girl asked politely.

::M::
"I believe I might have developed a bout of sleepwalking," Marri sighed, running a hand through her bangs. "When I wake, I seem to find myself in unusual locations."

She glanced back over to the sitting area, frowning.

"I wouldn't mind a seat, but I'm afraid that my presence may awaken him," she said, motioning to the sleeper.

::Hakari::
"Oh, I see." The girl said with an understanding nodd, even though she had no idea what sleep walking was. She ot the general drift though. When Marri looked over at the seating area and spoke of waking some one up, Toshi looked over.
"Hmm? Oh, Van? Don't worry about him. He sleeps like the dead." She said with a laugh. "And even if he does wake up, that's okay. He sleeps to much as it is."

::M::
"I suppose I'm used to waking everyone up each time I moved from my room at home." She sighed, thinking of her family. "Everyone slept so lightly that the slightest provocation would awaken them."

"I would like a seat, though..."

::Hakari::
"That easy? wow, they sleep really lightly!" she said and led the woman over to the seating area. She jumped into a seat next to the one the man dressed all in grey was in and gestured for Marri to have a seat.
"So, you said you had some questions?"

::M::
"My little sister would always scold me when I used the toilet and awakened her," Marrigan said, laughing a little at the memory. "And my older sister..." Here she paused, frowned for a moment, and shook her head as if to clear it. Was she forgetting something?

Somewhat perpexed, she took the seat offered. She placed her lanturn in her lap, where it sat comfortably in the dent between her legs.

"I really know so little about these lanturns. At first I purchased it because I thought it to be a beautiful artistic piece, but they are really so much more than that, aren't they?" She touched the handle fondly. "I understand there is some sort of spirit attatched to each lanturn, but further than that I know nothing."

::Hakari::
"Yup, you're right about that." Toshi said with a nod. "I came from a lanturn just like that, but a different color." the magenta themed girl said with a smile. "Soon the spirit will manifest into a child like being, like I used to be." She explained.

::M::
"Ah! You are?" Marri gasped in suprise, before regaining her composure. "Forgive me, I am just a little suprised. I suppose I have a great deal more to learn about this world." She laughed gently.

"In a way, I am somewhat grateful that it will turn out this way. I do miss my family terribly..." Her thoughts wandered a moment to the villa back home, before she realized she was geing rude to her host and readjusted her attention.

::Hakari::
"Yeah! But i'm bigger than most because I've absorbed another lanturn to make me stronger." She said proudly.
"Just make sure to give the spirit in your lanturn plenty of attention and love, or it'll make them reluctant to come out." she said with a matter of fact nod.

::M::
"To tell you the truth, I have been taking my lanturn to many places," Marrigan admitted, smiling. "I feel that the company of the light aids me in my latest works."

She absorbed the other piece of information for a moment contemplatively, mulling it over in her head.

"So spirits are capable of absorbing other lanturns..." This bothered her somewhat, considering the fact that spirits could become children. "Are all lanturn spirits as sentient as you?"

::Tea Party::

:M:
Yawning, Marrigan walked slowly into the shop, rubbing one of her eyes. Her lanturn swung lazily from the crook of her upraised arm, glowing merrily. Casting a bleary look about the room, she attempted a smile, somewhat overwhelmed by the amount of people inside.

Deciding that, despite what she was taught about the importance of socializing with one's peers, sitting down was the first priority, she collapsed into a nearby chair ungracefully.

:Erina_Nobara:
Spotting someone 'dressed in yella', Mocha couldn't help, but wonder if that was the 'Cinderlla' Braeden had spoke of in his jump-rope rhyme. Spotting his orange friend running about, full of energy, he took off after him. Finally catching up with him, he tugged on the elder lanturn's arm. "Hey, is THAT Cinderella?" he questioned, gesturing toward the yellow spirit Goki.

:Kaze1981:
Kaze pushed open the shop door awkwardly, a plate of cookies in her left hand, her right one pushing at the door handle.

The half-sprite had found the tea party invitation at the post office when she'd gone to check the mail and one excited unicorn boy and two plates of freshly baked cookies later - the latter owing to the fact that Kaze felt she ought to contribute if just a little - and here the pair were.

"Hurry up Mummy!" Arian was almost bouncing with excitement, silvery-grey wings fluttering down from his wings. "Otherwise everyone will be gone." The unicorn boy was particularly worried about this as he didn't want everyone to have gone home before he had a chance to talk to them.

Kaze laughed, having finally managed to fumble the door open. "I don't think we're too late" she told Arian as she stepped through the doorway and into the shop. "I can hear people."

"But you were so slow with baking those cookies and..." Arian paused distracted by the smell of cakes.

:M:
Seeing the new arrival having difficulty, Marrigan rose from her chair, grabbing the door. She was a little late, but somewhat more lucid than before, the excitement of the party having woken her a little. Deciding to at least try and be civil, she closed the door.

"Would you like some help?" she asked the woman, eyeing the balancing plates.

:Kaze1981:
Kaze gave the woman a smile "Help would be..." She started, but Arian interrupted.

"Are there other people still here?" He asked the lady, somewhat anxiously. "I want to meet lots of people if I can since Mummy said that lots of people come to parties and I don't know many people." He paused to draw breath "Oh and I'm Arian by the way and that's Mummy. What's your name Miss?"

:M:
"Ah, yes I believe that there are a few people around," Marrigan answered somewhat overtaken by the barrage of questions. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Arian and Miss Mummy. My name is Marrigan Knight." She bowed slightly with her introduction.

"Perhaps I should take one of those plates," Marrigan said, moving forwards. "I would not like to see your hard work wasted." She continued to watch Arian out of the corner of one eye. She had never seen a person with wings before, nor a horn.

:Kaze1981:
Kaze laughed "Pleased to meet you Miss Marrigan, my name's Kaze and if you wouldn't mind taking my plate then I can take Arian's since I know he's excited at the chance at meeting lots of people. Have you by chance a lantern too?" She pointed to the one that Arian was holding, the jade lantern at first not readily noticible as Arian was holding the plate of cookies.

Arian blinked at Marrigan "You do the bending over thingy too" he told her. "You're the" he paused to think "Um third person I've met who does it. Are you doing it to say hello?" He frowned "Or say sorry, or..." he paused. Come to think of it of the other two who'd done the bending over thing Toshi had done it to say hello and the red lantern girl Hi... Hik something had done it to say sorry.

:Hakari-chan:
Hakari came back out of the back room of the shop with a sign that said 'Employees only' on it. The red bow she had put in her hair fluttered slightly as she moved gracefully about the room, long curled black hair trailing behind her in elegant wisps. She held a platter of fresh tea cakes balanced on one hand, and the other holding a pale haired baby on her red silk clad hip. She gently placed the platter on the table and then moved off again.
The baby on Hakari's hip looked around with large, blue, curious eyes. The child looked like a normal human infant until one spotted his feathered tail and three sets of tiny wings that graced his back. He smiled happily at all the brightly glowing children that scampered about the place, clearly entranced by all the colors.
Hakari smiled at the child and kissed him on top of his pale, curly haired head. she then smiled at the two women who had just entered.
"Good afternoon and welcome to the party. Make yourselves at home." she said with a bright smile that lit up her red eyes.

Toshi skipped back into the shop in a white party dress and bow in her hair. She had a plastic bag with different kinds of tea in it, signaling that she had just come back from the store. She smiled around at all the people who had come in since she'd left. Her wild magenta hair bobbed as she looked around excitedly.

:Kaze1981:
Kaze smiled and looked over in Hakari's direction as the other woman spoke "Thank you and thank you for inviting us - Arian's been excited about it all afternoon."

Arian nodded, emerald eyes peering curiously at the baby that the other woman was holding.. He had feathered wings too and. He opened his mouth to ask about them, but his attention was caught by a familiar pink-haired girl carrying a bag of tea - well familiar as in met once at any rate. "Hi Toshi!" For a moment Arian almost waved, but the unicorn boy remembered the plate of cookies at the last minute.

:M:
Taking the plate, Marrigan smiled.

"A pleasure I'm sure. And yes, I do have a lanturn as well." Holding the plate steady as she did so, she wiggled her elbow a little to show off the lavender pink lanturn hanging from it.

"Hmmm....bowing like that is a habit I picked up from my family. In my case, I believe I'm using it to say hello, although I think it is used to emphasize politeness."

Glancing over, Marrigan saw the three enter. She recognized the woman from the time when she first saw the lanturns, but could not recall if they had ever been properly introduced. And of course she had met the young girl lanturn spirit upon her last visit, and smiled as she recalled the information she had been given.

Turning back to Kaze, she motioned to the platter.

"Where do you think I should place this?"

:Kaze1981:
Kaze snagged the plate from Arian deftly, relieved and a little surprised that the cookies were still on the plate considering how loose the unicorn boy grip on the plate was. "Thank you" she told Marrigan with a smile. "And your lantern is pretty." She looked thoughtful "As to where to put these, maybe in the kitchen" she frowned slightly "Or wherever the rest of the food is."

Arian blinked "Ok" he said, his attention flickering back to Marrigan. "The bending over thing seems really complicated though. How do you know what to use it for?" He looked at Kaze "Maybe you could put it with the cakes Mummy - I can smell them." He gave Kaze a hopeful look. "They smell yummy."

:Hakari:
"Hi Arian!" Toshi said cheerfully as she ran over, white party dress billowing about her slender form as she moved. The magenta spirit had found that she rather liked wearing dresses. She liked the way they flowed about her legs and flared out when she would spin around. She had to admit that they weren't always a sensible thing to wear though.
"Ooh! are those cookies?" Toshi asked, peering closely at the platter Arian was carrying, her wild hair falling forward a bit as she did so, forcing her to brush it impatiently behind one ear.
"Why don't you put them on the table and then we can play a game or something?" she asked her fellow level three spirit, clapping her white gloved hands together happily.
The baby too looked at Arian curioiusly. when he went to make grabby hands for Arian's hair or horn though, Hakari quickly caught his hands and shifted him to her other hip. The little boy pouted and looked at the women in front of him instead, smiling at them as he always did to friendly people.
"It's not a problem." she said with a merry smile. "Potato and I decided that we could all use a little get together to help all the little ones get to know one another." She said and looked around the room at the many brightly colored children.

:M:
"Thank you very much," Marrigan said, looking fondly at her lanturn. Walking over to the table, she placed the cookies in a free spot, nudging them to make sure that they would not topple off the table top.

Returning to the group, Marrigan bowed once again to Hakari, chuckling slightly as she did so.

"I don't believe we were introduced? My name is Marrigan."

:Kaze:
Arian grinned at Toshi, answering her question as he waited for Marrigan's answer "Yep they are, Mummy baked them when she found out that there was going to be a party since she says it's rude not to bring stuff and..." He blinked as he realised that he no longer held the platter of cookies and. "And they're.." he started.

"I've got them Arian" Kaze said interrupting him. She peered at Toshi curiously "Hello - I look after Arian. I don't think we've met though. I'm sure I'd have remembered someone as pretty as you." She smiled at Toshi as she half-watched Marrigan place the plate of cookies on the aforementioned table.

:Hakari:
"Ah yes Marrigan, I remember now. You have recovered fully I hope?" She asked with a concerned smile, remember how sick the woman had been when they had first met.
Toshi blushed cutely at the compliment she recieved from Kaze and said "I'm Toshi, my keeper is Hakari." she said with a smile, curtsying in her white party dress to be polite to the woman.

:Kaze:
Kaze smiled again "And my name's Kaze." She looked at Arian who was looking curiously at Toshi. "It's called a curtsy" she told Arian. "It's more a girl thing though, boy's bow.. Or as you call it do the bending over thing." She paused and then added "I'll just pop these cookies on that table, so Arian's free to play with you if you want Toshi." The half sprite suited actions to words.

Arian blinked. How did Mummy know that he was about to ask about it? And.. And... The unicorn boy blinked again as he realised that Mummy had gone. "Oh she's gone" he murmed half-disappointed, before brightening when he remembered Toshi had mentioned playing. "I'd love to play a game" he told Toshi brightly. "What game should we play?"

:M:
"I must admit that I am still fairly tired. My sleepwalking problem does not seem to have abated, I'm afraid." She probed the area under one eye slightly, smiling. "I'm sure I must have the most terrible bags under my eyes."

:Hakari:
"Oh, they're not so bad." The raven haired woman said, brushing her fingertips lightly across the bags under the womans eyes. As she did, a small red light flared at her fingertips and when she rested her hand on her hip once more, Hakari smiled. The bags under the womans eyes were gone along with a good deal of her exhaustion no doubt.

"Um um um...."Toshi said, tapping one finger to pursed lips as s he thought, pink eyes roving about the room as though seeking the answer somewhere on the walls.
"Well what kind of games do you like?" she asked him finally, not sure what kind of game to suggest to him.

:Kaze:
Arian looked thoughtfully at Toshi "I like any game, well not chess - cause that sounds boring, but I'll try any other game.. Even ones I don't know as long as it's ok for me to ask about them if I don't know them." He frowned "I don't really like I Spy either though, I don't know why though.. I just don't."

:M:
"Ah!" Marrigan gasped, suprised by the light, and even more startled by the sudden burst of energy. Feeling more awake than she had in months, she sighed in relief.

"Thank you so much for your kindness," she said, smiling brightly. Glancing at the two spirits, she smiled, remembering something from back home.

"Makes me think of my little sister," she said, waxing nostalagic.

:Hakari:
Hakari only smiled and nodded before asking conversationally "You have a sister?" as she shifted the baby boy on her hip onto her other hip.

Toshi nodded and then said "Well...How about kick the can? We can play it outside! It'll be even more fun if we can get more people to play with us...maybe Vanescere will!" she said with a grin. "What do you say?"

:Kaze:
Arian grinned "That sounds fun and I'll get to run too and I like running" he laughed. "I'm good at running, though it was hard at first running with wings since I wasn't used to them." His green eyes looked curious "But who is Van-es-ce-re?" he asked stumbling over the long name. "Is he like us?"

Kaze wandered back from placing the cookies on the table a cup of tea in the half sprite's hand. She noticed Hakari talking to Marrigan and headed in their direction, hesitating when she saw the pair in conversation - the half sprite not wanting to interrupt.

:Chegrin:
Braeden was visiting every person he could see, asking each one to take a necklace. They were hand made and fairly ornate, not cheap plastic party favors normally handed out. He didn't know who everyone was, but giving gifts just had to be a way to break the ice.

A tug on his arm and the orange spirit turned around, lighting up at the sight of young Mocha. Their last encounter left him with a happy euphoria that lasted for days, and the memory brought a smile to his face. Holding out a few necklaces, Braeden allowed Mocha to pick one he liked.

The younger spirit soon brought his attention to Gokiloud, and the inquary on if he was Cinderella or not and the lad snickered slightly.
"Don't think so. At least, he told me his name was Gokiloud. He could have been lying though. Why don't you go ask him for yourself?" Braeden wanted to encourage mingling between the others, and seeing the Cinderella exchange would just be classic.

"But hey Mocha, you wanna help me give out these necklaces to everyone? I made them for the party." He said, holding out a few of them, shining on small silver chains.

:M:
"Actually, I have two siblings. I am the middle child in a family of all girls," Marrigan said grinning. "My little sister is about six years younger than me. She'll be turning eleven in the spring."

"I remember when she was about ye big," she said, indicating the baby with a little wave and a smile, restraining herself from patronizing the poor little thing with a wave of nonsense words. She remembered being annoyed by it when her parents were doing it to her sister, and didn't want to repeat it, thus negating the entire point of her being irritated in the first place.

:Erina_Nobara:
"Oooh sure. I like that green one," he said, placing it around his neck. He then took a few others to pass out for Braeden. And as he did so, he slowly wandered in the yellow spirit's direction. He coughed. "Ahem....excuse me, but are you Cinderella?" Oo;

:Hakari:
Hakari chuckled and smiled. "I too have a younger sister, though she lives very far away at the moment. I was lucky enough to be able to visit she and my family while I was pregnant." she said and kissed her infant sons forehead, making him smile sleepily. "She is about fifty years younger than me." she said as she tucked a stray bit of hair behind an ear.

"Great! Yeah Van's just like us, only taller." she said with a smile. "Ooh Hey! Lets ask them to play too!" she said and grabbed Arians hand and pulled the winged unicorn over to mocha and Braeden. She was all smiles as she smoothed out her white party dress and asked "Hey, do you guys want to play kick the can with us?"

...((Marrigan shows her narcoleptic tendencies and falls asleep in the middle of the conversation. O.o))...

::Not Seeing::

Marrigan paused in front of the full length mirror in the hallway. Her lanturn glowed softly from a nearby table, where she had placed it upon returning from the party in the shop. True, thanks to Lady Hakari's magic she felt more awake, but there was that other feeling...

Placing a hand upon her heart, feeling its soft beat pulsing beneath her fingers, she moaned softly, unhappily.

"Something hurts..." she whispered to the still air, tracing her own reflection with her free hand. "Something that I don't even know..."

But even as the words slipped from between her lips, she felt surrounded by an incredible warmth. Gasping in suprise, a smale smile traced her lips, before she slowly fell over sideways, unconscious.

A flash of light filled the room with brilliance, overshadowing even the serene glow of the lanturn. As it faded, the figure on the carpet stirred, sitting up. The now decidedly male figure swore softly under his breath, rubbing the side of his neck. The carpet had broken some of the fall, but it still hurt.

Looking down at himself, he frowned.

"s**t. I am not goin' out in a dress."

Standing up, he moved down the hallway into Marrigan's bedroom, throwing open her closet. Disgusted at the overwhelming precense of femininity in her overly large collection of dresses, he began throwing clothes haphazardly on the bed. Finally coming across a sweatshirt and pair of jeans that were stuffed to the far right of the closet, he threw off his current outfit, dressing swiftly in the chilly air.

"Damn, doesn't she know how to put on the heat?"

After he finished dressing, he walked over to her bedroom mirror to admire his reflection. He shared some of Marrigan's most obvious traits, her long pale blonde hair, her pale skin, and her pink eyes, but was quite male and at least two inches taller. Deciding to pull his hair back, so fewer people would mistake him for a girl, he grabbed one of her smaller and less girly ribbons, a plain black one, and tied it in a simple knot.

Then, filled with excitement, he ran back down the hallway, grabbing the lanturn in the process.

"Time to get outta this place!"

::Shop RP::

M

Walking languidly into the shop, Nagir fingered the edge of the bandage around his upper arm absentmindedly. His pale blonde hair hung down his back in an extremely messily done braid, at the bottom of which appeared to be a very tattered black ribbon. Hanging from his arm was the lanturn formerly seen in the possession of Marrigan, whose appearance was also remarkably similar to his.

Looking around curiously, he had to admit that Marrigan had picked quite a good place to have an interest.

"So then, what should we do now?" He wondered aloud.

Epine de Rose
"So, do you have an aversion to the light or is the hood just a fashion statement?" Saevem enquired as the mage held open the door with her staff and she slipped into the now familiar store, her gaze trailing across the area before she at last turned round just in time to watch the mage close the door behind him with a small click.

"A bit of both." He offered coolly before turning his attentions to the rooms and the lanterns upon the racks - so this was the place she had spoken of before...he knew exactly why Locksey would have refused to come, the poor photographer would have found it frightfully boring.

"Ooh, but then girl's won't see your pretty face!" Saevem giggled delightedly as she walked further in until at last she fixed her gaze upon Nagir, or rather the lantern in which he held which was frightfully familiar to her - hadn't that belonged to Marrigan?

"Who are you...?" She asked uncertaintly as the mage drew up behind her and rested his weight on his staff, his gaze still fixed elsewhere.

M

Turning around at the unfamiliar voice, Nagir smiled confidently. Bowing flamboyantly, one arm held high in the air, he hoped that he was making a memorable impression.

"You may call me Nagir, little lady," he said, rising from his pose. "It's not my full name, but it sure as hell is easier to pronounce."

Looking at the unusual duo, he could feel a sort of tension, but wasn't really concerned. After all, he wasn't that much of a threat, now was he?

Epine de Rose
"That's not your lamp." Saevem pointed out stiffly as she glanced at the delicate glowing lantern within his grasp and then glanced towards her shoulder where she caught a glimpe of the black velvet robes out of the corner of her eye - she always felt suitably more comfortable when she knew an adult was there to take care of her; she truly was just a little girl after all.

"It's Marrigan's." She continued as she turned her gaze back round to Nagir and failed to return his greeting. She wasn't always wary of strangers but the sudden arrival of this man with a friend's lantern didn't feel particularly right to her.

She could hardly ask Kasaru for an explanation either, he'd only just gotten here and seemed to be taking a mental note of the various lanterns hanging from the racks in his mind.

M

"Ah, this?" He said, lifting the lanturn in his hand. So, this girl had apparently met Marrigan, though he didn't have any memory of the event.

"Well, I'm kinda a babysitter of sorts, I guess," Nagir pondered aloud, trying to think of a plausible explanation. "Marrigan and I are, well, technically related, so...we share a lot of things."

Including a body, but he wasn't going to say that. Especially in front of such a young kid. Not to mention the fact that he didn't want her inquiring after Marri, who didn't even know he existed. Yet.

Epine de Rose
Her brow furrowed and for a time she remained exactly where she was, it was only when she became aware that Kasaru was stirring beside her that she shook her head, this man still didn't feel right to her for some reason...he gave off a funny aura and although she couldn't place it, it made her uneasy.

"Kasaru..." She murmured as she tugged at his sleeve with her free hand until his hooded gaze turned upon her briefly and then towards the flamboyant man with the lantern. He knew she was uneasy but he was hardly capable of placing anything himself when he had only just gotten here, it would take him time.

"Questions are always the source of answers." He replied wisely as he readjusted his grasp upon his staff and flashed a small smile. Her expression relaxed even if her grasp on her own lantern didn't...

"How are you related?" She enquired with narrowed eyes, sure they looked similar but they didn't feel the same and most relatives were remotely similar.

M

Nagir grimaced a bit at the question. Why was it always the hard ones? He didn't really want to lie per say, because then it'd probably come back later to bite him in the...well, ya know...

"Well, we both came from the same place, so..." He thought aloud, his voice soft with concentration, "I guess that makes us siblings!" He burst out, a wide grin appearing on his face.

Epine de Rose
"Same place in respect of what...?" At last Kasaru popped the question that Saevem would have missed and despite the inability to see his face beneath the shadows of his cowl the tone of voice he used almsot allowed a person to imagine a glint within his eye, as though he were suitably more intelligent than one might anticipate.

Saevem meanwhile could only glance up in astonishment at Kasaru's sudden interest but in ways she was glad, adults always seemed to be able to get more answers our of one another as they tended to outsmart children like herself.

M

Nagir felt like squirming under the sudden attention, as now he had both of them questioning him. He was honestly beginning to wonder when they were going to bring out the big lamp and the truth serum. Fidgeting with the end of his braid, and biting the inside of his lip, he tried to think of a way to get out of this one.

"Well...I guess you could say we were born...through the activities of the same person in the same location, so wouldn't that technically make us siblings?" He hadn't really thought about their extremely odd relationship in all that much depth. To tell the truth, admitting a familial relationship with Marrigan would mean he would have to admit one to those other two, and that wasn't a leap he was really ready to make.

Epine de Rose
"Leave it, Saevem." Kasaru ordered and shook his head despite the obvious suspicion in which he held towards the man, he felt that questioning him on his relationship with Marrigan was unwise but there were other ways of finding out what was desired every now and again...in fact, he believed she might even have the answer even as he directed her towards a seat.

"So where's Marrigan?" Saevem demanded as she flopped down onto the chair and gave a slight frown towards Kasaru who had wandered off to inspect one of the lantern's again. "Marrigan doesn't seem like a person who would just leave something like a lantern in a stranger's care!"

M

"Marrigan is asleep right now," Nagir said, which technically was the truth. "She hasn't been feeling well lately, due to a sleepwalking problem." Induced by yours truly, but that probably wasn't appropriate to say if he wished to salvage any reputation out of the first degree questioning session.

"So, with Marrigan unable to care for poor Yuiri here, I gladly took on the role." He placed one hand over his heart, trying to sound or look like a caring good citizen. "After all, from what I've heard, a growing lanturn needs plenty of attention and experiences!"

Not to mention the fact that he needed to get out of the apartment before he went stir crazy.

Erina_Nobara

A teenage girl, dressed in a crimson skirt and shirt combo with ruffled sleeves and a halter-top collar came wandering into the shop. Mocha was following, just after her. The door closed with a 'clack' behind them. "Oh, hello," Eri began, when she noticed their were other guests, obviously customers due to the fact that they were both holding lanturns. Mocha was very excited about this. He loved to meet new people. And there was something even familiar about the little girl. He sensed her presence before. Yes, in a way he'd 'met' her, though he was still in the lanturn that he was no carrying by his side.

"Hi there!" the little brown lantern chimed.

Epine de Rose
Saevem stared wide eyed at the spirit for a long while before she glanced up at kasaru as if in confusion, unfortunately he was still otherwise occupied and it was only after glancing at the one who had accompanied him that she put two and two together with a bright smile.

"You must be Mocha!" She chirped at last and offered her hand to the spirit who she had never seen before, "How do you do?" She asked softly before glancing at Nagir again with a shake of her head.

"Can I see her?"

Erina_Nobara

"Yup, that's me," Mocha answered, giving a wide grin. "Nice to finally meet ya-meet ya; in person ya know?"

Eri chuckled. "Oh us? Well I'm Eri, and this here is my friend Mocha. He's a lanturn spirit that I acquired here at the shop." She smiled, and patted the small boy on the head, ruffling his hair as she did so.

Mocha immediately reached up to fix his ponytail. "Yeah. And what's your name?" the spirit asked, stepping closer to the stranger out of curiousity. Out of the corner of his eye he saw another man, that he didn't recognize, but he figured everyone's attention seemed to be on this other person. Was he important? Oo; "Hmm."

M

"I'm Nagirram. Nagirram Knight, but you can call me Nagir, because the whole thing is just a mouthful," he said, shrugging. "It's nice to meet you. I pretty much just got here, so I don't know many people around here."

Nervously glancing over at his two inquisitors, he laughed shakily.

"I've been living with my 'sibling', Marrigan."

Epine de Rose
"I don't believe you." Saevem murmured finally as she reached out her lanturn for Kasaru to take (which he did) and then wandered over to Nagir to observe him more closely, even now a frown was etched across her youthful features.

"Where is she? I want to see her and make sure you haven't hurt her!" She snapped and shook her head as though she had experienced some form of hurt before in her life and was not about to let it happen again - she really could be such a suspicious minx every now and again but it came with the territory...dead people were always shifty.

M

"Damnit, I couldn't hurt Marrigan!" Nagir snarled slightly, temper flaring under stress. "Anything that happens to her happens to me as well. I might as well slam my head into a friggin' brick wall!"

Chest heaving with the exertion of his yelling, he almost immediately regretted his outburst. She was just a kid, after all, but still...

Erina_Nobara

Mocha took a step back, and then made a point to move BEHIND Eri. "He's dangerous?" he whispered, eyeing the man suspicously.

"Urrr..." the girl wasn't quite sure how to respond to that one. She didn't know the man, so it wasn't her place to say. But if Saevem didn't like him, maybe he really was a shady character. "I dunno. Who is this Marrigan exactly. You're names are really similar. Are you siblings? I know some parents love to give names that go together well like that." ^^; She asked, trying to lighten the mood.

M

"Marrigan is a very important 'sibling' to me who I would not harm, have no desire of harming, and technically cannot harm without causing myself severe bodily harm and probably mental trauma on top of it," Nagir said, developing a slight twitch above his left eye. He was getting the feeling that he should have never left the apartment today.

Getting an idea, he held out Yuiri for examination. The lanturn glowed gently, happily in his hand.

"Look, the lanturn has no problem with me. Therefore, I'm not a bad person, right?"

::Shop RP::

::M::

Decidedly less relaxed than in his last entrance, Nagir slowly peeked around the door to see if the inquisition was still present. Sighing in relief at the empty room, he entered.

"Well, maybe this time I'll actually meet somebody less threatening," he said half jokingly, fiddling with the end of his braid. The magenta lanturn hanging from his arm glowed happily, seemingly in response.

::Xenostatica::

Hikari was a bit excited today, she was almost finished with working on those pictures and was happy to leave the camera at home. She opened the door to the shop, she wonder if she would see any one new today.

::M::

Hearing the door open behind him, Nagir jumped practically a few feet in the air, his nerves shot from the other day. Turning, he was relieved to find that it wasn't any of the people he had run into yesterday. Waiting for his heartbeat to return to normal levels, he attempted to salvage some of his dignity by standing up straight and giving his most charming smile.

"Well, hello there miss," he said, trying to make his voice sound confident.

::Xenostatica::

Hikari smile wide, "Hello there, I'm Hikari!" She bowed as she usually did with new people and after stuck out a had for a greeting handshake. "It's nice to meet you."

::M::

Taking her hand, he shook it warmly, glad he had met at least one friendly person in this shop. Well, he couldn't say much about the other girl who he had met with that lanturn spirit, since he really didn't get to talk to her much, what with other interruptions.

"You can call me Nagir. My name is kinda long, so that's good enough," he said. "Are you a lanturn owner as well?"

::Xenostatica::

"Nagir, okay, if that's good enough," she nodded and continued the friendly smile with the hand shake. "A lanturn owner? I'm a lanturn...so I can't own a lanturn." She giggled at the thought.

::M::

"Ah, I see," he said smiling. "I really haven't met many of you, so it's a bit hard for me. Especially with so many...distractions going on."

::Xenostatica::

Hikari smiled and nodded, "Distractions?" She glowed red with curiousity, "What distractions?"

::M::

"Oh, it was nothing really," he laughed nervously, trying to seem calm. "Just a few uncomfortable questions by strangers. Come to think of it, I don't remember if I even asked their names." Not that he had some burning curiosity to find out. He never wanted to see that pair again.

::Xenostatica::

Hikari was even more curious, "REALLY? I wouldn't think anyone here would ask uncomfortable questions..." she thought about the lanturns and owners, "Nevermind, there might be a few. Xenos, my guardian always says let be what will be...though does that even fit in this situation?" SHe scratched her head a moment. "SO you have a lanturn?"

::M::

"I think they just took a personal dislike to me because I'm babysitting Marrigan's lanturn," he said, removing the magenta lanturn from his arm and holding it up. "She's sleeping at the moment, so I thought it'd be a good idea to bring Yuiri here along when I went out. I think they mistook me for a thief, or some other sort of evil person."

::Xenostatica::

"I could see that causing problems, many of the guardians never let the lanturns leave their sides, heck Xenos even had me sleep in her room," Hikari nodded, "Anf it took me forever to be able to come on my own to the shop and out." She looked at the little lanturn and smiled, "Cutie little lanturn, so you brought her with you."

::M::

"Well, I'd say that Marrigan is pretty close to her lanturn here." Nagir smiled, looking even more closely at the lanturn. "But, since Marrigan can't go out now, and can't even pay attention to Yuiri at the moment, I thought it'd be kinda cruel to just leave her sitting on the table. I know how awful it is not to be able to go anywhere on your own."

::Xenostatica::

Hikari nodded, "So what's Yuiri's actions like? Is she bright, happy or does she just glow when she's awake?" Hikari was excited just to see a lanturn, she didn't get to see too many and not often enough for her to grasp the concept of it all.

::M::

"Well..." Nagir had to think about this for a moment. He really didn't have half the experience with Yuiri that Marrigan had, having only been awake for the past five days or so.

"Hmmm, she almost always seems to have this gentle happy glow. I get the feeling that she's enjoying watching us. And," he smiled, recalling something he had seen out of Marri's eyes, "she seems to glow even brighter when near our artwork."

::Xenostatica::

"That's really interesting, Xenos said I had the same reaction to her and her art work..." Hikari was excited, "A soft glow I wonder if she will be quiet and a little more refined them me..." she blushed and laughed a little, "That's really cool, what will you do when Marrigan can go out?"

::M::

"Well, I'll probably just do what I usually do." Nagir sighed unhappily. He knew that Marrigan was probably going to wake up any day now, and his little joyride was going to be over. But still, this would at least make it easier to switch...

"I think we'll end up taking turns taking care of Yuiri. Marrigan, despite her good points, can be such a p***k at times, so she needs someone to teach her how to have fun!" Nagir grinned widely. He had never had any real siblings, so maybe this could really end up being something fun.

::Xenostatica::

Hikari nodded in her listening as to show that she was listening to him, "It would be nice if you could share her, cause this is an important stage for her ans she could be use to you already, just your voice alone can show her caring and understanind, and fun is especially important!"

::M::

"I hope that she likes me when she finally comes out. I'm hoping I'll be the one there when she does, but I get the feeling it'll end up being Marrigan." He grimaced a little, not really unhappy, because he knew it would mean a lot to Marri. After all, she had done most of the caretaking.

"Marri'd probably end up taking her to all libraries and museums. Not that I'm against it, I like good books and paintings enough. But still, every once in a while, somebody needs to do something a little more wild, ya know?"

Curiously, he looked at the spirit.

"What kind of things does your caretaker, Xenos was it, do with you?"

::Xenostatica::

Hikari got excited getting to answer a question, "Oh she does everything and takes me to many places, I've been to museums and libraries, but she also takes me to parks and the lake and such fun places, also parties like the tea party that was at the store a few weeks back." She seemed to bounce with each answer, "She says that all work and now play will make one grump and annoyed with life so we go out and have fun too."

::M::

Nagir nodded in agreement.

"A very wise lady. I'd like to meet her some day." Nagir said, grinning. "So, what was your favorite place to go to? I'd like to see more of this place, since I haven't been here long, and I'm sure you know of good places to go."

::Xenostatica::

Hikari smiled, "well some of the best areas that all the lanturns congerate at is the park...it's about a block away. We always end up there for some strange reason." She chuckled, "And hopefully the fair is coming!"

::M::

"A park, eh? Sounds pretty," Nagir said, smiling at the response. He wasn't really a park person, per say, but it was probably a good place to work on his sketches. Plus, he was sure that Marrigan, and probably Yuiri in the future would like it.

"And a fair? Fair games and food are always a good thing." Nagir hoped he would be around for the event. "Do you know when it's gonna be?"

::Xenostatica::

Hikari thought for a moment, "I don't know Aikori had made mention of it saying he would take me. That's should be in the summer or something like that..."

::M::

"Sounds wonderful! I can't wait for the warmer weather. Perfect time for a festival," Nagir said, nodding.

::Something Strange and Wonderful::

The sun rose high over the roofs of the city, and birds chirped happily in the eaves in anticipation of spring.

Nagir felt like crap. He knew that the time for Marrigan's return was probably any moment now, and the conflict of energy in his body was giving him some sort of indigestion headache combo. Sighing, he wondered if he should just give in.

Not that he had a choice. The change practically snuck up behind him, grabbed him by the throat, and yelled "Boogaboogabooga!"

Eyes widening in shock, then rolling back as he fainted, a last speck of his consciouness was thankful he was standing on the same shag carpet that Marrigan herself had passed out on. As his body lay prone on the floor, and light began to encompass it.

Strangely enough, this light was mirrored by another nearby...

On the table, where Nagir had placed it during breakfast, the magenta lanturn began to glow even more strongly, surpassing any light it had given off before. It filled the entire kitchen and chambers beyond, dwarfing even the shine from Nagir's change.

The smaller of the two lights faded, leaving a very messy Marrigan laying face down in the carpet, hair splayed about in a half done braid. Still unconscious from the previous events, she remained oblivious to what had just ocurred.

As the magenta light slowly vanished, it left behind a beautiful suprise. Pale pink purple eyes opened wide to take in her new surroundings, dragonfly wings fluttering as she yawned and stretched. Peering about curiously, lips pursed, her eyes were drawn to the shape collapsed on the floor.

Hopping down from the table gracefully, wings flaring behind her, she glided across the carpet in a flowing gait. Kneeling beside the body, she stared at it intently for a few moments before deciding on a course of action.

She poked it. Marrigan moaned, shifting slightly in the carpet.

Cocking her head to the side at the response, she decided that repeatedly jabbing it with her index finger would eventually produce some more results and proceeded to do so. With the constant prodding, Marrigan eventually came to awareness. She rolled over onto her back, the lanturn spirit squealing and retreating playfully.

Marrigan stared at the ceiling for a moment, wondering on earth had happened. Her eyes were just beginning to become accustomed to the white plaster, when a purple face popped into view, grinning. Marrigan, extremely startled, sat up quickly, nearly colliding heads with the small spirit, who had moved away just in time.

Twisting around from her sitting position, Marrigan stared at the spirit.

"You...." she began, barely able to think of something to say.

"You," the spirit agreed, nodding happily. Seeing the young spirit take such pride in herself for this, Marrigan couldn't help but dissolve into giggles. Soon the spirit joined in, their laughter echoing through the halls of their home.

::Communication::

Marrigan stared at the spirit, perplexed. Now how exactly was she supposed to handle this?

"Errr...eh..." she started, not exactly sure how to address her new family member. Yuiri stared back at her, lips slightly pursed, wondering exactly why her new friend was making such a silly person of herself.

"My...name...is...Marrigan..." Marri began slowly, painstakingly pronouncing each syllable. She really didn't know all that much about new lanturn spirits, or their level of intelligence, so she decided to assume the worst. Yuiri cocked her head to one side, gazing intently at the pale haired woman.

"'Rrigan," she whispered, grinning, eyes sparkling. Marri shook her head at the spirit, now determined to teach her to speak properly.

"It is Marrigan. Pronounced Mah-ree-gahn," she said, a hint of sterness in her voice.

"'Rrigan," the spirit repeated huffily, glaring off to one side into the kitchen. Marrigan began to open her mouth to correct the spirit again, when another voice joined in the conversation.

"Ah, just let the poor kid off already!" the male voice echoed through the room, sounding somewhat exasperated. Yuiri grinned, clapping her hands together, while Marrigan looked about in a panic, trying to find the source of the voice.

"Who is there?" she demanded, fearing a burglar/rapist/criminal had somehow gotten in. Yuiri was utterly unworried, happy at hearing the familiar voice.

"Gee, aren't we just the optimistic one?" the voice drawled. "Check the mirror, princess." Marrigan, half huffy at being called princess and half tense at the prospect of an intruder, shuffled to a sitting position in front of the mirror. Yuiri followed on hands and knees, smiling widely. Upon seeing the image in the mirror, Marri gasped. It wasn't her reflection, but that of a boy who looked as though he could be her twin. Smirking from his own sitting position, he crossed his arms.

"'Bout time we met, princess," he said, laughing. Marrigan stared at him, still in shock.

"Who on earth are you?" she yelped, taken aback. Yuiri, however, beat him to the answer.

"Nagir-papa!" she exclaimed, placing one small hand against the mirror. Her lack of reflection didn't faze her at all, and Marri gazed incredulously at the spirit.

"You KNOW him?" she asked, amazed. The spirit nodded energetically.

"Look, princess," he said, chuckling slightly when Marrigan pouted at her new nickname, "It's pretty complicated, but I'm always there with ya. Don't ask how, it's not a nice story, and I don't wanna break up the friendly style family bonding we got goin' here." Marrigan merely shook her head in exasperation, knowing that she probably couldn't get any answers out of her mystery guest.

"Look," he said, shifting slighly in the mirror, "I travel with you wherever you go, and I got to be with Yuiri here for a time. I'm here to watch out for ya, so don't be forgettin' it!"

Lips quirked in an expression of disbelieve, she answered in a noncomittal grunt.

"I'll be in touch!" he said, grinning charmingly before his image faded from the mirror, leaving only the reflections of the two girls behind. Marri continued to stare at the mirror in a kind of stupor, wondering what the hell happened and how.

"Rrigan-mama?" Yuiri questioned, looking at her guardian. Marri shook her head.

"It's nothing."

::Yuiri Entry::

Hello!

This is Yuiri's diary! Yuiri promise Riga-momma that'd I'd write all sorts of stuffies in here! Riga-momma says she won't read, which makes Yuiri wonder why she needs to writey in the first place. ???

Yuiri thinks that Riga-momma hasn't met Nagi-pappa before, even though they're all close and stuff. Riga-momma is upset by Nagi-pappa? Nagi-pappa likes to stay in the mirror lots and lots, so it's hard hard to talk to him, and Riga-momma seems to be staying away from the mirror too! Didn't Nagi-pappa say they were related?

If I had a relative, I'd be super super nice to them! 'Cuz I think that brothers and sisters should look out for one another. I tried to ask Riga-momma for a little sister, but she turned all red and went 'poof'! I asked Nagi-pappa the same thing later, and he laughed 'haha' at me!

Did I say something wrong?

Anywho, I wanna go out soon and have some fun! Later taters!

~Yuiri

(in which our loving family returns from therapy a.k.a. explanation for where the hell everyone was)

Nagir burst through the door of the apartment energetically, rushing down the hallway and into the bedroom, where he flopped down on the bed. Yuiri followed at a more sedated pace, peering through the doorway at her 'papa'.

"I missed this place!" he said, face flushed with excitement. Yuiri giggled, holding her lanturn behind her legs.

"You missed it too, right Yuiri-cutie?" Nagir asked quickly, bouncing to the end of the bed to look at her.

" 'issed," Yuiri agreed, nodding. Nagir grinned at her, before turning towards the mirror.

"Stop scowling like that, sweetheart!" he drawled, waving a hand halfheartedly. "Your face will freeze like that." Marrigan merely sniffed, her expression not changing a bit.

"Are you quite finished acting like a two year old with a new toy?" she asked irritatedly, crossing her arms inside the mirror.

"You're not still miffed with me for switchin' with you before we got her?" Nagir asked, slightly whining. "I thought we had agreed on that!"

"Just because I agree with your prescence doesn't mean I have to like it," she said, looking away. Nagir huffed under his breath, before standing up off the bed.

"Well, babe, you're stuck with me! Come on, Yuiri, let's go open some of the windows and get some fresh air!" Nagir rushed out of the room, Yuiri pausing to glance at Marri's reflection. Marrigan sighed, smiled halfheartedly and nodded. The lanturn spirit nodded back, returning the smile with a bright one of her own, before following Nagir.

Marri allowed herself a small, genuine smile, before she followed them through the mirrors to make sure that Nagir didn't do anything foolish. After all, she did have her priorities...

::In which Marrigan Attempt to Explain X-mas::

Yuiri barreled through the house holding a piece of paper in her small hand. Marrigan, absorbed in one of her paintings, didn't seem to notice the spirit's excitement. Yuiri decided that this state of affairs was unacceptable, and decided to regain her 'mother's' attention by waving the paper as close to Marri's nose as possible without actually touching it.

This, naturally, startled Marrigan out of her concentration, causing to fall off her stool and onto the floor with a thump. Blinking owlishly in surprise, Marri stared at Yuiri, who was currently jumping from one foot to the other and doing a remarkable imitation of a person who needed to pee badly. The spirit then proceeded to jump into Marri's lap, causing the older girl to make an 'umph' sound.

She waved the paper in Marri's face again.

"What is this?" she asked, taking the paper gently from her charge's grip.

"This?" Yuiri asked urgently, impatience and want contorting her features into a pout. Marrigan swiftly read over the parchment, smiling slightly at the end.

"Why, it is an invitation to a Secret Santa event!" Marrigan said, eyes sparkling. Why, she hadn't even noticed that it was the Christmas season already, so caught up in her work and the move. And Christmas always meant people were more polite and the world was more beautiful.

"Santa event?" the spirit whined questioningly, face screwed up in confusion. She wanted to know what it was, already!

"Oh," Marri said blushing, looking at Yuiri, "You don't know what Christmas is, do you?" Yuiri pouted, and gave a generally irritated look to her guardian. Of course she didn't know about Christmas, she hadn't had one yet.

"Well," Marrigan said slowly, "Christmas is a very special holiday and time of year. People celebrate winter and the birth of a new year by decorating and giving gifts to one another, to show that they care about the world and each other. One of the most significant figures of the Christmas season is known as Santa Clause or Saint Nicholas, who is known as the spirit of the season."

By this time, Yuiri's eyes were as wide as a pair of dinner plates. Gifts and decorations and a holiday spirit? Where could she sign up?

Marrigan laughed at her 'daughter's' expression. Peering back at the piece of paper, she smiled gently.

"Secret Santa events are a special celebration. You are given a person to buy a present for, and another person will buy a present for you." Yuiri nodded very seriously, drinking in every one of Marrigan's words. "Nobody is allowed to tell who they are buying for, hence the secret part. It is a big surprise for everybody."

Yuiri clapped her hands excitedly. She LOVED surprises. Marrigan took her hand.

"Shall we go sign up?"

Yuiri nodded energetically, and the two took off to begin celebrating their holiday.
