I'm a convert to the Borders online store
The range is much bigger - I can find books which aren't sold in Australia or are a bit older
Free delivery, cheaper editions than RL stores (and Amazon) AND I just got a 25% off voucher thingy
I've snapped up 4 books, which, not on purpose, are all time travel related
Just discovered Connie Willis so I got one of hers, a couple of my favourite Terry Pratchett books which I don't own yet and another one I don't remember...

if you like time travel, try reading "—all you zombies—" by robert a. heinlein (one of the most popular and well known sci-fi authors). its only a short story which you can find for free if you google it.

it has nothing to do with zombies, thats just the title. the story involves extremely mind blowing time-travel paradox that won't have encountered before, i'm quite certain. i'd like to explain you a bit of the story but i'm afraid i'd just spoil the fun. it's not very long, give it a shot.

Click
there, i found you an online version.

There's a used book seller from Melbourne that writes for a bookshop blog on occasion. I never actually check out her site but maybe you could find some cheap stuff there. i'll have to post it next time i see the address.

I got 4 books for AU$45. So basically the same as if I bought used books online. I've never been able to find a good RL used bookstore (so your tip could be handy, Lea! xd ).

I will say that paperbacks seem much cheaper in the US, based on my online searches. sad

i like this place, near where my brother lives.

http://www.abebooks.com/apple-tree-books-ellsworth-me-u.s.a/73907/sf

it is owner operated, with lots of genuine old books.

couldn't find that one online, a shame.

but another good time travel short story would be "a sound of thunder" by bradbury.

Here

this story should also be more appealing to people who aren't too keen on sci-fi.
