It really depends on the staff and students. If the students have their hearts and souls into the performance, it doesn't really matter what uniform your wearing or if your marching or sitting. Playing music is playing music and if the staff is good and the students willing, good things will happen.
If you have a director who takes over the band, completely changes everything and hates anyone who had the previous director...Well, that's another story. (Sorry, sore spot.)
