Sirius was very nervous about this meeting. His sister, disenfranchised by the wicked world she was thrust in, was bitter about everything, and it showed. He could see it in her eyes, the way they darted this way and that; uneasy and suspicious. She had always had a direct personality when they were younger, but now things seemed sevenfold. He was afraid this would turn his pack off, that they wouldn't accept her. And if they didn't...
That would be very, very bad.
He could not run this alone, and he knew, strongly, that if he kept going that way he was likely to burn out. His sister being here made a barrier between and his grief over Hedwig. Sirius had always made the mistake of giving his heart so deeply, that he knew one day - it would come back to bite him. Without his sister at his side, he would falter and the pack would die.
He simply couldn't have that.
So he stood up strongly and put his shoulders back, his head held high, looking at his gathered pack; so few that they were, and waited for her arrival.

Something was different about her alpha, Aimee thought reflectively as she looked down at him. He had called this meeting, but had not spoken, and the wolfess thought that was very strange. Was he waiting for something...or perhaps someone? Yes, that was exactly what he was doing, she thought as she took an even closer look. She didn't know how she felt about this and cast a dubious glance at the others waiting on the lands..
They didn't seem phased and that unphased her more. Aimee was not one to question another, especially her alpha. Her strength was in her quiet reflections before lashing out hard and heavy. Which she always did at the very last minute, waiting until the final moments before she decided to use her tail bone. It had won her many a fight, and had caused Sirius to move her into a beta rank, working directly for him on one of his secret projects.
But, she certainly wasn't let on this project. She fought the urge to pout or whine and instead shifted one leg, and then the other, waiting for him to speak....
Or for the wolf he was waiting for to show up.

There was unease, a sort of anxious tension floating heavily in the air that was choking and thick like the fog that so frequently covered the place. Tempest knew it well; she could sense it readily, could even smell it, taste sweet fear on her tongue, though she said nothing, did nothing to let on that the very thought of standing before a pack, awaiting acceptance as a new leader, thrilled her to the bone.
Her neck muscles tensed as she waited a ways off, behind a clump of bushes, her nails digging restlessly into the soil. She breathed in again and turned her head towards her brother. From her vantage point, she could make him out, as well as a small smattering of other, smaller wolves on an outcropping and around the little basin. They had no direction - she would have to change that - as they waited on their alpha, and she curled her lip in mild disgust.
Dark ears flitted around, then strained forward as she made her way towards Sirius, tail swaying back and forth with each powerful, purposeful step. The pack was small now, but with her calm and regal brother and her own intimidating and commanding attitude, she could see it prosper in her mind. They would be strong together, and they would grow, and there would be no reason for anyone to deny the ways they would teach. Life would be rewarding, better than she had lived in the last few years, and she would make sure of it. If there was any ounce of distrust or dishonor, she would take care of it quicker and more silent than a hunting owl.
She dipped her maw low in greeting as she rounded her brother's side - quickly gathering as much detail of the place as possible before straightening - then poised herself with her chest out, allowing her brother the chance to speak.

Lalage stretched her paws as each hit the ground, as she customarily did to keep quiet. Part of being...well... gifted was being able to move silently. If she couldn't be detected, it was all the better. She knew that although she wasn't royal blood, she was still an important member of the pack. Tonight would be the first glorious night of many. Lalage had seen it coming, and the future whispered to her quietly, telling of great things. To spite the alpha male's uncertainty, Lalage was resolved. This meeting was the beginning of a new, exciting era. If she allowed herself to smile, she would have in this instance. It was safe to say she was pleased.
Silently she appeared, as if a cream mist blowing through in the mottled light. There stood Sirius, tall and proud as ever, and Aimee sitting subserviently before him. In the distance, she could sense his ever-frustrated, hot-tempered sister. Her empty eyes gazed out over the scene as she approached, her jaw shut tight and expressionless. She had come, as she had been requested to. She paused for a moment, watching the female approach her sibling, then took her approach. Crossing in front of the two of them, she dipped her muzzle silently in greeting, then took her seat to the side, her slender body tucked comfortably close yet comfortably far away from her alphas. She waited, anticipation thick in the air. It would begin now. All of this would begin.

He came from a space between the waterfall and the rock, a small cavern located at the base that most would come to know of but few would enter. He was drenched when his paws finally touched the rich soil of their pack land, having slipped on stones and boulders that were slick with algae but gave no sign of distaste. His knowledge of the meeting was minimal, but it didn't seem to bother him much. Despite how connected he felt with his alpha a power like his would not be favored over sure fire trust; of which he did not have just yet.
All the male knew for sure was that something seemed different. Change was a beautiful thing; a change of scenery, a change of person, a change of color...Before his gaze fell on the loitering lot, he smiled. There was the shift in winds standing beside Sirius, her stance one of dignity but surely she felt some discomfort. A strange group of eyes watching her every move, keeping a meticulous count of every mistake she would make. She was the reason for all this…together, her and Sirius looked like two birds in a feather and if he knew no better he would have deduced the two were lovers. But there was no courtship here, he would have known of at least that.
Finding a seat away from the crowd, their shaman kept the same omnipotent grin fixed on his lips.

The male swiveled his eyes from one section of the gathered crow to the next, looking at each one individually - taking stock of who was present. He counted one missing, his trusted friend Adriana, but knew that she would come soon. Her powers were just beginning to show forth, and he always knew there was something special about her. He wasn't unconvinced that she was a seer and he was waiting for the day for her to reveal that to him. Until he was satisfied with Lalage and his shaman, even to the point he was surprised that he had managed to convince them both to join. The pack had accepted them readily.
Would they accept his damaged sister? There was only one way to find out.
"Brethren," he called out to the gathered pack, "I have called you here for one purpose and one purpose only. To bring faith, to bring hope! For too long have I been sheltered, been thrust into the darkness after Hedwig's departure." He paused there, her name giving him great grievance and he had to rile himself back up, to get in touch with the moment at hand once more. "It is a new dawn! A new moon and sun are coming. For I am bringing us new leadership, giving myself another paw to work these lands...I bring you my alpha sister."
As he looked over her he felt a tremor in his veins and hoped the crowd would accept.
Aimee's eyelids retracted unto their fullest as she let her alpha's words sink in. A new alpha? No, not one to replace Sirius, but one to help assist him. She didn't even know Sirius had a sister, but suddenly she felt a rush of confusion.
For his sake, and for her love of the pack she kept herself grounded, trying not to cry out in surprise.

((this is before Adriana's awakening as a seer))
Adriana remembered well her conversation with her alpha, touching awkwardly on his grief over Hedwig, his stunted ability to lead after her loss. And she could recall encouraging him to move on. But she had thought that would mean her alpha would begin to court again, to find a new alphess through those means.
It seemed he had looked closer to home.
His sister, eh? They looked... while, they looked it, that was certain. Where she had come from, where she had been, when Sirius had gone to fetch her... Adriana was unsure, and she cursed herself for being too distracted by other things -- her own wanderings -- to pay attention to the pack. Yet she welcomed this change, even more as some of the looks around her seemed hesitant.
"A matched pair, then," she said in her drawl. She could never match Sirius' way with language, but her speech did have its own rhythm. "Well, then. Let's get ready for forward motion."
