So we had some lovely new artwork done for the shop, we have some new templates for the incense burners, and even some new artists to help the shop. Things were set to start up again, however the new artwork has gathered a large layer of dust and the artists we hired have disappeared from existence. The shop is empty save for the people who care for it most.

I have a few ideas that, maybe will help to jump start this shop.

In order to get this shop on it's feet again we need to do a few things. First of all I think we need to figure out what each staff member wants to do for the shop and what they can do. It appears most staff members are busy with things IRL or on other parts of gaia, or just don't know what to do with reviving this shop. We need a list of hands that can say "yes, I'm available and I want this shop to get on this feet, I'm reliable and will help out in any way I can."

Still, getting people to help out is a very small requirement, because the major thing we need to do is give everyone a reason as to why we should do more for this shop, and we need to bring in new faces and make them think our shop is awesome and worth sticking around. In order to do that we need to think about what makes this shop different from every other shop. And I'll tell ya it's not the art. The art is super awesome and I love it, but there are other shops that offer good art too.

We have to remember that this shop is based of the manga "Pet shop of horrors" aka PSOH. The manga is full of action, horror, drama, and a tiny bit of humor to match. It has a intriguing plot line which delves into the idea that animals are much more intelligent and dangerous then we first thought. At the moment the shop doesn't really incorporated any of this, all it does is involve incense and the three terms listed as part of the contract. The roleplay that is involved is centered around a small number of people with their own internal plotlines. It doesn't have much room to grow. Another problem to mention is that the main characters that are used in the manga aren't available to us as NPCs. The only one we have is Count D. Lets not forget that, really, there is no benefit to roleplaying. Theres no perks for people who are dedicated members of the shop, no plotline to involve the people with, and more importantly theres no one to roleplay with.

What we really need to do is to create some plots that are central to the shop. I heard mention some ideas that involved a new detective that was investigating Count D. We should create one or more NPC detectives, and some more NPC animals that hang around the main entrance of the shop and interact with everyone. Then once we have those we can encourage people to make their own plotlines by adding perks. (like...I dunno, your pet becomes more powerful, you can get breeding tickets, maybe another stage. Or count d can give you a little pet animal familiar to assist you with stuff. I dunno.

Honesty I would love to see some plots that involved murders, or something a little dark and twisted that involved D and people would either be helping out the cops or helping to hide D, and during this even more weird s**t happens. But we'd have some normal cute roleplays to; sleepovers seem to be a fav so we can have sleepovers at counts shop.

Another thing to consider is to make sure a plot will not center around one player. I mentioned before we need multiple people, and this is why. Everyone here has other things to do and can't extend their full concentration to running a plot line all by themselves. We need lots of people so if one person can't continue someone else can.

Finlay, we need to distribute more pets and make people more aware of our presence. Honesty I think only 1 or 2 pets a month would suffice, you don't need 10 pets sold in a month, especially since this is a full artwork shop. While this happens we'll need to go around and advertise to others. Advertising is gooooddd. And once we have more people and pets running around we can give out even rarer things like dragons and s**t. Because most people will be hankering for a rare pet or a dragon.

So. Dudes, lets start...talking about s**t. I can offer my assistance in running some roleplays if you'd like. What about everyone else

-Someone somewhere chucks a party, and everyone is invited. Count D is there. Suddenly theres a blackout, and then someone turns up dead. Everyone shits their pants. The detective cop suspects Count D and count D comes up with some s**t. You could then have like a "Who the ******** did it" thing. Even more dead people can turn up.

-you find some people mis treating animals and you bring them to d and d asks you to go home them.

- Mafia or some other group kidnap D. WE MUST GO SAVE HIM

- Grab your pets and lets go to the vet. Lulz insures

- same as above but with shopping. Or the local swimming pool. Or a restaurant.

- I dunno if this would be good but as I mentioned before there could be actual cats and dogs and racoons and animals that could act as familiars and be given out through roleplay. like...A BABY RAPTOR.

- Count D's house is endless because you can walk in a door and end up in a different relam. A number of roleplays could surface from people exploring his shop and end up somewhere different.

as blade said, allowing pets to be available is important, but you also need something more if you want the roleplay part to thrive, and for this you need something that would make people want to stay around.

Honesty what you could do is to have freebie pets for people who roleplay. Basically a person with no PSOH pet would start to roleplay and, if they stick around for a few months and are unable to receive a pet, they can get one this way.

I'll also mention that, for me personally the motivation to roleplay comes from the fact that there are people here that I would love to start a roleplay with. People with awesome characters (and cosplays BD wink come in and do stuff and it looks really really fun. So the more people we can get to roleplay, the better it iwll be. Though honesty I think another major factor to consider is..you are able to get cosplays with pretty much powers intact from whatever. People with cosplays would always be fun to roleplay with because..people can interact with their favorite characters.

edit: before I forget to say, I would be reluctant to make any huge "auction/raffle/flatsale" events just yet because theres nothing else set up atm. People would come and get pets and then disappear off to never never land. Not to mention everyone else is busy in the artist department
