Ah, a love offering for you.

Did she eat any of it? I think that's what got my dog...probably chicken bones for her.

Although I suspect a guinea pig might not have such brittle bones.

Anyway, I hope she's ok. Mine's much better, and is insisting I walk her right now. rofl

Well, maybe it was just gas. Who knows? My mom's dog used to get gas, and we had to give her medicine for it. Anyway, I'm glad she's better! 4laugh

TMO ... poor guinea pig. cry

Well, she is appearing to be normal so far. Rowdy, which is a shame, because I seem to have gotten sick. *le sigh* Spent most of yesters asleep, and today...drug myself through work like a zomboid.

Hooray for happy doggies though! And thanks for all the good thoughts, everyone. I appreciate it.

@TMO: How's your pup doing, btw?

Ah, good.

My doggy killed a huge squirrel a few days ago. It was a monster. D:

I am so grateful my dog isn't a gift giving huntress. She's more a people hoarding snuggle bug.

I guess if she had a yard instead of an apartment to run around in, she'd probably change her ways.

What'd you do when presented with said squirrel?

Awwwwwh, I hope everybodies dogs are doing well... It's horrible when my dog is sick, I get so worried...
...
My dog never brings me anything other then socks.
Not that there's many squirrels or guinea pigs running around my back garden.

{new kid on the block}

Ahem, I am a weather geek
and also monitor the CDC and other disease news,
and I regret to caution you about the following:

Canine influenza (that jumped species barrier from horses)
has no vaccine or cure except nursing,
CDC doesn't think it would infect humans
unless it recombines.

H5N1 avian influenza has been shown
to infect all birds and mammals
(fish are still unknown) wink
but dogs or cats eating birds dead of flu
is the most likely vector to spread the virus
in North America, other than some sick person
on a jet flight.

If your pet eats a dead animal (or sick animal
that is slow enough to get caught)
-- especially if said pet gets sick within a day or two --
please be very careful and
* wash your hands frequently with soap and water
* don't handle your pet and then touch eyes or mouth
* keep kids away!!
* keep the sick pet away from other animals
* if you get sick, go to the ER and tell the docs the cause before breathing on them.

I am lucky, my cats are old and retired from hunting.

My dog caught a squirrel, killed it, then brought it inside and put it on our hearth to boast to my parents about what a good hunter she is. haha i'm glad i wasn't there to see it.

I am hoping the "bird flu" thing
is just a scare and eventually
we'll think of it as
something that worried us for a bit
and then faded away.

Yeah, like SARS. Nobody ever talks about it anymore.
