In a world of ninja, only the Samurai stand so proud
as to defy them with wit and sword alone. Courage
over reason, honor over courage- they stand against
all that challenges their might.
The Land of Iron (鉄の国, Tetsu no Kuni) is an icy,
snow-covered country. It is politically unusual in that
it has remained neutral and never been involved in the
ninja wars. In fact, the shinobi have a rule since long
ago that they would not meddle with the land. Despite
this, it is said to have an incredibly strong military
which, instead of ninja, is manned by samurai.
Recently a powerful business man has taken over
the reigns of the Land, his focus is on profit and his
motives are in constant question. With a seemingly
endless supply wealth he has paid strong warriors
from the world over to reside in the village. He does
not RUN the village- that's the honored job of the
General, however he essentially holds all the power
in the village due to his wealth. This has earned the
Land of Iron the nickname "Ryōgakure" or "The
Village Hidden in Ryō" (Money).
The Inkei clan stands as the Lands sole representatives
in the Uzumaki Alliance, though the Land of Iron remains
unaffiliated with the Alliance itself.
