((Leopards are usually prepared for a swift attack and a swift kill. They don't plan for a defense, hence Hantoresu's head-on tactics. A leopard's only defenses really is either to run away or climb up a tree despite their immense power-per-pound output.))

William chuckled when he watched Takena launch into the air, “For a predator who’s getting their butt kicked, you sure know exactly how to give away every advantage you—” “GRRAOW! Shut it! I know what I’m doing,” she interjected before William laughed once more. She had become slightly stuck in the mud-like soil, “You realize there’s a grenade behind you right? It’s about to go off too.” Hantoresu’s eyes widened at the news before she attempted to lunge away, but the soil was far too soft to get a great grip on in a hurry. She had gotten only a few feet away when the grenade went off; the soft earth was like shrapnel and the blades of grass like microblades cutting her all over. “GRRAOOO….” she growled in pain while feeling the full force of the blast instead of William. She was thrown forward and hard onto the now solid ground, and came to a halt only after the still standing grass put in a few more cuts. William winced when he could feel the pain again, “He found out that you were in control, you know.” The blue sparks still ran over his body, but Hantoresu wasn’t responding. “Hey, I’m talking to you!”

He heard the distinct sound of a waterfall nearby before he was suddenly pulled into his inner world to the edge of the pool of water under said waterfall. “Wh-why am I here?” he asked while he walked up to the edge of the water to take a drink. As far as water went, he thought it tasted delicious, and it was cool as well. “There has got to be something wrong with drinking water out of your own mind,” he said with a chuckle after wiping his mouth. He was about to stand up again when he heard what he thought was to sound of someone crying. His eyes opened wide when he saw a gory trail of blood leading around the pool. Something felt really off, but that was besides the trail of blood. He cautiously followed the trail around the pool until he came to the rocks just next to the fall. To his amazement, there was a small pathway along the rocks and into what looked like a hidden cave. “The crying is definitely coming from there,” he thought before slowly walking behind the waterfall and into the cave.

“H-hantoresu?” he asked with curiosity when he walked in. His eyes adjusted to the light in the cave and they fell upon the weeping form of Hantoresu’s human side. The blood trail led directly to her and it was very apparent that she had been severely wounded. “Hantoresu! What happened to you?!” She suddenly gasped and spun around while standing. “You….” she seethed between gritted teeth. Her skins began to shift as fur sprouted everywhere on her. Bones audibly popped and the whole shifting moment looked almost grotesque. “You!” she shouted with a thunderous boom of her voice. Sparks began to jump off her and to the wet surrounding. In a second’s time, she had pinned him against the wall with an unnatural arm of fur and a very strong grip. “You made me feel those things! The…the pain—ngh….” Her grip faltered and then fell while the wound on her arm squeezed out a little blood. William fell to the floor panting from having the air choked out of him. “Hantoresu….I-I didn’t….wish for you to feel that….” She growled at him, but she couldn’t bring herself to do anything more than speak, “Liar.” He crawled over to her on his hands and knees, for she hadn’t gone far. At first, she almost batted him away, but she stayed her hand when he put his hand on her shoulder. “Believe me, I didn’t mean it to happen. All I wanted was for you to stop acting alone. Like you first told me today: we are one.” She began to shift back to her human form while she stood back up. He accompanied her over to the waterfall and took some of the water into his hands. Without words, they cleaned her wounds and sat back down where they had been before. “So…” he said once they had sat for a few minutes. “Will you give me back control of my body and not take control again unless I allow it?” She looked at him while she debated his request; her nod was all he needed before he stood back up and hugged her goodbye.

His eyes opened and then closed again while he coughed from the previous physical treatment. “Ow… that one hurt, Takena,” he said with a chuckle while he struggled to get back up on his own. The blue sparks had vanished, and he was fully in control once again. His joints popped in a few places while he stretched and inspected himself for wounds. “That was a very interesting experience to say the least.” He held his head while his ears still rang from the detonation of the most recent grenade of Takena’s arsenal. “How much more fighting do you exactly want to do? I’m tired, my Zanpakuto’s injured, and I still haven’t returned to my normal form,” he said while examining the crusty blood on his fingertips where inch-long claws still protruded. “Yes I’m whining, but I’ve gone through more physical torment than I did in Hell Week back on Earth. Look it up some time if you don’t know what it is.” He jumped up and down for a moment while warming up his new feet and hands. His eyes searched thoroughly around in a circle for his opponent while simultaneously checking the sky as well. His ears pick up the swishing of the weight from before, and he turned to face his opponent. “I can only go on for a little more before I pass out, and I’m not letting her take control again if you were contemplating pushing me over that limit.”

(( No more than any other creature- though I do find some of their adaptive natures facinating. I also used the arachnid as a template for both a shimigami and hollow version of Charles. ninja Is the fight over so soon . . . did you get permission for Shikai? ))

Charles lands carefully, his weapon ready and still charging. He studies William's reaction to the weapon, noting the electrical charges. He hadn't seen them till now because of his constant motion and need to improvise. Now the beastial release takes a good hit, and collapses to the ground- hard. Odd . . . that isn't too hard a hit . . . Moments later he sees William open his eyes again and the sparks end. Theories abound in his head as he remains ready to discharge an ever-growing web net. Then William does something that he has not done in some time: talk.

Charles slows his weapon, but does not lower his guard yet. He carefully studies body language and the wounds inflicted, wondering what is going on. After several moments, he quietly decides to let this go. Looking off to the side, he hates to waste his energy, but the buildup has been too well established. Throwing the weighted end towards his left- far away from William, he releases a broad web that extends with blinding speed in a cone, only to hit air and fall to the ground. Looking to William, Charles yanks on his weapon and says nothing as the ksurigama glows silver again and shrinks into a katana. Replacing the blade, he takes cautious steps toward his partner for this spar, and offers a hand with the obvious intention of helping him walk.
"Takena is my last name, given to the general populace. To you, my name is Charles." placing an arm across his shoulders, Charles tries to support William's weight and begins to walk at what he feels is a comfortable pace for his friend.

"It was always my intention to make sure you get to squad four as soon as we ended. Perhaps I pushed too hard, and for that I apologize. I theorized that your shapeshifting was related to shikai, the primary release of your zanpaktou. Furthermore, I surmised that you were a combat type- one that needs to be pushed into the situation for maximum effect. None of my attacks were meant to kill, but if I had told you that, you might not have put as much effort into stopping me. I had hoped you would learn the command to release your sword and form, thus giving you a more definitive control over the change. Seems that was not quite done yet." Moving through the field, Charles makes a mental note to return later for his equipment, and he deactivates his visor. The memory should hopefully hold for later, but for now he has little need for analysis.

Gripping his shoulder a bit tighter, Charles holds William to him.
"Hold on, I have a faster way . . . " Thankful that he used tricks rather than physical skills in the fight, Charles concentrates his energy on movement, speeding through the laboratories towards the gate out. No need to dilly-daddle.

((I guess so. You can only fight for so long before one of the two parties gets too tired or you just loose the initial enthusiasm from the first 23 posts. Heck that was just about long enough to be a Captain challenge. And no, I haven't sent in my application for Shikai. I thought you had to be part of the guild for at least 2 months before you could even apply for it.))

William’s eyes watched wearily while the weapon continued to swing. It began to slow, causing a sigh of relief to leave him before he relaxed a little. His eyes widened when Takena shot an entire web of the sticky stuff to his left, “Glad I didn’t fight any longer; I wouldn’t have been able to dodge that,” he thought to himself while he observed his surroundings. He truly relaxed his stance when Takena returned his weapon back to normal. “Thank you, Charles,” he said in complete honesty while allowing himself to be helped. He felt lightheaded from the loss of blood, his wounds were slowly starting to regain feeling. William doesn’t set his entire weight on Takena; he set only enough to lessen the burden on his wounded left leg. At Charles’ words it became obvious why he had pushed William so far. “Fight or flight, I get it.” “When I get the time, we need to talk with one another,” he told Hantoresu with an informative voice rather than a condescending voice. He gripped slightly tighter when Charles told him to, and suddenly they were traveling at what he saw were impossible speeds, “Woaw.”

Returning to the field, Charles puts his visor back on and activates the system. With a sigh of relief he sees that the memory is intact. With ease, he returns around the field picking up each DART, and the remnants of his equipment. Still, in his mind he has trouble avoiding those green eyes . . . while visiting the fourth squad, a woman woke him with the most beautiful green eyes. She was . . . NO! Stop this! I am a scientist, not some overzealous teenager. Shaking his head violently to clear his thoughts, Charles looks down to the systems of his SHOD disk. "Well. They scanner works, as does the transmitter and power supply, so that's good. It broke so easily, though. I can't add armor to the speaker, but perhaps some more dorsal armor? That might help." As Charles contemplates how to improve the system he moves back towards his labs
