Sarah sat up in a dark cave she hadn't seen for years. Since her baby brother Toby had been kidnapped by....
Sarah bit back a curse. Drat. Jareth. This had to be Jareth's idea of fun. Only he could have this sick sense of humor, dragging the female who'd outwitted him before underground when she was unconscious.
She sighed. Well, at least she'd gotten through these caves before. Just...years ago...and from the other direction. Drat. Dratdratdratdratdrat. Hoisting herself to her feet, she noticed a distinctive ripping sound and the feeling of something being torn from her body as she got up.
Turning around, she saw glittering white fabric, and realized she was in the dress again. Jareth's sense of fashion was impeccable, it was just his inscrutable sense of humor that had led him to abduct her, put her in a dress, and leave her to navigate this cavern system again. Alone. Backwards. For the first time in years.
"The Labyrinth Caverns. It doesn't seem so hard this time," she muttered to herself. "Well, come on, feet."

Jareth sat at a lone window in a tower of his castle, looking out to his massive maze with an unchanging expression. He finally had her back in his grasp, back in his domain.
He looked into a crystal orb floating beside him to see that Sarah had finally awoken and was on the move.
"Well the game has finally begun," he said calmly. "I'll pay her a visit soon enough."
Jareth waved to the floating crystal and images or Sarah's last journey through the labyrinth appeared inside, another wave and the orb was off to Sarah.
"This time," he breathed and leaned against the window ledge, "Things will go according to plan."

A crossroads. Damn. These caverns were filled with such crossroads, paths that disappeared and reappeared at random, all without any warning. Time wasn't helping in the least bit here. Sarah sighed and swallowed a scream of frustration at her predicament.
None of her old friends and allies seemed to be anywhere. The Labyrinth Caverns had been teeming with life before, but now, it was as devoid of life as Jareth's heart seemed to be. Had he chased everyone out? It would be just like him.
And Sarah was now lacking any way of marking where she'd already been, and very little way of telling directions in this darkness, given the poor lighting from holes punctured along the ceilings to allow in the frail daylight. Damn, damn, damn. Jareth seemed to have gone out of his way to get revenge on her and keep her here, against her will and lost, forever.
