"So, You want to battle with a random team of Pokemon?!"

Roulette Battle:
A "Roulette" Battle is a very rare occurrence on the set WiFi circuit. Most people tend to avoid Roulette battles as they have the chance to ruin one's winning streak.

Lets get started.

What is a Roulette Battle?
Why thank you guildmember! A Roulette battle is a battle involving the total commitment of the battlers. The randomization allows one to think on their feet and develop new, and unique strategies as opposed to the norm.

Can you break it down for us?

Of Course! A Roulette battle is a Standard 6on6 Pokemon battle between two or more combatants, The difference between a Roulette and a Standard match becomes apparent in the selection of Pokemon.

In a Roulette battle; your opponent and yourself agree to a set number of competitive pokemon, This number MUST exceed 12. The widely accepted number in a standard roulette is 30.
You and your opponent then choose numbers between 1 and your set maximum. Once you have each chosen Six numbers the battle may begin.

Wow! Thats so cool! What are the rules?
I'll tell you.

1. During a Roulette battle Total Honesty is a must.
2. The pokemon corresponding with the number your opponent named first is your Lead.
3. Item Clause and Species Clause are Null and Void. This is due to the randomization of a Roulette battle, The Item clause may be active and your items may have to be changed. It is easier to just leave it off.
4. Pokemon listed in the UBER tier are not allowed to be counted in a Roulette Battle.
5. Standard Pokemon Battling Rules.
6. Do not accuse your opponent of cheating, to enter a roulette battle you must have the utmost trust in your opponent, therefore if they somehow got a Rain Dance team with the appropriate lead, accept it and move on.

TIPS

Now how could one develop tips for a random teamed pokemon battle?
Simple! Instead of keeping your pokemon organized by tier or team : just have them randomized in your box!
Rotate your items; This trick can allow you to surprise your opponent with a Petaya Berry Gengar or a Choice Scarved Lickilicky.
Make Lots of pokemon, If you have an Idea for a pokemon, go for it!
Say your opponent gets a lead Garchomp and you get a Lead Weezing, at first you may think your unlucky, but Weezing is immune to the STAB Earthquake and if EV'd Properly can take quite a few hits from any opposing pokemon!

Tricks!
An easy trick to learn is that most people will try to pick the center number of each set of ten, (being 5,15,25 etc.) and due to the minds ability to see a pattern will base the rest of the choices off of that number. Now this trick will only work when your starting out, later on it can become a deadly adversary.

Some might view the above as cheating, but the randomization of pokemon is also dependent on the pattern seen by the opponent, Your pokemon may be scattered but that does not mean you can't have a pattern!

6-9-27-12-24-1

Roulette Battles can be great to test out pokemon combinations you never could have dreamed of! The possibilities are endless!

Now I hope you've enjoyed this look into the wonders of Roulette battling. Keep training and Keep Fighting!
