I want to buy a bass but I'm not sure what kind. I was thinking about getting either a 5 string Warwick or Fender. Any suggestions?

What kinda music you play? What kinda tone you looking for? Warwic is famous for that nice deep low groul. I haven't played much of fenders stuff.. but I have read that it has a very standard rock tone. However the tone is VERY eazly modifyed with pedals and effects.

Start out with a fender.
Its what Mike Dirnt plays, Mark Hoppus plays one as well. So you'll get the sound from one that you like,
Fenders are also good learning tools.

Buy my farting johnson, its has to be every ones first bass! domokun
No, but really, I agree with my home boy Naz over there...Fenders have a good sound, for a good price..a standered Jazz is about 450-475. Good bass, good price..Or if your really on a budget, go as low as a squire..They make GRATE first guitars..

Rurik_16 What is a good Metal/Hard rock bass? a good metal/ hard rock bass eh.......try to go to a big guitar store, like in my area there is guitar center, then look around for a unique bass of a brand maybe that you havent even heard of. but one things for sure, if you want the best dont be cheap, 1. it has to be made in america, its the only way to go. and 2. be expected to pay more than $700 minimum (unless you can talk them down significantly). And this is exactly what i did, i got a Schecter and it was $700, and i talked um down to $600, made in america, and im very happy. blaugh

Green Day was awesome. Dookie, Warning, International Superhits; all good stuff. Now they're all Pop and eyeliner.
