Each step away from his goal was like a icy thorn working it's way through his mind. It ate at him that he was wasting such time on a wounded stranger. It was only the continued reminder that this would benefit him in the end that kept him from casting aside his burden. Naolin seemed to him to be recovering well enough. He wanted him in complete health though. When Naolin was recovered fully he would be an asset in his search. At the most he could use the other to carry more supplies. That would mean they could travel longer and farther. At the least he could be used to fend off some monsters they came across. Who knew. He was pretty enough to make use of as well if the urge overcame him. Maybe. Spire was of two minds really concerning the male. Though he admired and wished to touch and taste. He had no desire to create a deadly hateful enemy when he needed to travel so long in the underwilds. That was merely a recipe for disaster.
So, to better ensure Naolin's recovery and prepare for his next searching venture Spire had chosen to return to the small city of Kelthis. Before they made it to the city itself, he stopped long enough to remove his silver mask and used it's magic to transform it into a simple silver band around his left middle finger. He felt uneasily naked without the mask upon his face. He enjoyed the benefits it granted him immensely. But to wear such a mask would have been far too risky in this little cut-throat of a city. Spire narrowed his silvery blue eyes and wrinkled his slender nose as his eyesight returned to it's unaltered state. "Feh. We are here. Stay quiet when we enter the city. I do not want anyone fishing for clues as to our purpose." He cautioned Naolin.

Naolin followed a few steps away from Spire, snugged deep in his heavy cloak. He shrugged his answer, shifting his gear. "If that is master's wishes," he purred slighly mocking. He lifted a hand making sure his own symbol was safely tucked in his shirt, fingers foundly rubbing the expanse though blue cloth. Then ran one though his hair making sure it covered his eye. It would not do to broad cast weaknesses.

Spire cast a glance back at Naolin after his mocking response. He fought the urge to reach back and smack the young man. No... he would not physically abuse him. At least not here when he could run off so easily. Instead he focused on leading Naolin to the nearest tavern. Entering, he glanced over the room quickly and found it not to his liking at all. There were too many drow within. Too many eyes watching as he moved towards the counter. Too many minds that could turn to thoughts against him.
"One room. One night." Spire spoke to the man behind the counter before he had a chance to speak. The drow behind the counter parted his lips and looked behind him. More then likely at Naolin. "One." He cut in curtly. Naolin would have to deal with the fact they would share a bed this night was all.

Naolin grined showing to many teeth to be friendly as Spire glanced back, bending his fingers cheerfully in a little wave. He hummed, carefully skirting the people eyeing the tavern. It looked popular and rather busy not the best place to lay low but at least they should have decent food. He was hungry.
Naolin walked carefully, cloak pulled tight to keep it from snagging. He shifted slidding away from Spire to give a slight smile to the clerk. Mmm, one room would be fine.

Spire wasted no time in the main room. With so many eyes upon himself and Naolin, he did not wish to give any of them long enough of a time to observe and determine just what sort of opportunity they presented. The drow behind the counter handed over a simple copper key, and Spire pressed three copper coins into his palm rather then setting them down on the counter. He did not want anyone to see the color of his coins, nor the amount. It would leave them guessing in accordance to his wealth and how long he intended on staying. With a sharp snap of his fingers aimed at Naolin, Spire brusquely strode down the side hall. It was not until he had opened the door with a mark on the wooden door frame that matched the key in his hand that he exhaled a slightly relieved breath. "We will rest up here for a few hours. Then we must obtain the provisions we need and leave. I want to be gone before the start of the next day." Spire informed Naolin as he rolled his shoulders to ease the straps of his pack from them.

Naolin sigh as Spire hurried along, running a hand slowly through his hair, slowly parting a few knots at the end. The other was tense, some what amature in his body language. He tilted his head giving a sweet airhead smile at the innkeeper and replied to the snapping fingers with a purring. "Yes, m'lord." It would be best if everyone took this to be a tryst of somesort. Naolin added a slight sway to his walk, staying on Spire heels till then entered.
"Mmm, if you say so," he muttered shifting off the heavy cloak and pack, curling up on the bed.

Spire dropped his pack on the floor near the head of the bed, then took a moment to investigate the small window. He disliked how easy it seemed to be to sway inwards. As Naolin settled himself on the bed, Spire withdrew a slender silver etching pen from his decorative bracer and gouged a few runes into the stone surface. Ice crackled over the frame of the window, securing it magically from being opened with its grip. Spire turned to spy Naolin curled up on the bed and he ran his silver eyes over the male once.
"I dislike this town. There are too many here who would enjoy taking advantage of us, and too few who would care to stop them. I only wish to linger here long enough to rest and restock. The less time they have to get around to assaulting us the better." He explained as he crossed over to the bed as well. Spire reached down and gently smacked Naolin's foot. "Lay towards the edge of the bed. I wish to lay with my back to the wall."

Naolin mmmed, pushing his silvery hair from his, face purple and mostly blinded silver eye shifting to meet Spire's before falling back to the smooth sheets. "It is like every town, someone will always wish to take advantage, most will never lift a finger, and none will voice a alarm." He shrugged smoothly, pushing back toes tangling against Spire's clothing. "But I don't wish to have my back to the door m'lord," he purred finger kneeding Spire's skin.

Spire crawled into the bed. His lower back was aching somewhat and the feel of a actual bed, no matter how poor of one, felt good under him. He closed his eyes for a moment and exhaled a slow breath. When Naolin would purr and make his little pouting protest, he peeled open a eye to look at the other. "Well then. I guess I will just roll you under me. The bed could use a little more padding in my opinion." He spoke while casually moving to drape a arm and leg over Naolin.
