So, I'm gonna post what I had attempted to start but could never get it off the ground. It also, well never got finished. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Welcome to the Reconstruction. AKA The Story. Note: Disclaimer, Fallout 3 is owned and licensed by Bethesda Softworks. I do not own or license any of Fallout 3 or the references, and concepts I am borrowing. This is own my creation of a roleplay based on a different element not expressed or used in the original game. For this project I will provide an abridged version of the history and then the story that ties in the world of Fallout 3 to my retelling and canon manipulation. For the full history of the game series please follow this link. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_worldWar. War is a nightmare which no living creature can avoid. Even at the end of days, there will be war among the survivors. This is no different. After the Great War of 2077, ended with a two hour Nuclear Strike that affected every nation the world was destroyed. In the United States however there was Project Safeguard, a plan to protect its people inside underground self-sustaining facilities known as Vaults. The United States, having spent so many years of false alarms and strange scares, didn't believe when the bombs started to fall, and many were lost in the mushroom clouds and aftermath. Before long the world was bathed in radiation and death. The ones that survived in the vaults were locked away safely to be safe from the world above, the death and destruction instead to face the madness of living underground. For those that were unlucky... for those that didn't make it underground, for those that weren't fortunate enough to die they became something worse. They were mutated into the disgusting ghouls, some became the zombies of myth and folklore. Some however developed intelligence and tried to survive much to the disdain of the Enclave, The Brotherhood of Steel, and the majority surviving people of the world. The former Vault Dwellers of the United States slowly emerged from their bunkers to a world of death and dismay. Slowly but surely these Vault Dwellers started their lives over again, and began to reestablish order in a world full of chaos and destruction. It has been over two hundred years since the bombs fell and not much has changed. Though there are now cities and governments, many people are still petty and hateful of one another all across the nation. For the Capital Wasteland, it has become a war zone, everyone fighting for what they can get in order to survive, the towns are the few places that have some kind of order and control in the chaotic world.. the world needs more cities the world needs more control the world needs more order. Come out of the cities and start anew we must save the Wasteland to save the world. This is the message on a distress beacon, it has been repeated all over the Wasteland over and over again for the last week. No one has stopped it or gone to it, until now. A group of people from varying cities have set out for this signal to find its source, to find the meaning behind the words of the raspy male. This is life.... this is life in Hell on Earth.

Character Creation and Skills: One of the main aspects of this RP will be a slight rpg/building aspect. While my original concept was borderline psychotic, this new version is greatly reduced down to simplified measures. For the stats in the RP there are five ranks. Expert, Proficient, Skilled, Experienced, Hobby. In order to level up from each rank certain conditions have to be met which occur during the RP. The active pursuit of knowledge in that field such as reading books on the subject, being apart of projects in that field, trial and error experimentation and replication of more experienced in the field, or learning from an Expert in the field. Finally there is the genius moment of using a tool, by that I mean using it in a clever way to get the job done. Example, using a machine gun one bullet at a time rather than a spray, using your radio to send out a remote denotation frequency, making a trap using things that aren't usually used like pipe wrenches being dropped on heads or blowtorches in the floor. Please note that for all skills you are permitted. 1 Proficient, and 2 in Skilled and Experienced. NO ONE IS AN EXPERT FROM THE START. Everything else must be considered hobbies. These are the explanations of the skills. Negotiation- The ability to get what you want through words rather than aggression. It is helpful to Barter for supplies or avoid fighting through Speech. Ballistic Weapons- If it uses conventional ammo you can shoot it, handguns, shotguns, machine guns, rifles, etc, everything from this day any age. Close Range Combat- Getting your hands dirty is your talent, whether your hitting someone in the head with a brick, a 2x4 or your five knuckles, you know how to make em bleed. Specialized Weapons- Your a whiz at the specialized weapons. Plasma and Energy guns make you squeel with excitement knowing your enemy can become ash or goo at your bullets. Your also skilled with explosives as if you didn't need any more firepower at your command. Survivalist- You're rough and tough, you've survived the harsh wasteland away from the cities and people. You can sneak around enemies and steal supplies, you know how to bust open locks and repair stuff that would make MacGyver proud. Medicine- Whether its bandaging a paper cut or stitching an arm back on a body, you know your stuff. Your knowledge of chemicals and first aid makes you invaluable in the Wasteland. Science- Much like the profession of Medicine you are needed, by the logical world, though many will argue that guns are the answer, you know how to break into computers, you can advance things such as engineering buildings, better weapons, and other technologies perfect for starting a new city. Strength- This is simple, this is what factors in if you can break down objects, how much you can lift, push, pull. Also how many pounds of inventory you can carry on your back. Ties in very nicely with Close Range Combat. I ask that your character types please be human or a sentient ghoul(Sentient meaning has intelligence and retained their humanity). No super mutants, or freaks or monsters. Differences between humans and ghouls. Humans, can traverse to other towns without being hated by others for appearances, aside from the class struggles of rich or poor in certain areas. They have better healing naturally and can eat food to survive. Humans also are more resistant to damage that can cripple limbs. They are prone to suffering radiation poisoning from areas, water sources, tainted food, but are clever enough to rebuild things better than a Ghoul, and more likely to create stable buildings and living conditions where as Ghouls, would invade it to take it for themselves. Ghouls, are outcasts and hunted by humans, monsters, just like humans. However, in the fallout of the radiation covering the landscape in many places, Ghouls are unaffected by that, and are actually healed by it as opposed to Humans who suffer from it. They are also seen as somewhat equals to the Super Mutants, and as a result unless they have to fight for survival, the two groups are on neutral terms. Ghouls also, do not need human food to survive, but instead feast on the flesh of enemies and animal meat. Ghouls are more likely to suffer crippling limbs due in part to their decayed flesh and joints. (put N/A for those that don't apply to anything.) Explainations of matters and conditions of the RP. There are many things going on that will either confuse or annoy the lots of you, but don't worry I'm here to guide you and infuriate you further in my attempt to help out! So we'll start with something simple.... INVENTORY! As you'll all see you'll have a Pip-Boy 3000, this is your universial knowledge tool. It is a mini-computer on your arm that can pick up radio signals, display maps of the area document locations, scan notes to save to its hard drive for later use, record audio holo logs and display the amount of radition your body has been exposed to along with several health concerns you may experience! Important notes, radio signals, will be displayed in a separate section The weight, now all of you aren't He-men or She-hulks so you'll be only able to carry X amount of weight the max being 350 lbs the lowest being 150 lbs, most of the things you pick up in the Wasteland will have a weight value and be attachted, very rarely will that not be the case, and if so X number of them will start having a weight. Currency of the RP and real game is Caps, bottle caps off a soda bottle due in part to the lack of ability to collect and create the paper money. While pre-war money is still in existance it bought by collectors or traders for a small sum of money. Fast Trek, much like in the game after you discover a location you can go there, without worrying about being attacked, but only if your not in distress. However, time will progress as normal and you'll lose the random encounters along the way. Time, I personally hate when after 3 real months, and 200 posts, only two hours have past so we'll be running off my version of time in the game. You must always be doing something, things to do in locations will have a block of time attachted when I present the options for that location, so while conversing try and do a longer activity, I'll display time every few posts, if its just action and stuff. Random Events, Random Numbers. The RP will have numerous moments of using Random Numbers, which can be found in your posts as options above the post. The lucky numbers you use for your character will be the ones that help you. Now, as an Expert in Science your trying to examine the usefulness of several computers for parts, as an Expert you get 8 out of 10 of your lucky numbers (the first 8 ) The more of your numbers you get for the rolls, the better the odds of you finding something useful. As a group, the Missions you can take will have a start up number by me for how many randoms you can get doing the mission, and then secretly from your eyes, I'll have a number for how many good, bad or neutral. Missions, from time to time some will be requested of your group from the NPCs, or some are self created after finding out about places in the area. In any case most rewards will be simple and the bonuses, well luck of the draw. Fights, fights will be tricky but not too bad. And will be simple hopefully, again the random number generator will be used for number of bullets used but some I can trust for you guys to do as well on your own with your honesty, I mean if your using a machine gun and its new to your character he isn't going to magically kill an entire group with one bullet each. NOTE: This is part adventure, part rpg, part real life sim, however for many of the real life sim stuff, like construction and stuff you will have handy NPCs to do lots of the grunt labor. I'll be controlling the character sheets so I can update them regularly with your stuff. I'll update this with more explanations later but again this link can be your guide to a lot of things. Helpful guide

Sample Post Concepts: Okay okay I know this looks really really pretentious to say this is how I want you to post but because of the strangeness (and I think its strange) of my RP concept I thought maybe I'd show what my brain is thinking of in terms of process. And we'll be using Jack a Science Expert with Proficiency in Survivalist and Micheal. I'll also show you some ideas about types of combat and examples of time that won't be so properly displayed. Jack is on a mission to salvage parts from a recently crashed air transport ship. 12:47pm, Jack approached the wreckage of the ship finding the area charred with the gas tank exploding. The ship's hull was smashed open by a large laser weapon which caused it to go down. As Jack approached he wormed his way into the hole of the wreckage and started to explore the interior of what looked like an engine room. Immediately walking in he found an armored soldier of the Enclave lying dead by the main turbine, (random number up, failed) upon closer inspection his armor was dead weight, ready to be destroyed with someone breathing on it too heavily, and his weapon was crushed under the turbine. Moving on from the trapped man Jack kept walking through to what seemed like a still functioning engine(good roll). His eyes slowly lit up as he started to dissemble the engine, finding over a dozen usable alloy plates, a fission battery, and a plasma generator converter that was still usable. Though as he tried to walk out he found himself over weighed and ended up tossing a rifle he carried around but with no usable parts to fix it, seemed useless to hold on to. Now, this was also blending with a response post made by a thread master on what they could potentially find. Had it been separated Jack would have posted where he would look in the engine room, but also the threadmaster would explain what was in the room as he entered it. Well lets clear it up more. The thread master post, then Jack's response, then the threadmaster. Same example mission as before. As Jack enters the engine room he finds himself surrounded by shorted out computers and small fires. In the room is a dead Enclave Soldier under a turbine fallen loosen from one of the three blown out engines in center of the room. Along the sides of the walls of the engine room there are several rows of disabled computers. the response Jack looked around the room in disbelieve of what happened. He knew the destruction would be bad, but he didn't think it would be that bad. As he looked around the room he started to examine the dead Enclave Soldier, in case there was some hope for him. After that he went around the room examining the blown out engines and disabled computers trying to find any useful information or parts to salvage. The new response via thread master The attempt by Jack to examine the Dead Enclave Soldier was wasted time. The turbine from the engine which was useless crushed everything usable on the soldier including his plasma rifle. Meanwhile the search around the place was somewhat successful for the experienced Scienist. Amongst the engines Jack could grab at least a bag of nuts and bolts, ten alloy plates, two fission batteries, and a plasma generator converter. From the computers, nothing could be salvaged but from one, a message kept being repeated giving co-ordinates to a supply station being held by the Enclave, using slave labour to maintain it. Jack's final response Jack checked his Pip-Boy and recorded the location on his map for the supply station for later on. As he looked at the engines he filled up a bag of nuts and bolts, the alloy plates, only one of the fission batteries, and the plasma generator converter, all of it was needed for a new tool, an Ammo Press Jack wanted to work on with Marcus the Ballistic Expert, with it they could convert the useless ammo into something for the turret that was protecting the city.
