Anya grumbled as she flobbed down under a over grown oak tree. The blue harpy had been hunting all night, alone no doubt with no help from her fellow sisters. It was a rare sight but Anya had strayed away from her herd for a night to go exploring/ hunting on her own. Sadly all night she hadn't been doing so well, all she caught was a old rabbit and that alone was just a snack for her. Then it started raining, which made her mane and tail full of feathers damp and uncomfortable.
There was nothing Anya could do for now. Her sisters were well over five miles away, plus the ground was too wet try and walk back. It was just a miserable day, she couldn't really see what else could go worse. She didn't know that she wasn't alone in the forest as she thought she was.

Dark clouds covered the sky as the night passed on, blocking out much of the light that usually shown down from the moon and stars. Nykto had found this night to be especially troublesome. He didn't mind the rain, finding it to be comforting and soothing. If only he could find some light in this darkness, or some company. He longed for company, and he didn't care what form it came in.
After wandering out in the open for most of the night with the rain pouring down on him, he finally decided to head to the shelter of the forest to await morning. After finding a drier spot beneath a large tree, he realized just how wet he was. He was soaked; his cape hung limply down one side, his mane was plastered against his face. And on top of that, he was starved. He hadn't even realized it until now. He looked around, it wouldn't be likely to find any sort of fruits around here it didn't seem, and grass would never do. So that left meat. It'd be easy enough to hunt something to eat, but he really didn't want meat at all.
As his thoughts went on, he finally came to notice the presence of some other being in the forest. He moved into the shadows as he listened carefully. Yes, the was definitely someone else. For quite a while he listened and waited, trying to determine if it was something he could eat. When finally whatever it was fell still, he decided to approach.
He stayed to the shadows as he silently moved nearer and waited in the darkness as he watched. He could now see what it was; a very unique looking mare, from what he could tell. If she could still be considered a mare with her strange features.
Suddenly he stepped out from the shadows. "Why, hello there," he said with a small dark smile.

Her eyelids had just started to fall over her pure white eyes. She wasn't sleeping, she couldn't anymore without the safety of her sisters around. But she needed to rest, rest and wait till this stupid storm was over. When a deep voice rang in through out the area. Right off the bat she could tell it was a male, from just how deep the voice was. She tensed when she turned her head around to look at the male. The white made him stand out in the darkness like sore thumb. But his bat wings and devil tail showed off what race he was, A kalona. Great! Just what she needed today. Normally she wouldn't care, she may even bring the male back to her flock as a prize. But now she was too weak, she could barely walk let alone fight if it need be. Even if she wasn't happy about it Anya would have to watch herself around the male.
She nodded her head gently at the male. "Why are you here, male?" She asked. To her this was about as much respect as a male would get with any harpy.

He raised a brow slightly at her 'greeting'. Despite the position she was in, looking fairly miserable laying there, he could sense some hint of superiority in her voice. The way she addressed him almost seemed as though she actually thought herself better than him. He brushed it off, being much more curious about her looks than her opinions right now.
"I don't think you're in any position to be asking questions of me, little bird." He spoke the nickname he'd given her as though it were a term of endearment. He smiled softly as he took a few steps nearer to her.

She sneered at him. It toke all she had not to bite his head off. "And why do you think that batty?" She tried not to growl at him but was failing. With him moving closer she got up from the ground, not letting herself be open to a attack from him. Her claws digged into into the ground as she eyed him up. "I'll ask you again batty, what do you want from me?" (I'm really sorry for how short this is, and how long this toke. ; ^ ; )

His smile remained in place even as she stood. Catching a glance of her claws, he was even more intrigued. Her feet were unlike that of any Soquili he had seen; they were talons. It seemed to fit with her otherwise bird-like appearance. Feathers, wings on the front legs, talons... it all reminded him of some mythical creature he'd once heard of in stories. And her bad attitude fit right in with what he was thinking. This encounter might just be quite entertaining.
Nykto clicked his tongue softly as he slowed then halted his approach for now. He couldn't help but smile inwardly at the nickname she'd chosen for him. "You're a bit feisty, aren't you?" He tilted his head a little, finally dropping the smile from his expression. "Even if there was something in particular I wanted with you, I would not be inclined to reveal my intentions. However, as it was, I was simply curious about you and wanted to see you a bit closer." He paused for only a second before a smirk spread across his features. "You see, I found you quite intriguing, little bird."

Her white eyes followed him as he glanced down at her claws. She raised an eyebrow at him. He eyed her up like a piece of meat, but there was a gleam in his eyes that she didn't understand. It was unnerving, and if she was a shy weak little mare it would have most likely made her blush and turn away from him. Luckily she wasn't one of those mares. Instead she match his smirk, tapping her claws softly against the ground.
"Feisty? Yes, very. Though you haven't seen my full feisty side batty." Her tone was a bit lighter as she no longer was at the point of growling at the male. She figured that since by his attitude so far he wasn't gonna attack her, why not mess with a lowly male why out here? Make the best of the moment, right? She shrugged lightly at him taking a few steps forward. "Well now you have batty." Anya snorted a bit at him, her rudeness to males popping it's head out again. "What you've never seen a harpy before?" She asked before pausing. "Though you are quite intriguing yourself batty. You look like one of those demons, yet, you wear human holy symbols. And you act like most other males, not at all blood crazed as I would think."

Nykto watched her as she moved closer, not seeming to fear him in the least. This both pleased and irked him. He did enjoy being feared by others; it gave him power. However, being feared became lonely, and having someone to talk to had overridden everything else. Though her apparent attitude, he thought, could become a bit annoying. It was obvious she was no weak little bird.
A Harpy... yes, it was as he had thought. He'd only heard of her kind though, and he had thought them only a legend; a mythical creature created by the minds of humans. He knew only a few things of the legends of harpies: they were typically all females, they stuck together and hunted together, and they were fierce little bitches. The latter was seeming to be true, but he wasn't sure on the other two. This little bird seemed to be alone tonight.
He lowered his eyelids as he kept his gaze on her. "I assure you, I can be more 'blood crazed' at times. However, I prefer not to mindlessly attack and devour those who I find interesting." He didn't care to explain his reasons for why he wore what he did.
He began walking toward her again, then moved to circle around. "I must ask, little bird... why have you come out here on such a dreary night all by yourself?"

Anya knew the male in front of her should be feared, she was scared of him yes just a tiny bit. Anya was a fiery harpy, one who fought hard. But she wasn't stupid. Anya knew well how easily the tall kalona male could over power her, make her a meal by the end of this meeting. Which is why she was being so...nice to the male.
Anya smirked as she leaned her body against the tree that was keeping the two dry. She was watching him always, not like he could tell with her pure milk white eyes. Every move he made, watching to make sure he didn't get the chance to pounce on her. "I'm sure you can batty. It's...nice to know that you find me interesting, most scum males just look at us harpies with fear."
Her smirk faded when he circled around her, her talons clicking against the ground as she watched him. "When I left my sisters this night wasn't so dreary batty, in was in fact quite pleasant."

He kept his eyes fixed on hers for the moment, though looking into her eyes was like looking into a great abyss; he saw nothing. He couldn't read her thoughts at all from those mysterious eyes. He had the feeling she was watching him, though it was impossible to tell for sure. She was a strange creature indeed.
Nykto smiled very slightly to himself at hearing the fact that she was used to being feared by males. He could easily imagine weaker males being terrified of such a female as this. Especially if she ever chose to use those claws of hers as a weapon. He heard the soft tapping as her claws hit the dirt beneath them. For an instant he wondered what it would feel like to have them digging into his flesh, but quickly put the thought out of mind. That would not be happening, he knew. For if it did, he'd be unable to stop himself from killing her; and he did not wish to do that.
"Ah, I see." He continued his movement a few more steps then halted. "Your...'sisters'. Are they your herd?" He paused for her to answer, wondering if it was true then that all harpies were female.

It was one of the true gifts of being a harpy. She knew he was trying at least to read her from her eyes. The pupil-less eyes of a harpy were damn near impossible to read, or know where they were looking. Her white eyes stared into his for a moment, drinking all of his feelings flashing before his eyes. Interest seemed to be the strongest right now, her smirk widened at the thought. So he was just as interested in her as she was in him? Good. Better to talk to someone who wants to be there then someone who is getting bored.
She watched him, her eyes narrowing when he stepped closer, her feathers for a moment ruffled in defense before she toke in a gulp of air to calm her frayed nerves. "We do not live in a herd...A herd is for soquili. I live in a flock, but yes. My sisters are my flock, they may not be my sisters of blood, but they are of soul."

Nykto smiled slightly at her reply. She truly was a proud creature, seeming to put herself and her sister above the rest of the Soquili population. He understood her pride. He too felt that he was above many members of his species... and he simply did not get along with other Kalonas.
"A flock.. I see. Do you live like bird's then?" he said with a small smirk. He imagined her kind were hunters and did not feed on vegetation. Her talons would be a great help in hunting, much like a bird of prey he thought.
"I do not have a herd or any companions for that matter. So forgive me for being curious, but the bond between the 'sisters' in your 'flock'...this bond intrigues me."

Anya flicked her ear as she lifted herself from the tree. Anya moved slowly a few steps closer to the male. She had a feeling that in less she truly set this male off, he wouldn't attack her. It was a guess she was putting all her marbles on but, what the hell. "Yes. Very much like birds, in a sense. But I would think we take more after those strange female humans that were a female only race." She paused trying to remember what they were called. "Ah.. They were called something like...am...amazens? I'm not too sure, but we're like them."
She raised an eyebrow at him. "I do not know why not, strength is in numbers. It's...nice to know you have someone behind you when you are stuck in a sticky mess. But, I guess I can forgive you male. Not many take interest into my race's beliefs."

His bright pink eyes followed her as she moved, though he himself stayed stationary now. She no longer seemed hostile much at all, though he supposed she still kept her guard about her.
His tail swung idly behind him as he listened to her speak, his ears positioned toward her, clearly interested in what she had to say.
"Amazons...." he spoke, pondering. "I believe I have heard of these humans you speak of. They were a strong tribe, were they not? And quite independent from males." He smiled and tilted his head a little. "So tell me, how does your flock view males?"
He had to agree with what she had said about strength in numbers. He knew it to be true. He himself would in some ways have preferred to have a herd or such as she had.
(No, I'm sorry <3 T^T I've not replied in soo long. I stopped rping completely for the whole of October xD)

Anya paused at his question, she had to wonder to herself if she should answer it truthfully or not. Any other time she would have told him her views, not really caring if he would feel offended or not. But now she knew he could over power her in her tired state. She sighed heavily, her pale ears flicking back. On the other hoof not telling the truth could also offended him. She made the choice simply to go with it, after all who is this male to make her lie about her beliefs? "Yes Amazons were a strong female only tribe that only used males for breeding or for slaves. My flock works the same way, males to us are only needed to make chicks, and for entertainment. This has been the harpy law for ages."
She lifted her head, her white eyes staring up at the stars through the canopy of the oak they were under. "But change I feel is coming soon. Many of my sisters are stepping over the rules of harpy law." Anya was trying to defuse the subject. It was the truth, even if she did not agree with it some of her sisters were now staying with one slave. She simply did not have to tell him that she was not one of those harpies that stepped over the law.
(I'm sorry boo that this toke so long. I kinda stopped doing guild roleplays for a while.)
