Aside from the small insects and vital creatures necessary for plants to grow healthy and flourish, no animals could be found within Empyrean City's Flora Gardens. It was a shame, because Tahsis knew that the Fauna Gardens were off limits to Zeros, so the only way to see such creatures was in the books contained within the vast Empyrean library. Still, the Flora Gardens were more than charming enough on their own and the Choleric enjoyed spending time there. Not because of any desire to nurture and grow the plants, or even study them. No, Tahsis liked the Flora Gardens because it was always one of the calmest, quietest places in the city. And today was no exception. In fact, it was even more serene.

After morning classes had been postponed, due to something no one would willingly detail to the Zeros, all the teachers and higher stage Empyrs were pulled away. The majority of young Zeros were all abuzz about what could be happening, what it meant for the city and just generally milling about where ever they thought they might be able to glean some information. The Flora Gardens was not such a place. Which is why the young Choleric Zero had headed here. It wasn't that Tahsis didn't care about what might be going on, but more the fact that as a Zero, there wasn't any way of personally influencing it. So why stress?

Tahsis reclined against the thick base of a tree, someone had called it a Willow tree but the Zero didn't know if that was indeed what it was or not. Botany class wasn't on the schedule for awhile yet. With eyes half closed, just resting and taking in the scents and sounds of the gardens, Tahsis manipulated three sphere's of clear crystal with one deft hand. Contact juggling it was called and the best could make it seem like the sphere's were stationary and everything around them was moving. Tahsis wasn't there yet, but the Choleric was getting better all the time. Light glinted off the sphere's and made them sparkle. Every so often, the sphere's would rub or crack together and Tahsis' brow would furl for an instant before letting it become a just another moment passed.

Yellow eyes fluttered open when Mavournein awoke from her short nap on the grassy fields of the Flora Gardens. She sat up immediately, bits of green stuck to her disheveled hair, and tried to figure out where she was and how she'd gotten there in the first place. She examined her surroundings, fascinated by all the shapes, colors, and sizes of the different plants that decorated the garden, and was suddenly bothered by the nagging feeling of familiarity. Mav brought her knees to her chest and tried to take in her surroundings a little more, listening to the rustling leaves and the chirping insects, and breathing in the fresh air-- she felt safe.

The young zero was very knew to the city, and had not attended any classes yet, let alone made any friends, so to have found a place where she was comfortable was a big thing for her. But what good would a new hang-out be for her if she knew nothing about it? Mav pushed herself off of the ground, dusted herself off, and walked around, familiarizing herself with the new environment.

She hopped from flowerbed to flowerbed, comparing the forms of certain petals to others, and trying to differentiate their textures. With a spring in her step, the Phlegmatic made her way to the bushes and shrubs and barely avoided falling into them. Lastly, she took a look at the different trees-- thin, young, fat, old, and even the few bent ones -- but when she approached one of the bigger trees (the one whose long branches tried to touch the soil instead of the sky), she noticed something, or someone, resting against its trunk.

"Hello?"

Tahsis' eyes barely cracked open wider than they already were, yet a wide, welcoming smile graced the Kinethetics face at the sound of Mavournein's greeting. The crystalline sphere's continued their elegant dance in Tahsis' hand, though the youth straightened in posture and finally opened both eyes fully to see whom the greeting came from. The Choleric took in the appearance of Mavournein in one unobtrusive glance, for Tahsis did not like to stare. There was no hint of evaluation, or 'sizing her up', merely a look to commit to memory the Phlegmatic girl.

"Greetings friend." Tahsis drawled in that semi-lazy, laid back kind of tone most had come to equate the Choleric youth with. "Taking in the sights, smells and sounds of the gardens are we?" Tahsis nodded to several smudges of dirt and clinging vegetation on Mavourneins clothes with a grin. "It's nice and peaceful here, wouldn't you agree?" Tahsis spoke like Mavournein was an old friend as opposed to a complete stranger. But that wasn't out of the ordinary for the Zero either.

Though slightly surprised by the Choleric's friendliness, Mavournein smiled back and approached the youth with ease. "I do, I do! I actually just woke up from a lovely nap over..." she turned around to see where she had come from, "...there I think. A little past those blue, bell-shaped flowers and those thorny shrubs maybe. But I could be wrong? I'm not even sure how I got here to be honest."

Mav chuckled lightly and examined the small crystals that swirled above Tahsis' palm, amazed. How was he doing it? Could she do it as well? Where did those spheres come from? Countless questions swirled around in the girl's mind as she observed her companion's actions, but she soon settled on something simple. "I don't mean to be rude, but may I know your name? Oh wait! No, before anything, my name is Mavournein! Ugh, I'm not doing this right..." She blushed and turned away from the other zero, embarrassed by her blunder.

Tahsis' eyes opened fully, though they still had a sleepy kind of look to them, and slid up the tree into a standing position. The crystal sphere's crached together only once, but Tahsis paid no attention to the sound. With a simple, warm smile the Choleric bowed shallowly, carefull not to drop the objects still being manipulated. "Hey, no worries Mavournein, I should have introduced myself too. My name is Tahsis, and it's cool to meet you."

Once more the spheres bumped into each other audibly and this time Tahsis sighed. The youth stopped his contact juggling practice at that point and dropped the sphere's into one of the deep pockets in the overalls. Brushing a stray tawny-coloured dreadlock out of the field of vision, Tahsis looked at Mavournein with a quirked eyebrow. "You woke up in the gardens? What do you remember from before then?" It sounded to Tahsis that Mavournein might be a new arrival to Empyrean city, but commonly they awoke in their dorm room, not the gardens. Maybe this was part of the reason classes for the day were postponed. A glitch in the cosmic system in a manner of speaking. "It's okay if you don't remember. None of us really do when we're new. It's just part of the groove that is life as an Empyrean."

"Empyrean. Hmm." The word seemed so new to the girl, and yet so familiar; she found it amazing but the uncertainty was unsettling. "Well," she began, trying to change the topic, "I'm pretty sure I was in a bed earlier. I remember the feel of a cool pillow in my arms or something! And I think I woke up with half of my body off my bed. Yeah." Fingers run through messy rows of wavy hair, "I think my hair has been through a lot in the short while I've been awake!" Mavournein laughs heartily at Tahsis and takes a seat beside the zero.

The Phlegmatic child looked out into the distance then up at her new friend, "You're a very chill kind of person aren't you? Were you always like that? I mean, waking up with barely any memory is kind of weird for me, but was it the same for you? Did anyone help you out in the beginning or was it just, like, instinct or something--" she covered her mouth, as if she had said a vulgar word, but in truth she was ashamed of all her rambling.

"I-I'm pretty chatty. Sorry about that..."

Tahsis nodded slowly. Every action the young Choleric did seemed to be in slow motion, yet there was something else there. A deliberate grace, a practiced movement that belied the slowness. Like, if Tahsis so chose, the Kinesthetics body was capable of split second reactions and movement. It's hard to see beneath the baggy and gender neutral clothing, but if you look hard enough, it's there.

"You do have a room then, cool." Tahsis stays standing for the moment, stretching. "A chill person? Yeah. You could say that. As far as I know, I've always been like this. I don't really get rattled or stressed. It's nice, but people often mistake it for apathy. I care, I just don't let things I can't do anything about bother me. Go with the flow, you know?" Tahsis chuckled at Mavournein's rambling. The new Empyr was spirited. That was cool. "No worries Mavournein. Hey, do you mind if I just call ya Mav? Mavournein is a bit of a mouthful, even if it is a pretty name."

Mavournein laughs at Tahsis and nods, "Of course you can!" she shuffles and pulls her knees to her chest, "I'm happy that I've been given a nickname. Thanks you!" Mavournein-- or well, Mav -- was touched by what the Choleric had done for her and wondered if she could do anything similar in return. She scratched her chin, deep in thought (trying not to talk out loud).

"Tat. Tata. Shis? Sis." The girl grumbles, "I don't think I'm suited for this kind of work Tahsis. I like how Sis sounds? But I might sound a little too friendly..." A small sigh escapes her lips but soon after, as if a switch had been turned on in her mind, her charming grin returns, "Do you have anything you'd like me to do for you? Names aren't my thing you see."

Perhaps a name wasn't anything big for anyone else, but she was genuinely touched. Hopefully, she thought, this wasn't going to be the last nickname she'd receive from another Empyr.

(( I'm so sorry for the delay ;D;!!! I-I will make you something pretty in return ;;; ))

"Sis?" Tahsis quirked an eyebrow and chuckled over that particular nickname. But it was all in good fun. "I'm not sure Sis really suits, but if you wanna call me Sis, that's cool." The Choleric was very amused that Mav took so quickly to the simple abbreviation of her name, and with much relish at that. Frankly it wasn't the reaction Tahsis had expected, but that was why it was such a source of amusement.

Finished stretching languidly, Tahsis leaned against the trunk of the tree and smiled down at Mav where she sat. With a simple shake of the youth's Kinesthetic head, Tahsis answered Mav in gesture before in speech. "You don't have to do anything for me. Your company is all I ask for. Although sometimes it's peaceful to just lay back and relax alone someplace, like here in the garden, just taking in the sights, sounds and aromas, it's cool to share it with someone else too. Especially if they can appreciate it." With a wide smile, Tahsis slides down the tree trunk into a seated position next to Mav. "I think our paths crossed for a reason. What fate has in store though, is anyone's guess."

She smiles at Tahsis, then continues to look out into the distance. "Fate, huh?" a sigh escapes her lips, "Sounds kind of creepy. I don't like how uncertain it seems. I'm enjoying your company, and I'm really happy that I've made a new friend in you and everything! I want to be your friend for as long as you'll let me, Sis." Mavournein turns to face her friend and takes the Choleric's hands in her own.

"Would it be okay if we hung out here again?" she asked, hesitant and kind of embarrassed, "I-if you don't mind. I-I mean, we don't have to hang out here we can hang out over there--" she points to another tree, "--or there--" to a shrubbery, "--or maybe just in another place entirely, but I'd really like to hang out. Again. If you don't mind."
