It was just after dinner time now. Azuran and Zeren had been chatting on their way out of the mess hall when suddenly a very excited Drakell and Viska had appeared about them, chittering away and sending them images of eggs. Curious about just what was going on, the two Candidates followed the firelizards outside and over to a secluded area of the beach. There, hidden amongst rocks, sand, and foliage, lay a small flitter nest.
"How on earth did they even find these?" the ebony-haired teen asked aloud in wonder, carefully picking up a pretty green egg to look over. "This place isn't exactly near the Barracks. Makes me wonder what these guys usually do when they're away."
Drakell was still chittering excitedly as he sat atop of his human's shoulder, eyes whirling a happy green as he puffed himself up proudly. Good find was good in his mind, and he was quite pleased that the two humans seemed to be happy with their find.

Zeren groaned when Viska and Drakell turned up chittering so excitedly that neither he nor Azuran could make out more than a few images of the beach somewhere, Azuran figured out first that the flits wanted them to go there, he just tagged along to shut Viska up.
He gasped when they reached the spot, "EGGS?!" he exclaimed, "A...Azuran they're rocking!" he said nervously, immediatly thinking that he'd not brought any food with him, "Azuran, grab one" he ordered, grabbing the nearest one, it was a pretty green and blue colour, he hugged it to himself and took off towards the barracks like a shot "c.mon Azuran we gotta get food" he yelled behind him, Viska fluttered above feeling very proud of herself.

"What do you think this is in my hands?" Azuran called back with a laugh, carefully cradling his own egg against himself before chasing after Zeren. He could feel his moving too, so it would definitely be best to grab some food as quickly as possible. Drakell followed along behind him, humming as he flew along.
It was a miracle really that they were able to grab some food and get back to the barracks before the eggs hatched. Of course, both Candidates were rather out of breath from all the running. "Can't... believe... we found... these," Azuran said between pants, grinning as he pet the brown flit already on his shoulder. "And right on time too. Hey, Zeren, I think your's is hatching!"

Zeren blinked "h..hatching?!" he said, tearing his gaze from Azuran and his egg, to the own moving bundle in his hands. He sat cross legged with the wrapped egg in the hollow in front of him, the egg was definitly cracked, a rather BIG crack for that matter "OH!" he cried, his hands either side of the egg to keep it from falling over.

Azuran placed his egg atop of a blanket on his bed to watch as it too began to hatch. Drakell still sat humming atop of the teen's shoulder, eyes whirling with a mix of excitement and curiosity as he watched they watched the two eggs crack.
It seemed that his was slightly more eager to enter the world than Zeren's, for rather quickly a small green broke free of her egg, making a small mess on the blanket. Her eyes whirled red with hunger and she let out a cry of complaint at all of those around. The teen quickly got to feeding the small girl, giving her encouraging words and sending welcoming thoughts at the same time. It wasn't very long at all before she seemed to attach herself to him.

Zeren grinned at Azuran when his egg hatched a little Green, "she's so pretty Azuran, Viska is going to have some competition now" he exclaimed, when his own egg started rocking very violently, "Azuran, you dont think these are Viska's eggs? i dont think she's risen yet, but with herm aything is possible" he wondered, suddenly a Brown nose poked out of the cracked egg in his lap, covered in good, and blowing bubbles out of it's nose. At that moment there was a burst of chill air as his Blue flit popped in, humming loudly, joining Viska and Drakell in their welcome song.

"No idea," Azuran replied, lightly stroking the little green's back while he continued to feed her. "Don't greens normally forget where their nests are though? I think these two might have just stumbled upon some other flit nest." He watched as Zeren's egg finally began to open, and couldn't help a small laugh when he saw the color of the firelizard inside. "I think we switched," he said with a small grin. Now they had a green and a brown each it seemed.
He didn't pay much mind as Zeren's blue joined the scene, instead turning his attention back onto his newly acquired green. She was very pretty for sure, and the contrast between the light green of her foot, tail, and crest compared to the darker green of the rest of her body almost seemed to make them glow. Even her wings seemed appeared to fade from the darker green into that nice light green at the end. "I think I'm going to call you Glow," he decided, stroking the small female lightly on the eye ridges. She crooned happily at the petting.

Zeren shrugged but smiled as Grym turned up, that flit had moslt likely been around the Wherhandler kazvar and his Wher, ever since he'd found him injured the little blue had taken a fascination to the Wher. He didn't have much time to waste though as the brown decided to stick his head out of the egg, creeling his 'intense' hunger, Zeren automatically grabbed for the food that the little brown gobbled down, while Zeren pulled away at the egg, taking large chunks off the brown flit. "He looks all Muddy" he chuckled the brown was still covered in egg goo.

"Good thing he's not still in the sand or else he would be all muddy," he pointed out, smiling as he looked over at the other flit. "So, three firelizards now, eh? I'm sure you'll be drawing yourself a dragon in no time."
Drakell meanwhile hopped down off of his shoulder perch to get a closer look at the babies. They were still covered in egg goo, but otherwise looked well enough. He gave a chirp of approval.
Glow blinked inquisitively at the bigger male's approach, huddling just slightly closer to her human until she was sure it was safe. Her feelings and demeanor seemed to indicate Mine!

Zeren chuckled "hey, thats a good name Mud" he looked down at the little flit, "what do you think boy, is Mud a good name?" he asked it, his reply... was a very loud, and very smelly belch from the stuffed hatchling, "hahaha... i guess that's a yes!" he laughed.
He blushed a little at Azuran's assumption "i guess, maybe, i've just been lucky with these guys, and i'm surprised Grym is still here, i thought for sure he'd leave once he was better" he said shrugging "theres always Whers when i get too old to stand" not realising he'd said when and not IF he got too old.

"Your optimism is contagious," Azuran remarked with a wry smirk, having noticed the 'when' part, even if it wasn't said intentionally. "Don't get your hopes up after only one Hatching. You've still got plenty of time left." He had reason to be pessimistic about his own chances by now. The other candidate, not so much.
Drakell was amused by the little one's declaration of 'mine' and shook his head. he sent back an image of all three of them together. Ours.
Glow appeared puzzled for a moment. Ours? The image confused her. NoMine.

Now that Zeren had Impressed Viska kind of lost interest in the baby flit, turing her attentions to Grym, tyring to entice him into play, nibbling his wingtips and chirping sweetly, forgetting her flirting with Azuran's brown for once
Grym was a serious Flit, not given much to playing Viska's silly games, the image he sent was of him snapping at an irritating fly, and a mental flit type laugh accompanied,
Zeren chuckled and stroked Grym, "Viska stop bugging Grym" he said, reaching up to caress the flits, "shards i need two pairs of hands now" thinking he couldn't stroke all three at once.
Mud chirped and curled up in Zerens lap, blinking the goo out of his eyes he looked over towards his cluchmate *yours, mine, ours* he sent towards her.

Glow looked reluctantly between the two browns, not wanting to give up her position. Miiiin-- She let out an indignant squawk as she was interrupted mid-thought by a blanket ambush. She wriggled against her attacker, trying to break free.
"Hold still a moment. You're still covered in egg goo." Azuran was trying to carefully wipe away the goo from her body using the blanket (since it was sticky from the hatching anyway), but he seemed to have inadvertently caught her by surprise. Now he was busy half-wrestling to keep the slippery little thing still while he cleaned her. "If you would calm down a bit this would be over a lot sooner."
The older brown was amused by the little green's 'plight', but watched only for a moment before flitting over to flirt with Viska. If the blue was going to ignore her, then there was no reason he shouldn't get some flirt time in, right? he lightly nipped at the end of her tail before fluttering upward toward the ceiling.

Zeren noted that Azuran was rubbing his flit free of the egg goo, never having had a flit from first hatching he hadn't been sure what to do, so he followed suit, rubbing Mud down, making sure he was free of any goo. "we'd better snag some more oil, these guys are going to grow fast" he said to Azuran.
Mud liked the rubbing, in fact he loved it so much that despite the roughness he soon went to sleep, his snores audible over the sounds fo the cloth rubbing at him and over Zeren speaking
Grym hopped down next to the sleeping hatchling, though once grown that brown creature would be bigger than himself, for the moment HE was the bigger and he curled around Mud resting his head on the little one's back
Viska was happy, the older brown was paying attention to her when Grym wasn't she's learnt very quickly not to continue to bother the blue, he just ignored her completely she twisted round as Drakell nipped at her tail, and she flew up after him into the rafters

"Yeah, that is true," he replied, pausing in his cleaning of Glow to look her over. Most of the goo seemed to be gone by now. "We should probably grab that first thing tomorrow. Don't want the reserves to empty out."
The small green took the pause in the blanket's attack to mean her victory, and she wriggled her way out of the offending piece of material victoriously. Climbing up into her human's lap, she curled up there comfortably for some rest. The full belly had her sleepy enough already, but the ending struggle against the surprise attack had mostly drained the last of her energy.
Drakell wove his way in and out of the rafters, not quite as agile as his green pursuer but not doing a bad job nonetheless. He chirruped teasingly to the other she she gave chase.
"Well, other than Viska and Drakell it looks like the firelizards are about ready for sleep," Azuran observed, eying the three sleeping flits. "Perhaps now would be a good time to at least get these blankets soaking. I doubt we want this stuff to dry in."
