The edge of the woods layed before her, she sighed softly and pulled her cloak tighter to herself and adjusted the clasp, her fingers lingered over the amethyst set in the cresent moon and she remembered only a day ago, which seemed so far away and behind her now.
"Lilly, clean up the dishes than you can go out, remember tommarow is your three hundreth birthday, if you plan to leave you should say goodbye to your friends," Her mother paused for but a moment, "I know how excited you are to leave and see all you can, so I wont ask you to stay, though you know I wish you would. I love you Lillian Marie."
Lilly sighed, she wasnt fond of her full name, Lillian Marie Moonsinger, "Mom, I know, I love you too. But I have to see whats out there, I just feel Like I have a bigger destiny than living here in the glade taking care of the Elder Tree. I know that Father, Darius, Arianna and you will miss me, but you and they knew that I've wanted to travel since I was barely one hundred."
Her sister and brother took that moment to come back in for a moment, "Lilly, will you play with us?" Darius held up a pathwork ball and Arianna gave her big eyed look of desperation.
Lilly smirked, "As soon as I finish the dishes, I'll play for a little while, but I have to go and get things in order so I can leave tommarow, you two go out for now, I'll be out in a little bit." She turned back to her mother as her siblings ran outside with a squeek of happiness, "So mother... any news of Father and the three hunters that went with him to the spire?"
Her mother shook her head, "Not yet, it worries me, the birds have talked of rumors of dark things in the north, and fires to the east..." She looked lilly over, "You need to straighten that braid of yours, maybe get a trim, your hair nearly reaches your bottom."
Lilly laughed, "Mom! Its hard enough to manage a decent braid when each section looks so differse, I mean it's not as if strawberry blond hair blends with it's self well when you can focus on small bits of it. But yes I think you're right, its far to long for travel, will you cut it to my mid-back tonight before bed?"
Her mother nodded, "I will hun, and forget the dishes, I'll do them, go out and play with your brother and sister."
She smiled to her mother, "Thank you, see you later!" She ran outside to play with her brother and sister.

Lillian Marie Moonsinger, or better known as Lilly to her few friends, sat on a branch of the Elder Tree braiding her long strawberry blond hair into a long braid to hang down her back. With a sigh she let her braid fall loose into her lap and closed her blue eyes leaning back against the trunk of the tree, "What a boring day," she muttered out, "It's become so unactive here since father and the hunters went to see what was happening at the Silver spire three days ago."
She shook her head and reopened her eyes climbing down from her perch in the Elder Tree and brushed off her tunic and adjust the belt which held her pants before walking towards her home, she paused at the pond as she neared it."Purple does look so good on me, I wonder if mothers finished my cloak and dress yet, I wonder how the Amethyst clasp will turn out." She smiled thinking about it, she would be having her three-hundreth birthday in just a few days, and would get the cloak marking her as an adult. "I hope father will be home by then," she spoke aloud as she stepped from the pond and continued towards home, "I doubt he would want to miss it, I am his first daughter to come of age after all." She smirked as she walked up the path to the little wooden hut she and her family called home, as she was suddenly tackled from the side. "Lilly! Play with me," screamed her little sister Arianna.
"Good Goddess, Arianna, you think you havent seen me in years with the way you tackled me! Why don't you play with Dar? I mean he is your brother too and closer to your age, i mean im nearly 300 now! I can't be playing all the time." Arianna frowned, "Dar is a meanie, and im almost 127! I'm no baby anymore!" She started to cry a little bit, "You don't love me anymore Lilly, we used to play everyday!" Lilly sighed, "I'm sorry Ari, I do love you, I've just been feeling anxious, I'll finally get to leave the Glade in just a few days and see the world," she paused, "Lets go into the house and play a couple rounds of Fox and Rabbits." Arianna groaned, "But you always beat me at that! Can't we play out here?" Lilly chuckled, "Okay, we will play out here," she then touched Arianna's shoulder, "Tag, you're it!" And she ran with Arianna chasing after her, they continued to play and giggle for an hour before their mother called them in.
"Yes Mother?" The girls chorused together as they entered the house, than Lilly noticed that Mother was crying. "Girls, I have recieved word about the Hunters..." She bit her lip softly, "Your Father... the hunters... they... they are dead..." Lilly stood shocked while Arianna started to cry and fell to the floor cradling herself. "Wheres Dar... mother? Should he not be told as well..." Shock kept Lilly calm. Her Mother looked at the ground, "Dar is the one who let me know... he's gone off with some headstrong youngones," She stood up and walked over to a chest and opened it, pulling free a beautiful purple cloak with a cresent moon clasp with an amethyst giving the moon shape. She handed it to Lilly and said, "Here, You are an adult now, go find your brother and the young ones, send them home, before they get themselves killed please, you can take Silverhoof, shes a wonderful horse and will serve you well. If you want, feel free to come home afterwards..but I know the winds call you, and I have no right to keep you from them." Lilly put the cloak over her shoulders, "I will do what I can mother, I will miss you, I will return someday." She turned to Arianna, "Be brave sister, mother needs you more than ever." With no glance back she walked out of the hut, saddled Silverhoof, and took off at top speed for the glades edge and the path to the Silver Spire.
