Giving the nature of this guild, I feel many of us can enjoy the craftsmanship of a well made music box.

This particular box appears to be a foot or so across each way and is evidently manufactured by a company known as Porter's. This box sits and churns out gorgeous tones in the all year round Christmas store Bronner's which sits in Frankenmuth Michigan, a Bavarian themed town which is simply a joy to visit. It even has a paddle boat, though the power source for it is diesel rather than Steam sadly.

And sad to say aside from steam trains Bronner's lack steampunk themed ornaments. I'll do a more thorough search next time I go, if not, I may see if they take suggestions.

Oh, that is absolutely lovely. Since it's in a Christmas store, does it play Christmas music, or are there other songs as well?

I love music boxes. Player pianos, too.

They have one of these in a museum across from my college! From what I understand, they mainly play hymns and classic Christmas carols (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen and the like). There are smaller music boxes fashioned to look like the bigger one you've posted, too, about 3 inches square.

Does make me wish you could purchase more discs for them for different tunes, or at least get instructions to make your own. would be kinda funny to hear one of those pump out Iron man.
