I'm excited! My boyfriend just started his new job, and it's security so he needs a car for like overnight jobs and stuff....so his boss was selling a car and sold it to him for $250! He has the title and insurance but he has to register it tomorrow to get the plates. This is one step closer to us moving out. Now that he has the car he can take any and all shifts offered to him. Now I just need to work on a full time job. There are some positions open at IMAX at the aquarium so I'm going to apply there soon, cross your fingers everyone!

AND NOW WE GET TO DRIVE PLACES THAT ARE FAR AWAY IF WE NEED TO! Or places that the bus/train can't get us to.

SWEET!

keep in mind, cars unfortunately cost money... gas, plates, insurance, repairs, maintenance etc. My car cost 3 thousand, but, I've easily spent 5 in less than a year not counting gas money.

Turns out he ended up paying $500 for it, still not bad though since he wanted $1,000. Kinda high in mileage and probably only gonna last a little over a year, But even when it goes, he can scrap it for at least $300 if it doesn't hold out til we can trade it in for something better (it has a blue book value of over 2k! 0.0)

@CCR: don't we know it. That's why we waited til he got a job to get a new one. The registration was $250 jeeeez but he's only gotta pay less than $130/month for insurance, so that's not going to be as crippling as I thought, and it's really good on gas. Most of the routine stuff he can do on his own (oil change etc.) The only thing wrong with the car is that the ac might not work, we're gonna look into that but if it comes down to it, it's not worth getting a whole new radiator for a $500 car so we'll just have to deal with the heat this summer.

Anyway, he picked me up today after the registry and it's niiiiice. The guy said the sunroof didn't work and the am radio didn't work, but they both do. So I predict us spending many a meteor shower listening to Coast to Coast Am. Best part of all is now I have a car to practice driving in so I can finally get my license. Woooot.
