Everybody talks about the latest stuff on Broadway right now, and the standards of Lloyd Webber and Sondheim, but no one talks about Frank Wildhorn's stuff anymore. What about Jekyll and Hyde? What about Scarlet Pimpernel? Discuss, please ^_^

Jekyll & Hyde, neh? Once I heard a song from that on the radio, and it reminded me SO much of this one video game...but I haven't heard it since... ninja

I also heard some of the music from Scarlet Pimpernel, but I didn't like it much.

Jekkyl and Hyde rocks. I like a few songs from Scarlet Pimpernel.

Has anyone heard anything from Dracula? I hear that it sucks, but since I haven't heard anything from it I wouldn't know.

Jekyll and Hyde I like. Then he made other musicals that sound like they are songs that belong in Jekyll and Hyde. The music themes are the same. The only one I can think fo that he did that was not like that was Civil War.

I've heard, through the grapevine, that Frank Wildhorn is not a very well respected writer in NYC. Nobody ever does his songs for audition up there. Again, only what I've heard.

Mmm...thinking about it...I don't think it's totally true...it's just that there are only so many songs that one can do by him. His songs are so over done which is why people in New York stay away from anything from Jekyll and Hyde or Scarlet Pimpernel. People in New York do audition with stuff from Civil War, only because they're not only good songs but they're not totally played out. In New York everyone knows you're new to auditioning if you do a song like This is the Moment or Someone Like You.

Or Into the Fire. Although thinking about it, that would be fun to audition with ^_^

I don't like Frank wildhorn. I hated the Scarlet Pimpernel. It has an opening that reminded me too much of Les Miserables. I bought the video of Jekyll and Hyde. I thought it was a joke how Hasselhoff flicked his hair back and forth while Jekyll was arguing with Hyde. They killed my favorite song from the concept album. And unfortunately, that was the only song I could take.

I can't stand the dvd of Jekyll and Hyde. The women in it suck too. I saw the original cast on broadway who are a million times better. When I watch the dvd/video of Jekyll and Hyde I feel like I'm watching community theatre.

Yeah, it's pretty much a joke. Glad to hear seeing it live is better.

There are a few songs from Scarlet Pimpernel that are good, but it does seem a lot like Les Miserables.
