Those are both excellent breeds. I believe that the Scottish Collie is the most Royal Breed of Dog.

Those are also excellent breeds, though the German Shepard was bred to hunt and kill Jews who escaped from concentration camps during World War II. Being a good dog overall, and eventually found to be helpful by the United States toward the end of the war, the dogs were brought home to be family pets in the mid to late 1940s and so the breed thrives today. This is why the German Shepard makes such an excellent police dog.
