As much as Eriko did not approve of her Taicho's basically bare office, it is highly hypocritical since her own quarters has much less to offer to the eye. Unlike the office of the previous Gobantai Lieutenant, this version is almost void of anything that shows human interactions save for the seating arrangements and flat beds. Eriko is very fond of wide open spaces. This stems from her innate need for freedom and clarity of mind at all times. If she is not working on something for the benefit of the Division and by extension, Soul Society, the girl can be found lying on the floor at odd angles sometimes, looking up at the ceiling. Once alone, it is very easy for her to become lost in her own thoughts and it would require visitors to walk up to her and disrupt her reflections in some manner.
