More of a bio.
Raistlyn is from the Meronan clan that was once a great power inside of the village hidden in the Volcano. When he was born his mom named him Raistlyn after her father. Raistlyn's mom died as soon as she had spoken this and he never knew her. Rai's father, Aldaris, had taken all information of his mom away from Rai so that he could mold his oldest son into the best weapon that he could ever hope for. When Rai was two years old Aldaris had remarried and had two boys to Rai's step mom... A fact that Rai never knew as he thought the woman to be his mom. She was also from the Meronan clan so Rai never questioned this fact.

When Rai turned five years old he had already learned many of the fire jutsu and a few earth jutsu that he would need to know and Aldaris was blessed with a small girl, Yuna. Rai who was still being trained almost every waking hour was seen when he was not training looking after his sister who he loved with all of his heart.
At the age of six though Rai and his two brothers, Yero and Yavin were taught an exercise of chakra control. The walking on water one. Rai was starting to get the hang of it and so was Yavin but Yero was not grasping the concept. Aldaris was not one to suffer weaklings in his household so he told him either to learn it or drown. Rai upon hearing this started to move towards his younger brother to save him when his father grabbed him and held him still.
"If you so much as go to him I will kill you where you stand." Aldaris said. Rai stood there as he watched the water start to come up over the knees of his younger sibling.
"Thanks for caring." Yero said as he slipped and drown.

When Rai was around eight years old he was taught the lava jutsu that has now become his calling card of sorts. Rai became very skilled at them and as such Aldaris was very proud. Rai was very much a prodigy and as such his father had high hopes for Rai. Rai was soon through the chunin exams and passed them with flying colors.

Aldaris, who was the Kage of the village, started sending Rai out on missions and training his daughter who was now four simple medical ninjutsu. Rai was quiet and considerate as the little girl wanted to play doctor and heal his every wound. Rai would never once try to hurt her.

At the age of eleven Rai was an ANBU which was and still is a very fast time to become that rank. Aldaris would have it no other way. One day Aldaris came to Rai to talk to him about something that was bothering him. Aldaris had entered Rai's room and stood there looking at him through pitch black eyes. Aldaris' brother Mordok and some other clan members where growing uneasy with Aldaris. Indeed Mordok had already made a pack with the Stormkill clan and the Glaivheart clan to attack and kill Aldaris. Rai told him that his uncle would do no such thing and was proved wrong not more than hours later.

Mordok had entered the house under the guise of the Stormkill clan and the Glaivheart clan were having a fight that only the Kage could solve. Rai stood watching the exchange as his father and the three stood there talking about what could be done when all of the sudden Mordok jumped back and the Stormkill clan leader jumped forward. The main used lightening fist to punch Aldaris in the chest killing him instantly. Mordok then grabbed Yuna around the neck.

As the Stormkill clan leader was about to attack Rai the Glaivheart clan leader told him not to harm him. Rai never understood the meaning of this fully. Rai had thought that they only wanted him to live so that he could be their weapon and he would have rather die then live for such a weakling who would attack a man with his kids in the room. Rai had after all been raised with honor. Mordok looked over and nodded his head signaling to the Stormkill clan member to go kill Rai's other brother.

Rai was then made a deal. They would not kill his sister if Rai would work for Mordok and recognize him as the new Kage. Rai who loved Yuna with all of his heart agreed. Little did Rai know that the truth on why the Glaivheart clan leader saved him.

Ten years went by until Rai was able to get both him and his sister out of the village. Rai was assisted by a cloaked figure that Rai never realized who it was. When the cloaked figure handed his sister, who was at this time seventeen years old, a note which the figure told her to read when they were safe. Rai was curious but he never asked his sister what was in the note.

Rai returned the next year and destroyed the village using the very jutsu the former Kage had taught him. There was only one member of the original three killers who escaped the attack and that was because the Stormkill clan leader was not in the village. Rai went back to his sister and told her that the Glaivheart clan and that their clan would never bother them again and that the Stormkill clan was seriously weakened.

When Rai said this his sister started crying profoundly while holding him. Rai who was confused by this turn of events looked at her and asked her what was wrong.
"Because my dear brother, the reason that the Glaivheart clan leader sparred you was because you were and are his nephew." She whispered into his ear.

Rai spent the next twenty years studying dark and evil jutsu's til he found that he could take the youth of his victims. He had to be careful though or he would go back to the age of a child. Rai learned the technique quickly enough so that it worked and he used it while watching his sister marry and start a family. As Rai watched the kids he noticed one small boy off by himself just practicing his aim with the kunai. As the boy turned around Rai almost fell down. The boy was Meronan in that he had the Meronan eyes. Rai has watched his clan's bloodline like a hawk making sure that nothing happened to his family. Meanwhile Rai also was looking for more information on his mothers side. Rai started to learn Crystal jutsu and Diamond jutsu as he held both the Meronan and the Glaivheart kekki genkai in his blood.

Rai's knowledge

Rai has been around for a long time so he knows quite a lot. He is an avid fan of learning different things and seems to have his own agenda. Due to his long life so far he has mastered at least three elements not counting his Kekkei Genkai's ability to use the Lava and Diamond release jutsus. Though due to his bloodline limits he is unable to use water jutsu with any great skill. Most he is able to do is use water if it is already there but even then his water jutsu is greatly diminished by his chakra affinity for earth and fire. The only other type of jutsu that he has mastered is Lightening chakra. He is able to use a wide range of jutsu from three of the five basic chakra types but his weak point is Air and Water.

Rai is also known to know a good amount of kinjutsu or forbidden jutsu. His mostly used one is Earth Release: Resurrection Technique: Corpse Soil. This jutsu allows him to bring back a seeming army of dead ninja to fight for him. The draw back is that these ninja have no real intelligence nor any jutsu that the bodies had in real life. As such this jutsu is used to teach Taijutsu to his students or as a way to lead an army to fight and distract his opponents. The only other flaw of this jutsu is that while in use he cant move or use other jutsu due to his concentration on the control of the army of dead. Rai's Kinjutsu all seems to deal with souls or the dead in some way shape or form. As such this has caused some to wonder what all soul jutsu that Rai really knows.

In addition to knowing all of the things stated above he also has a vast understanding on genetics and as such has been working on creating a "perfect" bloodline for a while. Most of his work on this project is hidden in a place where even Chaos cant get to easily. As such the location to his main base of operations has never been discovered. Rai also is known to attract many people to his cause. He is more than willing to work with anyone that any village has deemed a missing ninja. Rai takes great pleasure in learning more than what he knows.

Rai has a good understanding of the body and how it works but is still not a medical ninja. As such he is not above asking for assistance when he is needed to do so. Rai has also curse sealed people in the past with their permission. What all these curse seals grant the recipients is as of yet unknown. (that is besides the obvious raise in power.)
