It was a gloomy day out, floofy, gray clouds littering the skies, threatening rain, sun only breaking through the smallest of cracks, and only for few moments before the wind blew the clouds over the thin break. Such a glum day matched little Marquess, who strolled along the dirt path, head hung alittle low, eyes glazing the sidewalk, and ears drooped. Even the stars on her forehead and tail end seemed to dull, though normally they shined. Useless wings beat lightly at her sides as she walked, the crystals on them, the only thing still shining on the little kit, forever glowing. But even such brightness was dimmed, for Marquess's small, dainty cape drooped over them occasionally, shadowing their shine. And what was it that made little Marquess glum?
Family time. Or the lack of it.
Since she had come out of her bowl, she had discovered long ago that she was.. different. From her two little siblings. Not only were her little siblings twins, but they matched personalities with their parents! Prince had mother, who was silent and understanding, like he was, and Knight had father, who would always be up and running. It was a wonder what happened to Marquess, for where they were a happy family, Marquess could only feel sorrow from the moment she knew she was not like the others. Sure, she felt the affection and love from her family, but it never felt.. Just right. They always had someone esle. And Marquess? She clung to them like two opposite ends of magnets. She was afraid. Cowardly, and very self-concious. Her self confidence and independence was probably nonexsistant. She freaked out at the slightest changes, grew nervous and flustered when showered with attention, something she oh so adored, and avoided everything she loved because she was afraid of them. Oh. Not to mention she was the oldest sister. Now that is embrassing.
Marquess gave a small dejected sigh as she continued walking. This morning had been the very same as now, and nothing was changing fast. Hours were slow, and she had failed to see either of her siblings. Well. Alone at least. That was the only time she could muster enough courage to face them. Only when one was without the other.. That was how she was with almost all her family. She felt truly, as if she had no one, and it truly bothered the young noodle. Afterall, they were supposed to be family. Family was supposed to love all family. But Marquess was the odd one out. Mother had Prince, father had Knight, and Marquess? Marquess was alone..

Meta Knight had come from the shop, the knowlege he had more family out there that he hadn't met was unsettling to him. He should never let himself be taken away from the shop so long. He missed things, things that really mattered too, like his grandchildren. Clutching his cape around himself he stormed further and further away not really paying much attention to the weather or where he was heading. He just needed to think and the crowded shop wasn't going to let him do that.
Finally far enough for his peace of mind, Knight sat on the path, his face to the sky, simly looking and thinking of all he had missed. He hadn't seen his mate and too long, maybe he'd found someone better. A growl nearly burst from him at that thought but it was possible and he didn't like it at all. He couldn't lose his mate...his family. They were the only things he actually cared about lately.

Marquess continued along her lonely pathway, occassionally looking up to tell if she was heading in the right direction. At least her directional skills were pretty well off. Even alone she could and would be able to find her way home simply by instinct. Though, then again, most of the time, home was exactly where she didn't want to be. Another small rush of wind sent Marquess huddling under her small cape, whimpering lightly, wings tucked in. Even the wind, something that should've been on Marquess's side, frightened the poor thing. As it passed though, Marquess stood again after several moments, and sighed dejectedly. Why was she such a scaredy cat? Such a mystery was something yet to be solved.
Moving along, Marquess continued her path, unknowingly approaching her grandfather that she never knew. Family was a mystery to young Marquess, and she didn't seem to believe she could solve it anytime soon. Another gust of wind, a strong one at that, however, set Marquess flying, her thin, tiny frame easily picked up and thrown into the gust, she herself, wailing in terror as she crashlanded into her grandfather, though at that moment, she didn't know he was related to her. With a petrified squeak, Marquess tugged her cape as hard as her little paws would let her over her head, trying to hide from the adult. "I-I'm s-sorry I-I-I'm r-r-really so-rryy I-I---" She stuttered, cutting herself off as she whimpered and tried to hide further, shaking in misery. She was so small that even the wind could throw her. How pathetic.
