She hadn't slept long. No matter how little sleep she might have gotten the previous night, Harmony couldn't force herself to sleep in. She was up when the morning had fully begun, and pushed herself to a sitting position on the bed, rubbing her eyes vigorously. Oh, how tired she was.. but she figured once the day truly began she would get over that. She looked around, disoriented for a moment.. until she remembered where she was, and a bright smile lifted her sleepy face. Then she remembered the events from last night, and her smile slipped away. A cold stone pitted in her stomach, sitting there as she worried about how the day would turn out after all.

She got up and changed back into a simple green sundress, slipped her slippers on, and ran a brush through her hair. All of this she did in contemplative silence, as worrysome thoughts filtered through her mind. She frowned at her reflection, and looked through her bag for a better dress, finding a red one and holding it up for a moment.

'Maybe I should wear this one', she thought. 'He always did say red was his favorite color.'

She put down the dress, and bit her lip. Now she was dressing for him? She put away the dress hastily, shaking her head. She had to face facts; Sreas obviously didn't like her as much as she'd thought. She would spend the next day or two here cordially, thank everyone for their hospitality, and just.. just..

..Just be sad for the rest of her life.

Well, at least she had a gameplan.

She ran her fingers through her hair, caught one in a knot and pulled it out, and walked out to head down to the kitchen and see if anyone needed help making breakfast.

Sreas poured the last part of batter from the bowl. He turned to see Harmony coming towards the kitchen.

"Harmony!" he exclaimed, nearly waking the rest of the house. "Good morning. I love your dress." He smiled as he pried at the last three pancakes. "Want some pancakes? They're almost done, but I'm going to have to go wake everyone who wants one. " A little grin crosses his face as he pointed to the plate of pancakes beside him.

Sreas turned around and gave a quick glance to see if anyone was in earshot. Once he was sure that no one was around, he gave Harmony a quick hug and whispered into her ear. "I'm sorry for what happened last night, really sorry. It won't happen again, promise!" He grinned and called down the hall. "Pancakes are ready!"

From around the corner of his room Atriz smiled and ducked his head back inside the room. He waited a few seconds before rubbing his eyes and sleepily asking how they were.

((Sorry it's short, I thought it worked. I'm a little suck-ish lately.

And sorry it's been so long coming x_x))

Harmony stopped still as a stone when she saw Atreas in the kitchen, making breakfast. Her eyes widened like a deer caught in headlights, and she startled a bit as she heard her name. She felt as though she could only shrink away, but no sooner did she think that than his compliment finally sink in. She looked down at the dress, before looking up at him again. Her mouth opened, but then closed shut a second later when no sound came out.

Boy, was she confused.

She still couldn't move even as she saw him come closer, but when his arms wrapped around her she couldn't help but melt in his hug. He smelled sweet like pancake batter, and he was so warm. It almost made her forget how nervous she was about the entire situation.

Almost.

She sunk into a chair, blinking away her confusion. It wouldn't go away so easily however; it was only replaced with a different kind of confusion.

She didn't understand what he was apologizing about.

She brought her hand up, fingertips lightly touching her cheek. Her eyes were rooted to the table even as she whispered in a voice that sounded just a little frightened.

"Was it really that awful for you?"

Sreas took the pancakes off and placed the pan in the stove. He had fixed everything and it was all good now. Atriz was right. That was easy. He didn't even need to write a letter later today! He smiled with the corner of his mouth as he turned on the sink tap.

"Was it really that awful for you?"

He stared at the sink for a minute. What? No. Well. No! Of course not. What the... He didn't get it. He glanced at her, trying his best to show confusion, but he wasn't even completely sure how to do that.

"No.. no I don't mean.. like.. no! No, it wasn't. I was just... I didn't mean to so I was sorry because... well.. you know and why would you... I don't get it." He stumbled for the words and the emotions, but they didn't seem to be coming. He didn't want to say anything, and even worse was that he didn't know what to say.

He didn't know what to do, so he simply leaned over the counter for what felt like a few minutes. "I just didn't mean to." he murmured quietly. "I should've asked you, but it just happened."

Sreas reached his hand to his cheek, touching the place he had been kissed only the night before.

All of his no's gave her a little comfort, at the very least. She didn't know if he was saying it just to make her feel better, or if he meant it, but it didn't matter. At least he didn't say yes.

"Asked me? Why would you need to ask me?" She stood up, and moved to stand behind him, setting her hand on his back. She leaned to the side slightly, her head cocked to try and look at him.

"Sreas, you're my best friend. You mean more to me than anyone, and I trust you more than anyone! You know that, don't you?"

A soft smile touched her features, and she tried to get him to look at her. She simply didn't understand what was the big deal.

"I don't think you should be ashamed, or scared, to kiss me on the cheek. I'm not. See, look!" She did it before she could stop herself; leaning up on her toes and pecking him on the cheek. "It just means I care! It can't be a bad thing, can it?"

"But I thought that..." Sreas' head filled up with questions. He was just so confused. But it really didn't seem to matter. He was happy, and she sounded happy, so he turned around to look her in the eye. "I'm happy we're best friends. You're mine too." He gave her a peck on the cheek much like the last one. "You're really good at cheering people up, y'know?"

"Pancakes pancakes pancakes!" Serelin screamed, darting down the halls.

"Alright, alright!" Sreas cried, handing her some of the smaller one on a plate. "And maybe later we can play that game of Trouble. Or something else, anything!"

Good moods like his were hard to hide.

Suddenly everything seemed right again, and her heart lifted it's heavy weight. She let out a sigh of relief, and gave him a great big hug before sitting down on the table. As Serelin ran in, she giggled softly at her excitement. She had to admit, now that she could think about it, the pancakes did smell wonderful.

"Sreas, I didn't even know you could make pancakes. They smell so good." She poured herself a glass of orange juice, and took a sip.

"That sounds like a fine idea. I shouldn't stay too long though, I feel bad leaving my Aunt alone with all of my brothers and sisters. I probably should go back some time today."
