Getsuei, barely showing any sort of emotion in her face, disappeared from where she had been standing and re-appeared next to Shizuka. They seemed to be slowly blending with the background, standing there speechless next to each other. Both of them seemed to be barely even moving, but really, they were planning out things together, using telepathy to communicate to each other. Their messages, like usual, were jumbled up and spoken in code so that nobody else would be able to understand, even if there was a mental shield thrown up around themselves. Finally, Shizuka shook herself, using Shunpo to appear next to Linuen as she placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. There was really only one thing she could do at the moment, and since she could always shift her body, it wouldn’t be too bad. The only problem she might have is if she would be able to survive all the pain. Getsuei had not moved from her spot, merely sending encouraging thoughts to Shizuka, as she said, You’ll be fine, Shizuka, you can do it. Also, try not to scream too much, since it might deter Linuen a little bit. Shizuka pulled a wry smile, replying, Very well, remember to help me replace my body if I cannot do so myself, you have control of this world yourself too. Don’t forget to tell him.
Pieces of the bench, which had unfortunately suffered under Kei and Shizuka’s battle, started to rise again as she unblinkingly stared directly at Kei. Bowing her head, she steeled herself before vaguely gesturing her hand. In a split-second, the sharp pieces of the bench had hit her in several places – her two arms, her legs and her left side. Blood started to leak from the wounds, and Shizuka herself winced slightly. Using her ‘linking’, she sent all the effects of this particular wound which she had dealt to herself, to both Falhannah and Kei. Among the effects from her wounds, there would be pain in those areas and dizziness from blood loss. This was her only plan for the meantime – since her second ability did not require too much energy, it would mean that Getsuei would be able to use her abilities to attack Kei and Falhannah, while Shizuka would keep sending pain to herself. Shizuka, barely able to stand upright from the dizziness from the blood loss, stumbled around, keeping a grip on herself and her body. Getsuei appeared beside Linuen, saying quietly, “This is the only way we can inflict pain upon the others and be certain that it would work,” she paused briefly as a scythe appeared in her hands and she cut Shizuka’s right side, causing another injury which would be added onto Kei and Falhannah’s pains, “And Shizuka has a message for you – she tells you not to worry about her. I need to work on Alestha and attempt to replace her body, which is actually pretty hard at the moment, so Shizuka asks you to keep on injuring her, so that Kei and Falhannah will be unable to move. Cut her tendons next, I’d say, it’s the best bet. So what are you waiting for? Go and attack your Captain.”
Getsuei, without looking back, moved next to Alestha, saying, “I can’t heal you entirely, but I’m going to have to put your mind inside a tangible body for the meantime. Unfortunately, that means you cannot disappear and reappear without leaving that body again…it’s up to you whether or not you want me to create a tangible body for you or not. I can attempt to make an intangible body, but that might take a short while to do.” Meanwhile, Shizuka had looked up at Linuen, her eyes refocusing a little, as she forced herself to become more aware of her surroundings. She breathed out to Linuen quietly, “Linuen, please, I need you to injure me…it’s the only way…”, staying upright only from sheer will.

Linuen Frost - Kei Aoi Seventh Division, Third Seat - Memory
Falhannah's expression became vague as she stare in silence at Shizuka, Linuen and Alestha. "Kei-sama... Their pace changed. They seem to be planning something crucial." She said and then turned to look at the former Fourth Division captain with concern; Kei Aoi merely smiled, an expression that seem to mix between excitement and interest.
"Do not worry, these will test both their limits, Falhannah. Remember, this spar was not for Linuen from the start. It was for Shizuka all along. As you have observed, we are no longer existing in the future. Somehow, I wanted to make sure that who guided Linuen's path is someone that was able to carry her own weight and her present 'student'." Kei Aoi said in a calm and gentle voice. Falhannah looked at Kei with awe.
However, before the Zanpakutou could reply from Kei's words, the splinters of the former bench flung into Shizuka's direction and struck her own body. Linuen never looked so horrified by this and looked at his captain with shock. Kei, on the other hand, grunted all of the sudden and found himself on the floor. Blood immediately came out of his mouth. "Falhannah! Cancel the connection at once." Kei Aoi said with a worried tone.
Linuen wasted no time after being shocked for a few seconds. Like Getsuei said at him, he needs not to be worried. He immediately drew his blade and then started at his own captain. However, before he could move towards Shizuka, he found himself in a large cube and couldn't move his limbs. "What?!" he exclaimed in frustration.
Falhannah was standing next to the cube and then snapped a look at Shizuka, who was serious about the decision she made. The Zanpakutou couldn't believe that this captain was going to sacrifice her own just to gain the upper hand. "Reality Reversal." Falhannah whispered. And then, with a loud snapping sound, the cube expanded until it engulfed everything around it, thus enclosing Shizuka and the rest, even Kei in a large confinement.
Linuen was shocked to see himself looking at the sky upside down. He tried moving at his left but found his arms moving at the right. He even gasped for air found himself sighing. "Taichou?!" he called out in horror.
"This should be enough to hold you guys until we find a way to turn the tables..." Falhannah said softly but her voice filled with danger and seriousness.

Her mind was functioning rather well, as she had learnt to detach her mind from the pain of her body. However, she knew that they would not be able to last for too long. They’d need to leave it up to her zanpakuto spirits for now, since Kei had been included in the confinement. It wasn’t like he would be able to last for long either, due to the fact that she was directly linking her mind to his. To anybody, it was a simple thing and the ultimate double-edged sword. If your enemy attacked you, he felt as if he was getting attacked too but one had to sacrifice something too. Barely able to breathe, her gasps became ragged, marked by the blood loss she was experiencing at the moment. However, she focused briefly to attempt to move her arm towards the right, but her arms moved left. Some sort of reality reversal from what Falhannah had called it. Pain shot up her arm as she moved it around, which she promptly linked to Kei’s mind. It would be hard for Linuen to injure her like this and almost impossible for her to injure herself. As Linuen called out in horror, she roused herself, saying weakly, “Linuen, you--”
Unable to continue what she had been intending to say, she cursed herself for being so weak. Unfortunately, being physically weaker than the other more offensive Captains meant that she couldn’t take attacks as well and if she didn’t control her mind all the time, she would have already keeled over and screamed in pain about her injuries. Right now, she knew what she needed to do and what she wanted to tell Linuen to do, but she could not mutter more than one word at the moment. “Getsuei…” she mumbled weakly under her breath, sending an urgent distress signal to her zanpakuto spirit. For now, she’d have to rely on Getsuei’s ability to read her thoughts for now, to get the vital message to Linuen. Closing her eyes, she drifted between consciousness and unconsciousness, trying to keep away any thoughts of the pain and the fact that if Linuen wasn’t careful enough, he might accidentally end up killing her.
Getsuei, who had been glaring at Falhannah and wondering what that cube was, had been distracted by a sudden signal from Shizuka. Skimming through Shizuka’s thoughts, she winced slightly. Ouch. A reality reversal was especially nasty, since this was not exactly a real reality and thus, could be subject to change pretty easily. That was not the point of Shizuka’s message, since there was apparently something that Getsuei had to tell Linuen. Sighing slightly, she sent a telepathic message, relaying what Shizuka had said, Linuen, Shizuka tells me to tell you, ‘cause apparently she can’t speak at the moment, to attempt to injure her still. It seems as if everything is reversed, she says, so use your mind and do everything opposite. So if you’re intending to move right, move left instead. Oh, yeah, she says not to give up either. Getsuei paused momentarily, as if thinking about something, before continuing on in a more threatening tone, You’d better not let Shizuka down, she places so much of her trust in you.

Linuen Frost - Kei Aoi Seventh Division, Third Seat - Memory
Linuen nodded and knew what to do. In order to fully defeat his former Sensei, he must do so by dealing a considerable amount of damage at Shizuka. It made him sad though, that he had to hurt his captain. But nonetheless, this plan was one of the most bright ones at the current situation. They had now Kei Aoi in their grasps and until at this moment, the former Fourth Division captain remains in their own spell. It must be an opportunity that must be taken with the best of their abilities and as fast as they could.
He shook his head in disapproval and faced the direction of his captain. He thought of running backwards and he stepped forward, just as they planned it would happen. Linuen yelled a shout of joy at this defeat of logic deep inside him and then with a strong burst of strength, he managed to dash towards Shizuka. Then, he pointed his hand at her and yelled, "Bakudo #4! Hainawa!" And then, with a short burst of reiatsu from his hand, a rope sprang from it and immediately entangled Shizuka. With a strong pull of strength, he pulled Shizuka's body and moved on forwards at her at the same time. He pulled his blade and then slashed at her.
But it was only an instant that he found himself pulling his blade backwards. He looked around and found the cube now gone from the area and was now back to normal. He gasped only in time to see that he was throwing Shizuka outwards away from him. "Taichou!" He yelled out to her but before he could go to check her status, he felt a finger touch his shoulder.
"Do not remember that we are still here." Kei Aoi said with a short pull of air. "Shatter Cube..." he said softly and in that instant, a cube formed around Linuen. The young man could only gasp in astonishment as three watery-blue spears struck the cube at its three faces top and its two sides. With a loud shattering sound, the cube broke and Linuen fell from it, heavily damaged from the swift attack from Kei.

A small sigh escaped her as she hoped and prayed that it would work. If not, she would be forced to choose her last resort, which was something that she was definitely not planning on using, for the effect that it would have upon both her and Kei. Tensing herself, she waited for an attack that never came. Instead, she found herself being thrown outwards, landing on the ground with a thump. It was the pain that shot through her body again, that roused her and forced her back into consciousness. Her zanpakuto spirit appeared next to Shizuka, breaking apart the ropes and throwing them to one side. Spitting out blood onto the ground, she struggled to a vertical position, just in time to see a cube breaking and Linuen falling out from it, heavily damaged. “No, no, no…Linuen,” she weakly breathed out, before nearly collapsing.
It was her zanpakuto spirit that caught her this time, supporting her weight. Shizuka herself barely noticed this as she was wrapped up in her thoughts and her anxieties. She couldn’t move until her body was replaced or she re-worked her entire self. This would be more difficult than replacing Linuen’s body like before, due to the sheer fact that Getsuei was the only one alone that had to do this, instead of their two minds working together. There was no other choice for her, nothing else for her to do but risk everything in this ultimate gamble. Beside her, she heard Getsuei gasp in shock. They had not planned on this and she had jumbled up her thoughts before now, so that there would be no arguments. “Only one way, Getsuei, only one way…” Shizuka whispered.
Their minds were in perfect sync and they knew what they needed to do. Closing her eyes again, Shizuka fought her body against the pain and slumped, letting her mind drift off into bare consciousness. Getsuei’s face had become determined, and this time, there could be no mistakes. It would affect Shizuka more than Kei, but still, it would be a painful thing for anyone. Steeling herself, she formed Shizuka’s zanpakuto in her hand, muttering quietly, “If it is meant to be, let it be.” In one swift sharp movement, she stabbed forcefully twice into Shizuka’s body, puncturing both lungs and depriving Shizuka of oxygen. The feeling was immediately sent to Kei. As she well knew, there was only a few seconds for her to be able to save Shizuka’s mind in, before Shizuka died.
The world around them trembled and blurred, images merging into one another, until the place became unrecognizable, switching from one area to another – all that Shizuka had seen in other people’s minds. Shizuka herself had descended into deep blackness, unable to keep her hold on anything. It was only her sheer willpower and her previous cautions that had made sure that of all things, Shizuka, Alestha, Getsuei and Linuen would stay in this world while Kei and Falhannah would not fade like the others. Reaching out with a hand, Getsuei worked furiously to pierce together a new body for Shizuka, collecting the pieces of Shizuka’s mind and fitting them together like a jigsaw puzzle.
In a short while, it was done, although Shizuka’s new body was yet to reappear. Instead, Shizuka’s battered and broken body was left upon the battlefield, completely empty of a soul and a mind. Unfortunately, Getsuei had to compensate for the short time, meaning that it would firstly take Shizuka longer to appear and her body would be not as advanced as before, giving her less power. However, there was still time, before Shizuka would be able to grasp control of her new body and be able to implement commands. Thus, she had to distract Kei and Falhannah until Shizuka returned. Shifting quickly, Getsuei grasped hold of Linuen, lifting him and shifting again further away. She carefully laid Linuen on the ground, attempting not to cause any more injury as she mumbled, “Rest for now, we will have to fight later…when and if Shizuka returns.” She disappeared before reappearing in front of Falhannah. With one single click of her fingers, a scythe appeared on her hands as she looked at the other zanpakuto spirit. “Care to play a game with me?”
