It had been awhile since she had been away from her new friend Tigerlily. Sure the bear was rather large, but she seemed to be gentle enough to trust. In fact, Terabithia would have trusted her over any strange wolf any day. But with the bear gone for the evening, she had decided to take a walk to the riverside.
Her thirst had driven her on, and she felt a little rush of excitement at the solitude she had found. The pack was growing each day, and with Willow soon to be expecting the pups that would be hers.. She smiled brightly and took a deep breath. It was odd, being a mother without actually..bearing the children. She wondered if one day she would bear young of her own, but she knew that these would be just as much hers as any wolf pup that was borne from her.
Her mind was deep in those happy thoughts that fills every first time mothers mind.
The water she could hear rushing, but only faintly, as once she actually reached the water, she lay on her belly, and stared into it. She hesitated to drink it, not wanting her day dream to end just yet.
Life was happy right now, and she feared breaking the thoughts would keep them from her mind.
Of course she knew that was just silly... She looked up at the sky, and the moon stared down at her with great fury. How beautiful it was tonight.. She just didnt want to close her eyes. What if she missed something?..

 Winston liked the evening he found once the heat of the day had dissipated, the sun now under a blanket of indigo and sparling stars, that it was easier to think clearly. He inhaled deeply, these late summer evenings were glorious things, though there was a musty hint of baked earth smell to almost every lungful of air he brought in there were other scents as well, masked at all other times of day, different sorts of subtle flowers now had a chance to stake their claim to existence to the wolves sense of smell and he enjoyed all of them immensely. It had been a few days now that he had come across the pack lands, being questioned as to whether he was suitable, he passed it seemed, well he was here wasn't he and though he had aspirations for great things he had yet to meet either of the alphas or masters as they were called.
He rambled on, contented by the sound of the trickling, musical sound of the babbling water as it rolled across it's stony bed. He began humming to himself, the sound low and rumbling, with the methodical rhythm of a bear walking. 'Hurumpth pump piddly pum pum pum.' His eyes, a mixture of earthen brown and grassy green, depending on the light, didn't really have a focal point, they moved about in the moons light just generally admiring the landscape in the silver light when they came to rest upon another wolf. 'Hmmm now, who do we have here.' he mused to himself and then called out, 'Ho there.' He plodded on.
Winston was a rather stout sorta fellow, though when he was a little younger he was more agile and sprightly though his current state and age suited him far better. He was broad of shoulder, his hips being only slightly slimmer but his back was rather longer than most. However what he had in length he lost in height; his legs where stout and short which reminded most that look upon him of tree stumps and his face was round, his brow line low and his eyes set back, but if you looked into them you saw intelligence beam within.
As he came closer his eyes widened and then relaxed, it was Terabithia which filled is pupils. She lay gazing into the water below and he wondered what she was thinking of in that moment, he seemed to have stumbled onto what seemed like a private moment, he coughed rather awkwardly and excused himself, 'Hurmpth, hm, yes-s-s-s, well, s-s-s-sorry to-to-to dis-s-s-sturb you there madam. Hm, yes-s-s, do f-f-f-forgive me.' He shook his head and looked down at the floor then up again, he nodded to himself and then turned to leave the female to her private thoughts.

Her heavy head lifted from the waters edge when she heard the other, and her eyes widened a bit in surprise. She supposed she should have been paying more attention, but she wasnt against having a bit of company. She knew the sage green wolf had recently come to these lands, and he was welcome, as were most who came to them. She believed in equality, and freedom.. Something that the wolves here had. Of course, freedom was defined by each individual, and the rules had been placed were followed closely.
It was for a moral code after all.. Something you had to have to survive in the lands.
She sat up, quickly shaking herself off of debris.
"Oh no sir. You are fine, and not intruding by any means. I was just daydreaming I guess." She mused, her eyes lighting up with the idea of company. She loved meeting her pack members, there was a bit of.. trust in each meeting that one could not have with rogues.
"What is your name, sage one?" She asked, as there had been so many joining recently, she regreted that she hadnt learned their names sooner.
She stretched out her paws, letting her muscles grow tight before standing tall once she felt her body ease. She smiled, wagging her tail once or twice before cocking her head.
Was that a stutter she noticed? It certainly made him different, though she felt sure that maybe it could be from being nervous. Time would tell she supposed.

Winston paused on his heel as he had began to turn, Terabithia called him back, perhaps then after all she wasn't as in such deep thoughts that he'd be troubling them but then Winston also knew dark thoughts were not welcomed one's and a little company and light conversation often dispersed such things from one's mind, either way Winston was only to happy to oblige the young lady. He harrumphed deeply, clearing his throat and declared, 'W-e-e-e-l-l-l.' He shook his head and growled a little to himself, damn stutter how he loathed it, he focused, 'Well now, a little daydreaming is always a good thing, I like to enjoy the pastime quite frequently.' He turned fully now, facing the Master full on and a warming smile cracked across his board face and his eyes deepened into an honest earthen brown.
'Sage one,' he harrumphed again and a chuckled soon after and nodded in a confirmatory manner, 'Yes I like that, nice earthy honest herb there.' He chuckled again but for another reason this time, he was an intelligent wolf and at times, when he was on the ball, he was very quick witted but when relaxed as he was this night, he had a very bad habit of straying from the point and he knew it but he humoured himself in a good mannered way. 'Sorry about that my Lady I have a lot of bad habits, but they aren't malice and I must be forgive for them.' He smiled at her and bowed at her then and then looked up once more, 'My name is Winston.' He looked her deep into the eye then forming a bond of sorts for names held a certain power over a person and it was a gift only to be given by it's owner, however when you were as well known as any alpha your name often travelled upon the wind, for that was the way of things and though he knew who he stood in front of he did not admit to it, he was a gentleman after all and a Lady was permitted her secrecy that was what made them so charming after all. So asking for her name was the polite manner of things rather to continue the conversation as if he had more knowledge than she had freely given.
He smiled honestly at her, 'So then, you have my name might I know the name of this beautiful figure I stand humbly stand before?'
