Your name:Tiger_Kisa699 Cat's Name:Santori Which Cat:Bobtail Prompt Number:1 Prompt Response:
Santori had been in her cage, her hell…her darkness for so long. She curled in the corner in fear every day. She had just barely had her eyes open when she had been snagged and taken into this place of darkness, blood and fear. She had been ignored and half cared for, for days whe they finally came to her. She looked at the human in white with gloves and a mask and she shook in fear as hands grabbed her.
She was taken to a room, poke with needles and they shaved some fur on her arm. They stuck things in her and looked inside her ears and eyes. They liked her eyes a lot for some reason. They poked at it a little and she screamed in pain and thrashed about in the straps they had tied about her. She cried and they put her back for the day. She would enjoy the use of her eyes for only a little longer.
The next morning Tori was woken to more hands and she fought. Her eye still hurt from them poking and prodding at it. They tied her up again and gave her a shot to her face to numb her eye but she was still awake. They cut at her eye, and began removing it as she screamed. She felt no real pain, but her mind was an explosion of fear as her eye went dark and was gone. She fought the straps as they looked at her eye, forgetting she was there for the moment. She screamed and fought but it was no use. They had wanted to see how a young cat took to pain like this. They held her there till her shot wore off and then she flailed and screamed till she collapsed. They had done this once before on another kitten when they took his leg, but this was an eye. And they liked what they saw. They made notes and then sent her away as the looked over her eye.
They put her back and she flailed about, disorientated with one eye now. She got blood all over her small cage, all over herself. After who knew how long she was out of fight and collapsed in the corner and panted. Her eye hurt now. She was in so much pain. She bit into her leg to try and distract her pain someplace else but it didn’t work. She cried and cried and screamed as her body shook with the pain. She looked at the blood, her blood on the walls and shook. She wasn’t whole any more. She was half of her self. Half of anything that could be useful right now. She curled into the corner and shook as she watched her crimson blood dry to the walls and harden.
The next day they stitched up her eye socket and bandaged it. She was light headed from her screams and her pain. But they fed her and gave her a shot of meds. She slept for a bit. When she woke up next she was back in her cage and she was bandaged. She looked down at the leg she had bit, it was covered in her dried blood from the other day… She began to clean herself, she was covered in her own blood from her fight over nothing. She shook a little and tried to forget the pain by cleaning herself. Leg clean, now other leg. Clean, now chest. Clean, now back. And when she was clean again she slept.
And slept.
She was woken by loud noises and a human with an angry cat on his face hit her cage and knocked it open. She looked around shaking and moved her head back and forth to see cats jumping and running and screaming all over. She wanted out too…now was as good of time as any right?
She jumped down and ended up rolling across the ground. She winced but stood and took off following the cats as they ran out. She was small but her agility was down a lot now that she had one eye. And she wasn’t used to so much movement, having been locked in a cage for so long. She tumbled down a shaft with the other cats and made sure her bandage was still on before bolting. When over the rail she took to a bush and hid. It was over. She had grass…she had freedom! She looked up and her eye saw stars. She smiled, knowing she wouldn’t ever go back to inside something. She would be a star baby and would never be put inside something ever again!

Your name: Lunaur Cat's Name: Jenna Which Cat: Bobtail Prompt Number: 3 Prompt Response:
Jennas heart was racing. She was trying to do everything to look normal, she couldnt give away her plan, but the more she thought about it the faster her heart beat. The sound made her nervous how did no one else hear it! her heart was practically about to bounce out of her chest and through the bars of her cage! She tried to breathe deeply to calm herself, but she was so close...The younger human came into the lab right on schedule just like Jenna knew he would. He was younger than all the others who poked and prodded all of the animals here. His hands were still uncalloused and though he wasnt necessarily nice to any of them it was easy to tell by the way he grabbed and handled the animals that he was still unsure of how he was supposed to do things. Thats what Jenna needed, it was what she depended on. He came towards her cage and she cowered in a far corner like she always did, her heart began to pump faster, his hand opened the lock on the cage, she tensed, the cage door opened. Jenna pounced.
She flew straight at the younger human, she had to give all or nothing it was the only way to get out of this place! Everything seemed for a moment to happen in slow motion, she flew through the air and landed, claws outstretched, on the young mans shoulder. She dug in her paws as she tried to climb over him, he yelled in surprise and pain and since jenna was on her shoulder the sound was deafening. It took her by surprise and for a moment she was frozen, clinging to his shoulder will all her might. She knew she had to snap out of it she had to keep going but her body was frozen in indecision. While she was frozen clinging onto his shoulder she felt a sudden pressure around her middle and knew he was trying to pull her off of him. She clung to his coat and hoped that her claws were penetrating his skin to give her a better hold. But he was squeezing and pulling her to get off of him. She was only a kitten the pain was too much and she mewed in pain and distress as she felt her hold on his coat break and she slowly began to come away from his shoulder.
Luckily for her he was indeed young and impulsive, he flung her in the general direction of her open cage. As soon as she felt the release of his hand Jenna knew she was flying in the air, she flailed and twisted trying to turn and see where she was going but she was flying through the air way too fast. She had turned only halfway and so she only saw the metal frame for an instant before she hit it. She bounced off of the frame and landed heavily on her left shoulder. She mewed in pain and for an instant she was done, she wanted to just lay there and let them come get her. She took a deep breath as tears stung her eye. She just wanted to get out, she was tired of being tested on, she didnt want to do it anymore! She just wanted her mother! She wanted her Mother! Jenna mewed again and grew even more depressed and listless as she realized that she had been taken from her mother when she was so young that she didnt even remember what her mother looked like, what she felt like...even what she smelled like! She felt the spark of rebellion start to die within her as she realized that these humans had not only taken her mother away but they did it in a way that made sure Jenna didnt even have memories to escape to!
Jenna lay there, she could hear the human start to walk towards her, he would be here to punish her again in a moment. Part of her screamed at her to move, run, escape! Jenna did her best to sit up and bit back another mew as the pain from her shoulder raced down her entire foreleg. She was too young to deal with this, why did the humans do this?! She began to limp along the wall, slowly, she had never been this physically and mentally exhausted before, she limped slowly towards the door making sure to stay under the lab tables and out of sight. She could see the door, she was almost there, she began to limp a little faster. Maybe she could make it, after all this she had to make it. She couldnt run because of the pain but she started to hobble as fast as she could, her paws making no sound on the smooth tile. Maybe she could get out of this place, out of the cold smooth room. She got closer to the door it was almost there, she could hear shoes running on the tile, oh no the man was after her, she tried to go faster, she couldnt stop now! She burst into a run, she no longer cared about the pain in her shoulder, it was nothing like the pain when they had taken her eye, or like the pain of waking up every day in this place. She sprinted towards the door she passed through it, this was it, she was going to be free! Soon she would be free, free at last!
Suddenly something was all around her it made her feet tangle, she couldnt see, she fought with it, made angry sounds, hissed, clawed, what was this! She felt herself being lifted into the air, no, NO! She was Free she had made it through the door she had earned her freedom. She fought and kicked, but it was getting hot she couldnt breathe properly. She suddenly felt herself roughly handled, she saw light but before she could jump a hand had her by the scruff of her neck. She mewed, as her body automatically went limp. She cursed her instincts, she knew it wasnt her mother holding her but her body refused to obey her. She was roughly put back into her cage. She jumped at the closing door but this time she only hit the bars. She mewed and hissed as she saw what had caught her. Someone had thrown a lab coat over her. She stared out through the bars of the cage as the humans got ready to leave, the older ones were there now, they looked over the young one and led him out of the room. She watched as they walked through the door. She screamed after them "I MADE IT THROUGH THE DOOR, I'M FREE! YOU CANT KEEP ME! I EARNED IT! I'M FREE! CAN YOU HEAR ME?!....I'M FREE.....I earned it......I'm free..." She stared out the cage bars, out at her world of tile and chrome. She had made it through the door....she slumped against the bars. She had been free....

Your name: `Swirly Cat's Name: Yankee Which Cat: British Shorthair Prompt Number: #2 Prompt Response:
Good god, the heat was stifling. The 22 year old male kicked out at the cage door pissily and then felt the need to smack himself on the hand, he was behaving as childishly as some of the children in here. It was his own fault. He had gone willingly with the stupid human oh.. how many years ago? And had entered into a never ending personal hell.
The cage was smelly, small, ungodly drab, had no privacy, and the worst part? The bloody idiots had hung a sign outside the door with his “name” on it, “Yankee.” If he had wanted to be some heathen-minded yankee he’dve been one. God Save the Queen if his family ever found out that he’d been re-named Yankee. All well, he’d get used to his name anyways since it wasn’t likely he’d remember his old name anytime soon. Day dreaming, one eye open Yank continued to tap his foot lazily against the door. Probably annoyed some of the other cats around him, but they annoyed him just for being so close.
Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap, Tap, Suh-winggg.
“Blimey!”
The door… was… open? And there wasn’t a human trying to play grab arse with him?
Inching forward, short blond hair falling in front of his eyes, Yank peered down and came nose to nose with a little brown-eyed girl with her hair pulled back into a pony tail, tips done in spiral curls. Her outfit, a misfit shirt with a lot of midriff and a rather short skirt completed it. Staring at her, mouth wide, Yank jerked back, “Bloody hell, you scared me.”
Airi, annoyed to have found a fully grown male and not some cute little baby to let loose glared at him as if it were his fault, “Dammit, shut up and get out of there, are you stupid?” Swishing her grey and white splotched tail she turned and started to head out, her game plan was to let cats out one by one instead of mass exodus chaos.
“Wait a minute bird, what are you doing?” Yank slid down from the cage and stretched, looking around with disgust then back to her.
“What does it look like? I’m letting cats out of this hellhole, but if you’d like to stay I can lock you back up nice and tight.”
“To hell with that… How did you get in here?”
“Well if you’d shut the hell up I could show you the way out of here, or are you too dim-witted to figure that out?”
“Why you little…” Yank swished his own tail and took off after her as she dodged around corners neatly. Shrugging, figuring that she probably was heading towards the exit Yank followed after her and tried to breathe through his mouth. The place was so grey, huge, and dingy. How had it been in operation for so long? How had nobody ever noticed what a nasty place this was? Frowning he continued after the girl and nearly hissed when the scent of dog managed to sneak into his nose. Yank wouldn’t say he was a coward, but the female was going along so quickly through a maze of twists and turns that it seemed almost reckless. His thin body bunched and then sprung in one fluid leap to where he could n** at her tail, “Listen.. don’t you think that…”
Airi had had it with this imbecile, and she spun at him and batted him hard on the head, “You listen buddy, I’ve been working for a week or two now to get this down pat and you’re closing my very narrow window to get out of here safely. The humans have some cat in testing right now or whatever the hell they do, but they’ll be back, you’ll be gone, and they’ll go on lock down.. so if it’s all the same shut the hell up.”
“Cranky little bugger aren’t you?” Chastised, but irritated Yank continued to follow, trying to remember all the turns that they had taken and his head starting to pound. It always felt like that when he tried to remember things just exactly, usually he went with the flow and accepted that he’d just only ever be able to get the “general picture” of things, but if this went south on him he’d rather be able to get back in his cage than take some sort of weird punishment that they bastards in here were likely to dole out. Strangely enough he was starting to feel a bit of adrenaline pumping through his system, the further away from his cage he got the cleaner it smelled, the whiter the building, the brighter it became. It was like realizing that there was indeed a light at the end of the tunnel. Yank picked up a faster pace, nipping hard on the females heels just because his heart was starting to pound up into his mouth. Holy Mary Full of Grace, he was going to be free, he was going to roll in the grass, he was going to … going to.. well, he didn’t really know much more than that but it was a god-send.
Finally, the female came to a hard halt that had him slamming into her rather cushy backside and earning him another sharp bat on the head, “Imbecile, our exit is through here. Pulling aside a vent, she squirmed through it and Yank looked at his own shoulders and groaned inside, this was going to hurt. Shoving himself through the very very narrow opening, he was surprised to feel the female tugging enthusiastically at him in way of helping. With a slight POP he felt his body give through the opening and then tumbling they went down the slanted vent.
Sliding, sliding… sliding… Air! Fresh air. Standing up, breathing deeply, freedom
BAM.
“Okay imbecile, in case you didn’t see that giant fence? We have to scale that before you can be obvious. Wait here while I close the vent, you shoved me before I could fix it.”
A few minutes? An hour? Seconds passed and she was back, crankily giving him the stink eye. Together now they flew towards the wall, bodies moving in tandem, his with joy, hers with determination. Digging in they both seemed to fly over the fence and then topple to the earth. God he was happy.. he was ecstatic.. he was… growling?
Looking down, the female was pinned beneath him and trying to kick some very sensitive body parts, leaning back Yank pulled her up beside him to sit and lean against the fence for a few moments, “I owe you.”
Standing, dusting off scarred legs she saluted him and took off at a dead run, “Try not to get caught again, imbecile.”
He was free… He was truly free… and now.. truly alone, what would he do now? A cat with a poor memory, no friends, no connections, and no bloody clue where he was.

Your name: Grieving Leonhart Cat's Name: Sorano Which Cat: Japanese Bobtail Prompt Number: 1 Prompt Response:
Pain. That was always her quaint little alarm clock, one which drew a piteous mew of pain from her. How long had it been? Days? Months? It was difficult to judge amongst the pain and the misery that made up her every waking moment.
Her time before her capture felt like a dream... One filled with blue sky and soft ground where everything was good. She remembered laughter, the smell of fish and flowers. There was happiness to be found and there was a sense of safety, security, that she would never have again.
A bitterness had begun to sink into her as, daily, her tormentors returned only to inflict a new kind of pain, a new kind of humiliation that they had conjured up seemingly overnight. She'd struggled hard at first, panic-stricken and in agony, but she had learned a hard lesson... That biding one's time was better, less terrible in the long run.
They had been experimenting on her, taking samples, and, finally, one needle had been too many and she had lashed out at the strange man clad in white. In his efforts to restrain her further the hypodermic needle he clutched slipped just enough... Right into her right eye. It had been agonizing, worse than anything she had ever endured... And they didn't care. These humans didn't care if she hurt, if she bled, if she was deformed for the rest of her existence. All they cared about was scooping out the remains of the ruined eye while she wailed in pain.
It had been difficult to cope with for a while. It burned, it ached, it bled, making her writhe and yowl in misery. Her depth perception had been off, causing her to bump into the bars of her cage while turning, causing only more pain. At one point she had been certain it had been infected. They didn't clean it, they didn't care if she died from it. It was just another test, another experiment to see just what she could endure and for how long. The swelling, itching, and pain had slowly faded... But it had left its mark on her in more than one way.
At the memory she turned her head, rubbing her right cheek against her paw and feeling the brush of the sloppy bandage that they had wrapped around the empty socket, one which had yet to be changed. She could wait, patiently, for the right time to make her escape. She could endure anything at their hands now, face any pain they subjected her to... But as she appeared to calm in their eyes they would grow careless. Their carelessness would be the key to her escape, even if it cost her a part of herself that had made her who she was before. All it would take would be an open cage door, a turned back... And then nothing, save her death, would keep her from freedom.

Your name: Novablu Cat's Name: Kite Which Cat: British Shorthair Male Master Prompt Number: 1 Prompt Response: Quote: You find yourself behind the bars of a horrifying cage, in an even more horrifying place. What happened? How did you get captured? What are they testing you for, what are they using? Do you have a plan for escape? Please explain.
The AC was cranked to high, the small room holding a frigid chill to the air. The walls were painted eggshell white, with a glass window between rooms. The tile floor was pristine, clean enough to eat off of. There was row after row of slick steel cages, the bars unbendable, held by a little latch that not even Kite's adept hands could open...and they could open alot of things.
The scarred orange tom was one of the first to inhabit these metal cages. One of the first. The first was a little tabby girl with a collar too tight for her neck and a pint-sized tail. Only about four, she'd stumbled into one of their traps and Kite, what an idiot he'd been, had tried to rescue her, only to get snagged by a wire loop around his leg. They'd been chucked into cages, side by side.
Of the two of them, he'd been the one to freak out. She, Rammy, had merely watched the humans through the bars of her cage with a look of hope on her face. A hope that they'd let her go. Kite managed to quell his panic long enough to reassure her that all would be fine. That they would soon get humans of their own, to take them from this cold place and into a home they would live the rest of their days in.
And what did the Two-Legs do? They took little Rammy and pricked her day after day with needles. They took blood, injecting her with all kinds of who-knows-what-it-was fluids. She became fuzzy-minded. She didn't remember her own name. And then, she'd quite simply died. He'd woken up to screaming in the cage beside him and she'd just...seized, blood spattered from her muzzle onto cold metal, and died with him reaching for her through the bars. He couldn't save her. He couldn't god-damn save her!
Now, months later, the room was filled with frightened, adament, sometimes crying, sometimes screaming cats. Some had bloody bandages. Some had missing bodyparts. Kite himself...saw things. Saw things he would've rather not seen. And he lost days at a time. Add that to the scars? He was pretty bad. At least he had both his eyes and his ears, little good that they did.
But escape, as much as he dreamed of getting everyone out of here, escape was out of the question. He'd tried so very hard to unlatch his cage. It was just...impossible at this angle.
Curling up in the back of the cage, he sighed and swept off to dreamland. He was reawoken by the sound of a squeak of metal and when he opened his bleary eyes, the door to his cage stood wide open. He gaped, rubbing his face. No. Another hallucination. "God damn you," he hissed at the sky softly.
"God doesn't damn anyone. We damn ourselves." A red-haired male with sparkling gold eyes popped up into his line of view.
Kite blinked again. Was this real life? "Who are you?"
"They call me Patch. Consider yourself lucky; I'm your very own guardian angel." Patch winked. "Now let's get out of this hellhole, shall we? I've got a girlfriend waiting back home and she'll be expecting me. If I don't get home she gets...frisky." He broke into a short laugh.
Kite didn't need to be told twice. He hopped out of the cage, landed on his feet and headed for the door. That's when he paused. "What about the others?" His eyes met the golden eyes of a little black kitten in the cage next to his old one. His heart hammered in his chest. "I'm not leaving without them."
"There's another wave of cats coming to get them. Don't worry. You'll all be free. Trust me." With that, Patch gave him a gentle shove towards the door. They bolted, got out through the air vents, and scaled the fence with the barbed wire at the top. It wasn't until they were a mile away that Kite slowed, his heart rate doubling. "Y-You're sure they'll get out?"
Patch grinned at him. "Positive. I've gotta go back now. Get back to Ikebokuro. It's truly a city of freedom."
But Kite was already on his way. He knew. He'd lived there before. And he missed it, terribly.
Now, if only the haze across his vision would go away. Things could get back to normal.

Your name: JetAlmeara Cat's Name: Eleison 'have mercy' Which Cat: Japanese Bobtail Female Prompt Number: 4 Quote: These humans here are all horrible, torturous monsters...but, there are some humans that aren't so bad. What sort of compassion do they show for you and the other cats? Do they sneak you food, pet you, hold you? Explain. Prompt Response: It was a familiar dream - and if at that moment she'd known she was dreaming things likely wouldn't be quite so distressing. But for the most part dreams were not recognized as such until you awoke and the tiny bobtail lay curled against the back of her cage, her one good eye twitching and rolling almost in time to the spasms of her paws as she slept, caught in the throes of the reaccuring nightmare. Eleison wasn't completely sure why the humans had placed her in the holding pen with the others, being a new addition to The Facility roster she had yet to grasp all of its intricacies. It seemed the other cats knew what to expect however as they milled about nervously or huddled in corners. She didn't understand why they seemed so very concerned - nothing terrible had happened to them yet. They should be happy at the chance to strech thier legs more then the small cages would allow. These thoughts had occupied her mind until hissing and spitting from the other side alerted her to a problem and ever the curious sort Eleison turned about to see what was happening.
Her eyes widening slightly as she recognized Nemesis, the male snowshoe that was housed next to her, getting into a scrap with another cat. The other cat was far larger and Eleison just knew..absolutely knew somewhere in her sweet little heart, that Nemesis was going to be seriously hurt if someone didn't stop them. Unfortunately the older cats in the pen seemed far more concerned with thier own issues then bothering with the fight. It was up to her then! Eleison the peacekeeper, to sort things out, the bobtail thought to herself as she hurried foreward, short tail jerking to and fro in agitation. "Hey!" She called out in a stern voice - hoping to get thier attention off one another before the fight even started...but alas it was not to be, she wasnt sure if the cats hadn't heard her or if they were just ignoring her but Nemesis and the larger cat closed with one another in a flurry of claws and teeth. In the resulting chaos as she bounded towards them Eleison was sure she saw the larger cat pin Nemesis to the ground. Angry now - as Nemesis was her only friend in this new home of hers, or at least she considered him a friend - Eleison launched herself forward "Leave him alone!" she'd yowled at the larger cat...and then time seemed to slow, the larger cat whipped around, an angry snarl on his face, eyes burning with fury, claws lashing out to slash violently across the side of her face. Stunned by the blow Eleison was vaguely aware of being spun into the side of the pen, of a warm liquid dripping along her cheek and a hazy darkness on that side of the world. Mewling piteously both for her own pain and worry for Nemesis, Eleison had tried to stand but her head was spinning somthing awful. Thankfully it seemed the humans had at long last been alerted to the disturbance as the next thing she knew she was being held down while they examined her wounds.
"Well this is certainly a set back" Said a female voice as her fingers roughly prodded the wounds. Elesion wasn't sure but the women sounded teribly dissapointed in her - which might unerstand the rough an angry handling as she scrubbed at the side of her face."It hurts!" She tried to tel them, struggling against the hands holding her until a small p***k in her paw startled her."A temporary one" A male voice agreed and it must of been him who had pricked her as his rough hand patted her gently "We'll just have to replace her spot in this trial with another cat. She can heal and go into the next round of testing" He continued as blackness swarmed over Eleison. She jerked awake, paws automatically pulling at the bandage that covered one eye. "You were dreaming again" came a gruff sounding voice to one side. "And leave your bandage alone or they'll just knock you out again to redo it!" He further threatened and Eleison sighed putting her paw back on the floor. "But it hurts" she told him in a sad voice before slinking over to the side of cage and swiveling her head so she could see him better. "It will hurt allot more if they have to treat it again" He scolded and Eleison didn't feel much like arguing with him - Nemesis hated the humans and while he told her he had his reasons he wouldn't elaborate on them other then to tell her own thoughts were stupid and she'd soon learn why. Eleison was pretty sure that Nemesis was just trying to protect her from something but the humans hadn't been as bad as he seemed to think they were so far - they'd taken care of her eye after the accident hadn't they?.The female when she came around wasn't all that friendly and once in a while she put some painful drops in the eye or prodded her a bit to much or stuck her with a needle or two but the male was nice - he reminded her somewhat of her former owner, but older and Eleison rather missed that little boy. She had never really understood why she'd been dropped off like she had been and when she had shared this thought with Nemesis he'd merely shaken his head and called her 'naieve'. Maybe she was...but Eleison didn't hate the way he did and she felt sorry for him and the misery he always seemed to project, she had decided rather early on the she'd try and help him. Weather he wanted her to or not...Surely the humans had a rason for keeping them here. Eleison had been raised by them and learned early on to trust them. Some of the humans here weren't very friendly but she was quite sure that was her own fault. She shouldn't have interfered, shouldn't have gotten injured! She would try her best from here on in - and make Nemesis realize the truth as she did so.

Your name: zombie_hunter1300 Cat's Name: Itsuki Which Cat: Brittish Shorthair master Prompt Number: 5 Prompt Response:
Itsuki woke to a gentle early morning breeze that rolled through the grass. He enjoyed the feeling of the grass on his skin and the way it smelled. It had been a little over a week sense he was freed from his small, over crowed little prison cell in that god awful building. He was glad to be away from that place and the ugly people who worked there. Itsuki shook his head to get the horrible memories out of his thoughts, he was free now and that’s all that mattered. He got to his feet and slowly walked over to his favorite tree to watch the rest of the sunrise. He love watching the sunrise and set everyday, watching all the beautiful colors in the sky most he had never seen before. He had spent most of his life in that building and didn’t know much of the outside world. He had heard stories from the other cats at night of what it was like out side the white walls he saw every day.
Suki finally reached the tallest branch and sat down running his hands over the rough bark of the tree. This is what he dreamed of every day and night, experiencing every thing this world had to offer. He had made a promise to Tokiwa and he intended to keep it. His hand touched his necklace that his dead lover had given him. It had been almost a month since that humans came and took his Tokiwa away from him and ever sense then he has been planning his escape. He know that Toki would be proud of him now that he was outside living on his own. Suki smiled as the last of the colors faded from the morning sky to give away to the bright blue morning sky. He sat in the tree a little longer taking in all the smells that the light breeze was bringing to him.
He loved to be outside cause everything was new to him. He loved the warm sun on his face but he liked the rain even more. It had been raining the night he escaped, and the falling water had frightened him a little at first because he didn’t know what was happening but the more time he spent in the rain the more he enjoyed it. The feeling of water falling on his face, through his hair and down his tail was a wonderful feeling, it was a freeing feeling like all the bad memories were being washed away.
But his favorite thing about the rain was the way everything smelled afterwards, so fresh and clean. Suki still couldn’t believe that he was free so he loved to touch everything to make sure this wasn’t some wonderful dream he was having. As he sat on the branch and looked over everything he had yet to explore he said a silent goodbye to the tree he was in and that he had sat in every morning for the past week, he knew it was time to get out and explore everything he could, to make new friends and possibly find a new home with a new partner. He was sad that he couldn’t share it with Toki but he knew that Toki wouldn’t want him to spend his life outside all alone. Suki climbed down the tree and ran his hands over its bark one last time before setting out into the forest to start his new life.

Your name: ladyfirefox89 Cat's Name: Marie Emilai Jeanette Which Cat: Bobtail Prompt Number: 4 Prompt Response:
The streets of London echoed his name with fear. Jack the Ripper. Though, in the lab he was known by another name. His true name.
He sat at his desk and flipped through his journal containing his thoughts and notes. Whenever an experiment had gone bad or didn’t work, he would always lose himself in the pages to remember his dream. And all he was working for.
August 1st, 1888 The streets crawl with filth. Their fake smiles disgust me when they wink at me. Each time, a hunger comes over me to choke the life from their temptress bodies. But I must plan this right; I must plan it so no one knows. I have an idea, dear journal. Their bodies must contain the spirits of felines. Only treacherous animals as those could tempt married men to betray their wives at home. And I plan to prove it; I have ideas to prove it. I figure if I kill one of the dirty prostitute’s as the cat is pregnant, then one of the kittens will have a mark, a pattern, a sign that it was the prostitute and is taking its true form of the birthed feline. I will start experiments soon. I must, I am not getting younger and I am not sure how long I can pay off the facility I work for in order to keep my experiments secret. I will start before the new moon, on the night when the moon calls them to my door, and I can finally start my tests.
September 8th, 1888 I must confess journal, my spirits dim with each failure. Though I am not sure whether to call them failures or not. They are mine, for sure. I keep each litter for a few days to see if any marks appear….. None have as yet. It is disheartening to say the least. The other scientists seem to appreciate the litters I hand over to them though. They seek frivolous treatments for blindness, deafness, even death. If only they could see the importance on my experiments. But I dare not utter a word of it, in case word got out of the deaths I have caused. The latest was certainly interesting, to say the least. The whore has a daughter that works here. She cleans the cages and sweeps the floor with the most pitiful frown and empty eyes you have ever seen. Once I had learned of her mothers, shall we say ‘profession’, I told her to invite her mother for dinner. The stupid women agreed, of course. It makes me laugh how stupid those whores are, trying to get into my pants to get into my wallet I am sure.
September 9th, 1888 Success, journal. I think I finally did it. The brats mother was the key after all. I had the most fun feeling her life slip away. A grin slipped onto the doctor’s face as he thought of what he had done to her. How he had done it, and how easy it had become to kill the female and the females before her. He looked back to the journal and began to write again. It was in a room in this very facility. As one of the kittens popped out, I slit her neck and let her blood drain. It’s not the only thing I did to mark her. On this one, I gauged out her eye as a mark, to see if it would affect the kitten. A most marvelous site is was. I would have never noticed the kittens oozing eye if that whore’s brat hadn’t pointed it out two days later. She came to ask if I had seen her mother since the dinner we had planned. I lied and told her she never showed up. I had never thought that child’s frown could get deeper, but it did. His eyes creased a little as his smile widened. It had been a pleasure to see the whore’s child even sadder. Once again, he went back to his writing. I had to almost kick the child out of the room, it wouldn’t stop staring at the kitten. But I can’t have brats disturbing my work. Especially after I might have finally had a success! I will keep you informed, dear journal. But for now it is getting late and I think I heard a noise outside my door.
The doctor got up and opened his door. Seeing nothing, he closed his door and exited the building. Just then, the girl was able to let out the breath she had been hiding. The door had creaked behind her when she had tried to sneak in. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t get the image of that kitten out of her mind. She had been scolded heavily when she knocked over a beaker of liquid when she was trying to clean cages, then again when she had made too much noise when sweeping. Which, admittedly, she didn’t even know was possible. It was silent that night, every cat and kitten seemed to be sleeping in their cage. She walked through the aisle of metal till she came to the cage she was looking for. The doctor had put the kitten in its own cage when the girl had discovered its eye, saying it was special. The girl had felt the same with the kitten. It drew her in when she looked at it, an unspeakable connection with it. The girl’s curiosity and loneliness made her come to see the kitten again. She looked through the bars and almost jumped as a yellow eye peered back at her. She had thought all the cats were asleep, but this one had sensed her and woken up. As it walked to the front of the cage, the girl opened it, taking it and holding it up in the dim light of the moon shining in a high window. “Hello there, little kitten. Has anyone welcomed you to the world yet?” The girl smiled as the kitten opened its mouth to meow, and no sound came out. The girl tilted her head a little and brought the kitten down to rest against her heart. “…can I tell you a secret, little kitten?” Her voice broke a little with the whisper. As to give her full attention, the kitten looked up to her with an unblinking eye. “You remind me a lot like my mum, with that yellow eye. She used to say her yellow eyes drew in the customers….” The girl blinked away tears as she uttered the next sentence. “She seems to be missing, little kitten. And I can’t let you stay here, not with your injured eye and me being all alone.”
The girl worked hard after finding the supplies to bandage the kitten’s eye. She had never wrapped anything, but it seemed to hold well enough. She could already see a tiny bit of blood bleeding through the gauze, so she decided to bring it with her. Lifting the little kitten again, she told it “That should be better. Now at least the dirt will stay out. I’ve decided to give you a name little kitten. It was my mother’s name. Your name is now Marie Emilai Jeanette. Emilai wasn’t her middle name, but you look like an Emilai too.” The kitten mouthed a meow, once again no sound came. It made the girl giggle and she opened the door to the outside. She didn’t notice the shadow following here through the parking lot.
A few blocks away, the figure attacked her and knocked her down. A dark, sinister voice spoke through the dark “I can’t let you do that, brat. Not when my experiment finally worked!” Spit flung under the girls face as she was pinned to the ground. She struggled, trying to reach the kitten that had been knocked into a box and lay still. The doctor’s laugh sounded through the air “I realize you might be attached to that kitten, but you can’t have her!” His hands tightened around her neck as her struggling weakened. “You see, after I killed that wretched mother of yours, her soul went into that kittens body. I can’t let you ruin work that could bring me hundreds of pounds.” His eyes grew crazy; finally they could no longer hide what he held inside. Tears streamed down the young girls cheeks. She had known something was wrong when her mother didn’t show up home, and even stranger because she knew her mother would have never missed the chance to have dinner with a man. Her eyes blurred and her head pounded as the doctor lifted his hand “How fitting for you to die like this. To die like your whore mother before you yourself could become that very thing.” His hand removed itself from her neck just in time for a scalpel to screech against her neck.
Just then the cat awoke and crawled to the girl’s arms. The last thing the girl saw before she bled to death was the kitten she had escaped with, and a blurry vision of her mother. The kitten licking her cheek as the vision of her mother kissed her forehead. The kitten shivered as she felt the chill of death enter the arms wrapped around her. They were flung open as the doctor grabbed the kitten and shook it. A noise finally exited the little kitten’s mouth as it hissed and attacked the man who had killed the only person that had been nice to her, to Marie Emilai Jeanette. Her claws sank into his skin as he lost his balance. The hissing in his ears making his crazy mind turn scared. A screeching scream pitched through the air. Silencing as he turned and fell onto his stomach. And onto the scalpel in his breast pocket, which pierced into his heart.
The kitten limped as she crawled out from under the second lifeless body in the alleyway. The doctor had been killed. Warmth filled the little kitten as the sun appeared and lay on it like a warm blanket signaling the end of a long hurtful night. It collapsed onto the ground and passed out. A feeling of comfort mixed with sadness. Her only friend was dead, but so was the man who experimented on her. She could rest easy, for now. And so could London, for Jack the Ripper was dead.
