I wasn't sure where to ask this question so I came here. I'm writing a fanfic and I'm not sure who is top in the relationship. I mean I always thought it was Dean despite the so called "Height Rule". He is older and Sam is more sensitive. Dean seems like he might be the type to try to please Sam by being top and taking control. But I also feel he could be the type that would want to give himself completely over to Sam therefore being bottom/uke.
So what does everyone else think? (and should I be asking this somewhere else? sweatdrop )

So I'm not a Wincest fan in the way that I actively seek out fanfictions or try to turn instances in an episode into something they're not unless it's rather blatant, but I'm gonna answer this question (hopefully) un-biasedly.
I think, that it'd depending on the situation, would depend on who tops. I see both boys as cocky and confident at times, so I don't think there would be a "rule" as for who tops. More... as "what feel better/ more natural writing" bit.
I'm sorry that hasn't helped.
Hopefully some more-experienced Wincest fanatics will help you with that.

Eep I think Sam would top because he seems more like, bigger and I think in those situations he'd be more...aggressive? Geez I don't know how to describe it. Like the dominatrix? I know that's more Dean but I don't know. I certainly don't write Wincest but if I did, I'd make Sam top. IDK.

i'm not a bit wincest fan in the normal sense, i just dont see Sam and Dean hitting it off. that being said Dean/Adam is a totally different story i mean cuz its technically wincest but not really cuz their halfbrothers but i prefer it.
I also tend to think that Dean would top in most circumstances, but ive read some very good fanfics where he doesnt so it really just depends on the story and how things play out and what you as the author want.

Okay, so I'm late as Hell to the game, but I thought I'd throw in my two cents anyway.
So, I do like wincest, and I've read a good amount of it. In most of the wincest I read, it's Sam being top. (I don't use seme and uke because that is referring to yaoi, and we're dealing with 'real' people here.) Now, I'm sure a lot of you have probably paid special attention to the sex scenes that the boys have respectively, right? Then you probably noticed that when Dean is getting it on, regardless of how hard he comes on to a girl, he seals the deal in a much more romantic, gentle way. To quote Jensen himself, 'That's where he gets you, he comes on fast but ends smooth.' Whereas Sam, while seemingly shy, or at least somewhat more hesitant (this changes as the series progresses), he's a total beast in the sack. He's shown very dominant, which, to me, makes him seem the natural top.
Now, of course, this is totally up to your preferences, but with this in mind, I am more likely to see Sam topping Dean. Not just because of Sam's apparent bedroom nature, but also because Dean seems to be the type to not mind giving the metaphorical reins to his partner. Plus, for the most part, he trusts Sam. Which helps.
I also like to think that they switch, but I feel more like Sam is top more often than not. However, that doesn't necessarily mean he's dominant in the relationship. That's why I like it so much, because they can most definitely have a competition between it, just to spice things up. :3
At any rate, even though I'm totally late, I hope my insight helped at least a little.
