Alot of people who dislike western religions tend who desperately want to believe in something to make themselves feel better will turn to Buddhism or Hinduism or some other goofy spiritual stuff masked in a bunch of vague words and woo woo nonsense.Some Hindu posted some article about a supposed miracle today which I criticized and then got censored and got called intolerant and racist but alot of junk does come out of India like this guy http://www.indianrationalists.blogspot.com/.

that is SO obviously fraudulent...

every living thing on this planet requires food or water, or some type of nourishment to live

him saying that he can live without food or water is like me saying I can breathe without any oxygen...

um . . . yeah. cryogenically freezing yourself through deep meditation? maybe he was just passed out the whole time and didn't remember being fed through an IV? rolleyes

but what you said about eastern religions being filled with a bunch of "woo woo" isnt true; at least not for the original Buddhism anyway. i've studied Buddhism for quite some time now and it's actually one of the most common sense religions out there when you dont get caught up in what Hollywood makes it to be. alot of the big philosophy stuff and yoga techniques are really just additives to it all. it's really just about thinking about yourself and why you do things.

dont wanna start a big religious debate so i'll leave it at that sweatdrop

Eh, a lot of cultures have their own quirks. Some find Christianity sorta goofy. Like testing people to see if they're witches by floating them on water or some other stuff like that.

I think maybe there's a logical explanation why he can go for so long without food and water. If he doesn't move, he won't burn as much energy and conserve his body's water.

But I'm not entirely sure if he can go about 50 years just conserving his energy in a trance-like state.

confused they used to stab girls in the . . . pearl with pins to see if they enjoyed it or not. i'll never forget that. those days sucked.

another quirk is how almost all of Europe suffered the Black Plague when other countries in the Middle East had well enough medical knowledge to prevent it: but Christianity saw sciences from other religious as blasphemy stare

OP is right. People do tend to turn to Eastern religions when they dislike the Western ones. It's like a trend.

dont people turn to Eastern substitutes for everything? lol it's just like cars and technology (if you're one of the people that dont consider cars technology stare )

maybe Westerners just need to learn to be more reliable? lol xd
