- BASIC INFORMATION - An officer is a member of an armed force or in some cases uniformed service who holds a position of authority. Commissioned officers derive authority directly from a sovereign power and, as such, hold a commission charging them with the duties and responsibilities of a specific office or position. Commissioned officers are typically the only persons, in a military environment, able to act as the commanding officer (according to the most technical definition of the word) of a military unit. Non-commissioned officers (NCOs) in positions of authority can be said to have control or charge rather than command per se, although the use of the word "command" to describe any use of authority is widespread and often official. Commissioned officers generally receive training as leadership and management generalists, in addition to training relating to their specific military occupational specialty or function in the military. Most developed nations have set the goal of having their officer corps university-educated, although exceptions exist in some nations to accommodate officers who have risen from the non-commissioned ranks (e.g. the battlefield commission). Many advanced militaries require university degrees as a prerequisite for commissioning, even from the enlisted ranks. Warrant officers
In some branches of many militaries there exists a third grade of officer known as a Warrant Officer. In the militaries of many countries (as in the armed forces of the Commonwealth nations), a Warrant Officer is a very senior non-commissioned officer whose position has been affirmed by warrant from the bureaucracy directing the force - for example, the position of Regimental Sergeant Major in regiments of the British Army is held by a non-commissioned officer appointed by warrant. In the US military, a Warrant Officer is a technically focused, single specialty officer - helicopter pilots and IT specialists of the US Army, for example. They are given salutes and they are addressed as Mr, Ms, Mrs, Sir or Ma'am. There are no Warrant Officers in the U.S. Air Force (the ranks exist, but go permanently and completely unfilled), but each of the other U.S. Armed Forces have Warrant Officers—though each warrant accession program is unique to the individual service's needs. US Warrant Officers are appointed by a warrant issued by the service secretary of their branch of service. Upon being promoted to Chief Warrant Officer, however, Warrant Officers of the US military receive a commission from the President of the United States, and have all the rights and privileges of commissioned officers, although they are paid somewhat less than regular commissioned officers. In the United States military, Warrant and Commissioned Officers are the only officers allowed to command unit

Requirements and Expectations
Officers, of all levels, will be expected to be capable of effectively leading both small and large groups operations, missions, and groups, and be capable of effectively achieving their unit goals with low causality rates and with the up most excellency. Good grammar, spelling, understanding of basic roleplay, understanding of advanced roleplay, and military oriented concepts and roleplay in general are staples for all officers. As well, professionalism, intelligence, and leadership skills will be expected from all officers in general. With the acceptance of being an officer, learning how to lead small and large units effectively, and the specific strategies to be used in certain situations will be taught and tested on a regular basis in conjunction with the basic expected skills. NPC'sOfficer grades basically entail how many units and NPC units are officially under your command. As your rank increases, your unit cap increases exponentially. You can also officially command "Real" soldiers as well, so long as they are in your unit. Obviously, as the unit cap increases exponentially, each subsequent rank is considered more prestigious or harder to get, and is as well offered access to restricted or difficult to obtain information or technology. With a higher unit count, things such as "personal armies" or even entire aircraft carriers or battleship fleets become available, as you are endowed with more possibilities from having self controlled, passive/active NPC's operating the basic facilities necessary in order to operate such a large group. In certain instances, restrictions of the number of units will be imposed, or he use of extra units (armies, not "partners") will be forbidden. This of course requires all officers to responsible for both small and large unit tactics, and each officer will be expected to adapt to the situations their presented. Basic Logistical Expectations -Pass Basic Training -Pass Training for your Branch -Be excepted into a squad -Have preformed in an operation -Be clear of basic rule infractions or have been "forgiven" for previous actions -Have preformed or preform with excellence in all duties -Have basic or correct leadership skills -Present knowledge of military workings -Present knowledge of guild works -Present knowledge of basic military technology -Present excellency within your specific field -Present above par roleplaying abilities -Have excellent grasps over spelling, grammar, and writing in general -Have an excellent grasp in military roleplaying in general, and excellency in your specific field Other Expected/Appreciated Fields-Good people Skills -Ability to organize -Ability to write a page for your specific group -Ability to teach your field -Ability to train extra skills required to your specific group

Shortcut to being a CO In you are new to the guild, or think that you deserve to be an officer, or simply want to skip basic progression and want to fast track to being an officer, a series of requirements will be in order. First, you must pass basic training, pass unit training, and then be excepted into a branch or squad. After this, you may then apply to be an officer. You will be put into a group, whether this is only you or several other people will be directly relevant to your situation, to train and be tested. Things such as basic leader ship skills, basic roleplaying skills, advanced roleplaying skills, and over-all ability to roleplay in coordination with this guild and according to the AMP will be tested. In addition, basic military knowledge, understanding of strategies, leadership skills, responses to situations, and gauges of basic leadership skills and responses to situations. You will also will directly asked to complete a series of questions for a pysch evaluation, this of course which would normally occur over an extended period of time covertly. Personality, motives, overall intelligence, maturity and self control, and mental and emotional stability and responses to questions will be gauged in accordance with actual responses to the questions. Oblique, strange, or otherwise very odd requirements will be imposed as well, to evaluate determination, objective goal achievement abilities, and over-all problem solving abilities. Memory will be tested, although in accordance with the near infinite access to information relevant on the internet, more application will be tested from an individual than wrought memory; this does not mean that in real life however, that you should abstain, avoid, or disregard your ability to remember vital, useful, or even basic information. Memory and conscious, of course, will need to be tested. Following and leadership skills will also be evaluated. As a general synopsis, your testing will mostly occur with you being expected to preform (roleplay) a series of actions and to achieve certain objectives, some random, some planned, and some systematic and repeated, and the direct evaluation of your progress in coordination with passive traits along the way, ways in which the objective is achieved, and how your over-all mental, emotional, and psychological states are along the way. Along with this will be several seemingly unrelated covert methods of testing and guaging; such as in criminal tests when determining ***** by not gauging what pictures they say they like, but how long they spend looking at each picture, and monitoring eye movements. Rather than simply accepting answers, you will be subjected to several less obvious or subconscious reactions, to determine over-all ability rather than direct responses. In coordination with this, becuase this is a heavily infantry based guild, you will also be expected to thoroughly understand infantry information; and being an officer, large unit handling, specifically infantry movements, will be vital to to your ability to lead in general. Infantry are heavily exploited in this guild due to the ability to respond, maneuverability, and over-all ability to preform actions in which modern technology has not currently formed applications to do so. A way to think about it is, when fighting people, using people to fight people is usually the best option to go; just people with more protection, intelligence, strength, speed, and firepower. Due to people in general leading the group and being responsible for all the actions presented, learning how to deal with groups of people, and so in this case infantry being primarily people based military groups, will be vital and required of all officers.
