"Living things." Seamus grinned. That was probably what he liked most about his powers. "I can't do a lot right now, and it gets me pretty damn tired when I do, but I can heal small things. Bigger things would probably knock me out for a day or so. Haven't tried yet."

Maybe he'd convince Murphy to break his leg, to see.

"I've just been doing basic stuff. Cuts, bruises. Found out when I cook with herbs and spices it tends to do a person good, too. My little sister had the flu, but she cropped up right as rain after I made her some Seamus-magic chicken noodle soup."

His goddess had told him that, at least. Seamus wasn't a cooking wizard, but she said his hands had that special touch.

"I probably couldn't do much for a person who's terribly injured, though. Not yet."

Marcus listened pensively. It sounded like this guy could help him, but he wasn't sure. He sure didn't need soup, in any case. And this wasn't a cut or bruise. But Marcus was sure as hell not going to start booking doctors appointments and have them check him out. It had to be a godling, he supposed. Or a relative of a godling, at the worst.

"I've had a toothache for three weeks now. I can't see an actual dentist. They'd probably start wanting to take out the ivory, and I'm not sure how much the voice would like that. Think you could handle it?"

He blinked.

"A toothache?"

He thought, eyebrows rising and a contemplative furrow creasing the space between.

"I could try," he finally decided. "Never done it before, but it won't hurt if it doesn't work, at any rate. Which tooth?"

He hoped it was one of the tusk-y ones. Seamus had to get his hands pretty close to that which he was healing, and they weren't good enough friends yet for the back molar work, he knew. Otherwise the public might get the wrong idea, watching a guy cup the face of another guy.

He decided never to mention this particular fact to Quinn. It was for the best.

He started to point with an invisible hand, before Marcus switched to the a proper hand. "Here," he said, indenting his cheek with a finger. Marcus hated how much it sank in. Maybe if he won the game, Ganesh would remove a little bit of the blubber.

From what Marcus remembered from school, he was pretty sure the tooth in question was called a pre-molar. "I'm not even sure what happened. I just woke up one morning, and bam."

"Well, I don't do diagnosing, so I couldn't tell you. I just let it do its magic," he admitted, hand hovering closely over where Marcus had pointed to. "Plus, I figure, teeth hurt for no damn reason most of the time anyway. Used to be I couldn't even drink ice water without my teeth complaining."

All the while Seamus was chattering, his powers were clicking on. The air pressure between hand and skin turned warm, warmer, and then dropped to a pleasant chill as a calm blue glow spread outwards from his palm. By that time his eyebrows were drawn in concentration, focused on knitting and repairing and healing anything to do with the painful tooth, though it was all on a less-than-conscious level.

"How's that feelin'? Better?"

Marcus felt the spread of magic extend over his jaw and go through its thermic motions. After it was all said and done, he tested it, rocking his jaw from side to side. It did seem better, though Marcus couldn't exactly say how. None of the lancing pain was there anymore, anyway.

Marcus sighed. "I guess that did the trick. You're not bad." Marcus looked over at the man. "So I guess I owe you one. And I don't like leaving debts unpaid. What'll it be? There are a lot of options."

"Coffee," Seamus suggested with immediacy, hands withdrawing back to his side of the table and trying to shake off the weariness that wanted to settle into his bones. "With one of those little chocolate-dipped cookie-sticks, so I can feel sophisticated."

After his long shift as a waiter, and then using his powers, Seamus was about ready for a pick-me-up.

"I'll consider us even then, yeah?"

Marcus was just a little surprised. With all of the access to information he had from his own powers, he would have expected that the other man take something more than a bleeding coffee. But if it was the thing he wanted, so be it. "Sure, then. Coffee it is. Though it sounds like you know your drinks better than I do. Did you have a place in mind, or is this place fine? I tend to take mine black."

Seamus shrugged. "Here's fine," he assured. "I'm not picky. Just want coffee." He paused. "With sugar."

Just a few spoonfuls would be fine. And milk. Whole. Tablespoon of that.

Seamus may've been Irish, but he didn't drink like one.

"I'll probably get it to go," he added, tipping his non-existent hat. "Busy man, busy man."
