Tempy wandered slowly around the clearing, she hadn't been here before and she wanted to see and try everything there was. The first thing that Tempy came across was an apple laying in the grass. Tempy batted at it with her paw, wondering what might happen. As her paw contacted the apple is moved around strangely. Tempy peered closer to the apple, squinting at it and poking it with the tip of her paw.

"Hm?" Ausija's head tilted slightly and his deep, blue eyes stared off in the distance at the puppy that seemed to be poking at something. Curious as to what she had discovered, he got on all fours and prodded across the grass til he was creeping up behind her. He stretched his neck, peering around her to spot the odd apple. Seeing that she had yet to notice him, Ausija wagged his tails mischievously. Suddenly, the young pup pounced beside her and let out a loud bark in attempt to scare her. A playful grin was plastered against his excited expression, and he casually took a seat on the ground, looking over her then glancing at the apple once more. "What's so interesting about an apple?" He questioned with a light bark, leaning his head to the side, causing his earrings to jingle softly, with a thoughtful gleam in his eyes.

Tempy let out a yelp of surprise when all of the sudden another pup appeared out of nowhere beside her. She stared around wildly for a moment before realizing he was just playing around."You scared me!" she whined softly before she remembered he had asked a question. "Oh, the apple, well i hit it and it moved kinda funny, not like other apples. It was strange, and i'm not sure why it did that. Do you know?" Tempy asked curiously. Mimicking the other puppy almost perfect, she tilted her head to the side and stared at the at trying her best to extract her secret. She sat in silence for a moment before remembering her manners. "Oh! I completely forgot, what's your name?" she said this with a hopeful smile, wishing that she might have found a new friend to play with.

Ausija laughed out in a light tone, rolling his eyes some in a "of course I scared you" look. When she explained why she had been staring and poking at the apple, Ausija turned his attention to it immediately. He leaned down and sniffed at it, only to frown in confusion. It certainly seemed like a normal apple, and smelled like a normal apple. The little pup snapped out of his thoughtful daze and perked up, looking over at this new...acquaintance he had made. "My name is Ausija. What's yours?" His tails wagged and he waited happily, it had been a while since he last came across an "unsolved mystery", and a fellow adventurer to help find some answers. Suddenly, Ausija hopped up to his feet and gave the strange apple a daring glare. "We should crack it open, maybe there's something inside it..." He paused, quickly glancing around them. The area was similar to a meadow or field of some sort, so there weren't many trees very close by, but the apple had to come from somewhere, didn't it? With a single bark, he gestured for her to bring the apple, then raced off in direction of a patch of quaint trees nearby. Once they reached them, he was happy to see more apples dangling above, appearing similar to the one they had come across. He stood up on his hind legs and rested his front paws against the tree trunk, staring up with bright eyes. "The apples would go perfect with some tea, you know...after we figure out what's wrong with that one, we should try and get some of these down too." He hopped back down with a huff, wagging his tail eagerly. He could tell today was going to be absent of a single dull moment, which was perfectly exciting~!

Seeing the excitement in the other pup about having a mystery to solve, Tempy forgot all about the little scare incident. "My name's Tempest, but you can call me Tempy." she said, her tails swaying slowly, not used to wagging quite yet. She was ready for adventure. With the lead of Ausija, Tempy grabbed the apple in her teeth, making sure to grab it by the stem. Just in case whatever made it strange decided to pop out at her. "Ah wud wuv shum tea!" Tempy mumbled through the apple stem in her teeth, it inhibited her speech so much she dropped it on the grass as soon as she got to the grove of trees. "How do you propose we open it?" Tempy glanced at the apple and the tree a few times before finally settling her gaze on Ausija. She tilted her head ever so slightly and opened her eyes just a bit wider, taking in every detail of her new friend's appearance. She was almost too excited to contain it, this was the first friend she'd ever made~

"That's a good question..." Ausija murmured out, scrunching up his nose as he eyed the apple. He huffed out a long breath before looking around them, noticing a rock laying among the grass right beside them. Glancing at the fruit once more, Ausija then raised his eyes to meet with Tempy's excitedly. "Let's try hitting it against that rock, maybe it will crack open. And if that doesn't work..." He paused and stretched, pushing his paws out in front of him. Finally, he stood back up again and shook his body, his bangles and earrings softly clanking together. "Well, I suppose we can just try....biting it." Ausija tilted his head, unsure if that would really be such a good idea. He was tempted, but he worried something dangerous might happen. Facing Tempty, Ausija stared at her blankly. "What do you think? I wonder if it'll taste any good..." he picked up the apple by the stem and carried it over to the medium-sized rock, then dropped it on the ground again. "There's only one way to find out..."

Tempy follwed Ausija's gaze as he found the rock, "That sounds like a good idea." She said excitedly. Although Tempy didn't like the idea of having to bite the apple, she wasn't exactly sure what else they could try. "I don't know... It could taste really bad" she said with a frown. She watched as Ausija carried the apple over to the rock and dropped it in the grass. Tempy then bounded over and delicately picked up the apple. She reared as high as she could on her hind legs above the rock and dropped the apple over it.
thud.
The apple hit rock, with a less than spectacular thud. "Hmm." Tempy laid down in the grass for a moment. She had a small itch on her back, so she decided to roll over and wiggle it off in the grass. When she turned on her back, looking at the apple and the rock, Tempy had an idea. She sprang up and started talking hurriedly "What if instead of dropping the apple on the rock, we drop the rock on the apple? What do you think?" Tempy's tails were wagging at the idea she had just come up with, the adventure was not yet over.

It was disappointing to find that dropping the apple over the rock wouldn't be enough to solve the mystery, but Ausija only frowned thoughtfully. They could solve this! Two heads are better than one, and he'd like to think they'd be capable of figuring out something as simple as an apple. He looked at Tempy, surprised when she suddenly started talking in a sort of rushed manner. "Oh, that is a good idea! But..." Ausija looked at the rock, which was pretty daunting for a puppy to consider trying to carrying in his mouth, "How do think we should lift the rock up?" He questioned as he pranced around the heavy-looking mass, then stopped on one side and lowered his head down closer to it. "You could take one side, and I could take the other, perhaps. I still think it will be difficult, but I guess that's what makes this an adventure, huh?" Ausija let out an excited howl and then fumbled around, trying to dig the rock up some from the ground. Just enough so that he could bite onto it and help Tempy carry it over the apple. Once he got his teeth around it, he murmured out instructions. "Okay, mow you gets that swide, den we will drop it on the apple." Some of his words came out distorted and muffled, but he was fairly sure he got the point across regardless. As he struggled to keep his grip on the rock while lifting his side, the pup growled softly at it as a challenge. He could take this rock on anytime!

Tempy listened carefully as Ausija voiced his concerns and his ideas. He was right, the rock would be difficult to lift because it was fairly large, but she believed that together they could lift the rock and smash the apple. Tempy trotted over to the side of the rock opposite Ausija and dug her own hole next to the rock until she could get a good grip on it. She settled her teeth around a particular piece of the rock, jutting out just enough. "One... Two.. Wait! We should probably put the apple right next to the rock so we don't have to carry it far." Tempy let go of her hold on the rock and snatched the apple up to put it next to the rock. Once it was in place, she moved back to her position at the rock, took hold and began her count again. "One... Two... Three!" she grunted through her teeth. On three, the rock slowly began to rise.

Ausija grunted in response, waiting for Tempy to go ahead and move the apple closer. He was relieved when she returned and helped to lift the rock, cause quite frankly, his mouth was becoming sore. He pushed his weight off the ground, carrying the rock until it was hovering just above the apple. It was difficult to see Tempy over the rock, but they kept good pace either way. Ausija managed to murmur out a countdown between his clenched teeth, so that they could release the heavy stone at once. "On three! One...two..three!" The pup jumped back, anticipating quite a dramatic reaction from the rock crushing the apple. First, his eyes searched for Tempy to be sure she was alright, and once he saw that she was, he began to wag his tails. His mouth was hanging open while he flexed his tongue and stretched his mouth in different ways, trying to rid it of the taste and feel of biting the rock. It hadn't necessarily been a pleasant experience... "Well, time to look..." He all but whispered out, peering at the rock cautiously. What if underneath it, with the apple crushed, was revealed to them...a hideous pup-eating monster?! Ausija took one step, then another, closing the gap between himself and the mystery apple. First he leaned his face closer and sniffed, weary about getting too close. Before he knew it, he was standing right onside of the rock, with Tempy just on the other side. Looking up at her with wide eyes, he beckoned his head slowly. "Well, go on, move the rock..." He instructed, setting one of his paws against the stone and giving it only a little push. Of course, that wasn't enough to move the stone one bit, but he wasn't stupid! He wasn't going to move it on his own and be swallowed up by the puppy-hungry beast! "Are you ready...? Let's....solve this mystery!" He called out before giving the rock a nice, big shove, along with Tempy.
