Somehow, Vashtya had the distinct impression that he'd been swindled. I mean, here he was in a town he didn't know, in a particularly...seedy looking area, and he'd run across some guy selling lanterns, of all things.
And regardless of the fact that the seller had gone on and on about how special is lantern was, he probably should've just kept walking. However, something about the small, teal lantern had called to him, and he'd found himself paying far more than he ought've.
Ah well, Rasik would probably like it as a night-light.
((gawd, sorry it took me so long to end my journals postvirginity. crying heart . *shall try to be bettar~* heart ))

Head resting on his hands, Rasik stared at the new "night-lught" Vash had brought home. It teal, and the light from within never went out, although the small, dark unicorn tale had not seen Vash add any new oil, or replace a candle, or even plug it in, and the half-elf had been home for hours.
Sighing, Vash changed into his nightclothes, giving Rasik a gentle push so that he could claim his own side of the bed. As he heard the small child behind him slowly drift off, he continued staring at the lantern. There was something downright mesmerizing about it, although he'd yet to figure out what it was. And much as I'm reluctant to leave it lit overnight, something makes me feel that blowing it out would be a bad idea...
Shaking his head, Vash yawned--it had been a long day, and Rasik and the nieken always woke up early. His last coherent thought was the impression of the lanturn glowing more dimly, as if complying with his desire for sleep.
