i am going to start this thread because i think this is a whole subject to itself.
like i see we have an event forum (neat) and i was curious about it.
i was wondering about contest and prize games. i would like to set up one of them. i have and idea about rules for that thing.

I think having a subforum for contests and the like would be awesome - especially when we are set to have our first contest... And hey, while we are at it, we could talk about that! What kind of contest shall we have? what shall be the rules and the prize?

As for the subforum for events - I think that is mostly focusing on Gaian based events at this point. I believe the next one would be the Gaian prom, if they are planning to have one this year. Has anyone heard anything? I should think we would be hearing something soon. I mean, it is that time of year. After that, Idk, I cant remember, but wasnt it like summer camp and then ummmm gaia ball or something?

Anyway, once we get big enough to have our own events, that would be cool, but for now I think it needs to be mostly gaian based stuff.

What does everyone else think?

Btw Tigs, thanks for making this thread! We need a place to discuss this stuff.

well i keep think about sub forums. uh my OCD for organizing seems to be rearing its head.
okay one thought for a sub forum. chatter for shows movies games all the RL entertainment stuff. if not people can just chatter in the main.
well raffles are always popular.
i was thinking of having my own contest twisted
tektek ned!
then do a vote in the thread and winner could get a letter. i like those for prizes personally.
also if someone wants to run a contest i think the have to give captain aquarium the prize up front. this way we do not have to deal with dishonesty. i think if for some reason they can not do the full amount we could try to work something out. i just do not want someone running off with the winnings or something.
also should we have a sub forum for rl news and gaia news? i am torn on this because it might not have interest for others. or drama....
but it would be cool to hear what is going on in the world but news seems just depressing.
i have heard nothing about gaia prom. gaia kind of sucks at keeping us informed.

what about a sub forum for questions and discussions. i love to ask questions and stuff is always floating around my head. not like a Q&A but just talking about stuff. i little more intellectual than a chatterbox. is this making any sense?

Makes full sense to me and that would be really interesting.

Regarding the contests, I've set up mine i the event forum and I am ready to go... minus the prizes, which I still haven't decided on since I'm not all that sure on what prize range I should move in for our first event. However, it should be (at least in my contests) fairly relevant to the contest itself...

I was thinking a dress/costume item for the colouring contest (I even got a lineart up for the purpose of colouring), free art in the tektek contest (or a sum of money, the winner decides) and something else probablyaletter in the bump contest.

As for dates... If gaia doesn't give us a ball by July 4th I'll declare it a 4th of July themed ball and opens the event anyway. As I remember it, there's a ball/prom/dressy event in the beginning of summer and a summer event in the end. Could be wrong though...

Tigs - Love the intellectual subforum!!! Maybe call it Intellectual Soup or whatever - I do love the idea! Very interesting.

Yeah, I am beginning to lose hope for a gaia prom. NBD, really - I couldnt do the dance crap they had going last year anyway, so I bought all the prizes. LOL Yes, I am that bad!

Yeah, I think the ball was around july 4th or somewhere there abouts last year. summer camp was in like august or something...

Aryllia, I just checked the event sub forum and I have to say - OMG you are soooooooooooooo organized! I love it! It is very cool and I cant wait til our first event as a guild!

ugh i hated prom too! i could not dance either! it was the stupidest event! i did not bother with camp.
this is why i like the idea of guild events. they will be more fun, hopefully!
gaia events have gone down. also with a guild one we can actually socialize instead of just trying to get the stuff.
