It has final happen! For the ones who don't know many of fans prayers has been answered and The Backstreet Boys are no longer with Jive/Zomba *does happy dance* Yes the guys have had some happy times with Jive/Zomba but ever since the comeback from their hiatus Jive just couldn't get it right. How do you personally feel about the leave from Jive? Which record label do you think should pick them up or go for next?

I was actually about to come on and pont this!!Quote: So the news is out! The Backstreet Boys are no longer signed to long time record label Jive Records. The amicable split is very exciting for the group. "This is the best thing, at the best time that could have ever happened for us”, says Brian Littrell. “We are confident in the future of our band, and are looking forward to the new things to come. 2011 is going to be a great year for us!” KTBSPA I'm so happy for our boys. They've been wanting to take control of their music for awhile now. Now they can do that, and hopefully start getting better promoted and maybe bring things like the new DVD out here!!! >.< And just in time when they were taking about going to work on a new album.

This is good news. Jive has just been terrible to our boys and it's about time that they move onto bigger and better things. I'm not sure which record label they should move to, but perhaps they should start their own. That way they have way more control of their musical destiny to rule the world! Muahahahaha! Okay, I got a little carried away.

LOL, BlueLuva, we still love you! Everyone is a little crazy when they hear good news. (tehehe) But my concern is who is going to sign them now? I'm thinking maybe Universal? What are your thoughts people?

They've been in the music industry for so long that I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to start their own label or something. Hell, they could probably release a cassette tape and the fans would try to find a player to listen to it haha.

If they end up releasing their stuff on cassette tapes I would actually go out and find a player just to listen to them. Them having their own label, I could see that to happening but then I don't really see that happening. (If you know what I mean) At the end they might get bought out like most of the "artist owned labels" And what would the call their label 'Backstreet Records' OMG if they do end up calling it that, then I want the rights to the name! heart

Well, I'll say this, whoever signs them to their label is a genius! The Backstreet Boys have some dedicated fans so they'll always be selling records. And I think I have Backstreet's Back on cassette. razz

Actually, my very first Backstreet Boys album was on cassette. I still have it laying around the house somewhere. I don't have the case anymore. But I occassionally whip it out and listen to it for the heck of it. I have a radio that has not only cassette and cd, but it also has a record player on it. I can listen to anything! MWAHAHAHAHA! *coughs* sorry! Anyway, if I ever manage to find the cassette again, I'll post a pic!

Yeah back in the day I was (and still am) all about the CDs. I think I was the tech savy person in my area back then. Going back to the record label. Who second my motion for them to go to Universal, it seems like a pretty 'alright' record label. I'm not a big fan of Virgin, many well known artist seem not to like it there as much.

I think they should start their own. But I think Universal would be ok. So would Sony or Arista (if they still exist). I laways liked their music. Besides, Simon Cowell helps wih Sony, and he at least knows what he's doing.
