Dr. Facilier frowned, dropping his paw. "Why the sudden change in price? Truly dear, you are already getting the upper hand in this. I think trying for another test subject is simply greedy of you. Plus, I see no 'high demand' here child. No one is clamoring to be your personal guinea pig." As he spoke, Dr. Facilier's shadow lurked itself behind the girl, snatching one of her vials. "So here's the deal: You get to make me a potion. If it works, and only if it works, you get to use Squib as a guinea pig. And.... you get this back." He held up the vial with a smirk. "My dear, I have friends on the other side.... I highly suggest you not push your luck with this."

Did he really think he could do that? She wanted to fume. "You can't just take my vials away. I sort of need those to make your special little potions," she answered, glaring. Friends on the other side? Whatever. If he was going to pull BS like this on her, she was definitely not going to do this little favor for him. In the long run, he had the better deal. Her eyes stayed on her vial, examining the color of the liquid. It was only of the moderately rare sort of liquids to make or obtain. Sure, she could replace the vial and its contents, though it'd make a small hole in her pocket. She clenched her paw into a fist before slowly releasing it, deciding to not let her emotions get the best of her. If he wanted to play a bit dirty like this, that's fine. Maybe she wouldn't at first, but she sure would remember this in the back of her mind for a long time.

Dr. Facilier sighed. "Well dear, you can see how I felt about this then... you trying to get the upper hand on me. Not good business. So, how about we go back to our original deal and pretend none of this ever happened, cherie'." He handed the vial back to her. He didn't want to push this female too hard, because he was starting to like her spunk. At the same time, he was not about to get walked on or taken advantage of.

Clayre sighed. "Okay. Whatever, probably for the best," she replied, taking the vial back with eagerness. Tucking it back in her arm, she nodded with slight satisfaction. Now that that was out of the way... "So... I don't believe we properly introduced ourselves, or at all. I'm Clayre Engins, proud daughter of that amazing and totally awesome Jouko and Brice!" she exclaimed, stressed on the italicized words 'amazing' and 'totally awesome'. The femme grinned cockily and extended her paw for a handshake. "I do know Squib's name, but I don't believe I ever caught yours..."

Dr. Facilier smiled and whipped his hat off, bowing with much fanfare. "I'm the humble Dr. Facilier, voodoo doctor from New Orleans. Many people refer to me as the Shadow Man, because of my shadows." He indicated the shadow which lurked behind him, as well as the one that Squib was once again pawing playfully. Squib snorted, getting suddenly whacked in the head by the shadow, which was apparently fed up with being used as a pig toy.

"Though I don't believe you're humble.... Well, whatever, lovely meeting you, Shadow Man," she replied, her tone sweet. She thought about curtsying, but decided against it. She wasn't some girly girl; she didn't do things like that. Clayre observed Squib's shadow. "Oh, do only your shadows do that..? Or can you make others..?" she questioned out of curiosity, glancing behind her to make sure her shadow was mirroring her movements.

Dr. Facilier laughed. "Only the shadows that I control do this. And really, sometimes I think my own shadow has a mind all its own. Anyway, what would I possibly glean from controlling another noodle's shadow? No dear, you have nothing to worry about there." As he spoke, his shadow stood up straight, then did a few flips, as if to show off.

Clayre shrugged. "...Alright, if you say so," she replied, though remaining still at unease. He was charismatic and charming; a lie could easily slip in and she might not even recognize or notice. She smiled at the shadow's flips and laughed. "Oh, isn't that cute," the femme remarked, her tone full of warmth and cheerfulness. She brushed her bangs to the side. "So, when am I expected to finish this concoction for you, Dr. Facilier?"

Dr. Facilier shrugged. "As soon as you can. Life is short, my dear. I make it a point not to waste one minute of it, and as soon as I am able to conjure things for myself...." He paused for a moment, thinking of how easy it would be to pay off his debt to the spirit world once the potion was done. "Time is of the essence for me my dear. You see, I have a few scores to settle once this potion is complete."

Clayre shrugged. "Ehh, if you say so. If you're in such a hurry, then I suppose I'll go back home and start working on it right now," she replied, frowning. Her eyes looked to the side, attempting to calculate a time approximation in which she'd be done. She would have to experiment around with it; she never made a potion for such uses, and especially never made one that would have long term/everlasting effects. "I'll probably be finished with it in a day or so. Give or take. Shall I meet you here, whenever it is finished? Or...?" She looked back up, gazing into his eyes.

Dr. Facilier frowned, staring into her eyes for just a moment before shaking his head as if to break the trance he found himself in. "Here is fine." He said with a flourish of his paw. He bowed to her, his sly smile returning to his face. "I am here most days, unless an emergency comes up and I am needed elsewhere. And thank you my dear."
