It's exhausting being friends with two completely different groups of friends.
Not only that, but I feel like while I've gotten to know more people and gained more "friends," I don't really have any best friends anymore.
There's no one who I regularly hang out with at school, there's no one who I'd want to call if something good happened. I'm on good terms with everyone, but I'm not close to anyone.
It's... kind of lonely.

Are you friends with people that don't like the other group?
I was in your situation in middle school, I know how you feel. But on the bright side you've always got me.

@ 3mo, [sigh] Yeah. It's just like that. It's not that the two groups don't like each other - they just don't get along. It's super awkward when they come together.
@ 3mo and Roland, Lulz, as long as I have both of you, it's a great thing ^^

When Darkness comes...Well, Ivy, there are going to be friends you have that are not going to get along, just happens. One thing to remember- it is not your job to make the peace. You just keep being Ivy, and don't worry about how other people are getting along too much.
And glad to hear that's a great thing. ^^ *hug* ...I'll Light The Night With Stars!

I know that, but the problem isn't that I'm trying to make everyone buddies - the problem is that I'm caught between the two groups. So even though I know the two groups, it's like I'm not really a part of either, because I'm too distant from both.

So what's stopping you from getting to know one group more?

Because then the other group gets upset/distances themselves that I'm hanging out more with other people.

No offense but your friends sound kinda needy.
I think they need to suck it up because it really doesn't matter who you hang out with because they don't have to hang out with them do they?

Well, one group is at least.
Yeah, I guess it'll eventually sort itself out.
