This Roleplay is based on one developed in another guild that I am a part of. xX_DangerMagnet_Xx, Nomoro, and I all contributed to this roleplay. I'm reworking it a little bit though. (And I'm stealing most of Danger's profile skeleton...I like it!)
The eclipse is when most people assume that the New Plague started. Just after then was when the very first reports of it began to come in. The New Plague, also called Sleep Fever, is a strange illness where one goes to sleep and then does not wake up. Scientists have been trying to work for nearly two years to find out what happens to these victims of the Sleep Fever.
They lie asleep for countless day, weeks, months as their families slowly lose hope. Teenagers tend to be the most common victims, but younger and older people have fallen ill. All that anyone really knows it that the sickness stays, and the people, well the people usually die within the first month. After they survive thirty days, their odds of surviving greatly increase. Scientists and doctors have no clue what happens on the thirtieth day, but their patients are less likely to die after that.
The victims themselves awake barely aware of their new world. Newer residents bring information to those who are already trapped, but that is the only joyous thing about finding someone stranded in the harsh world that is now called Feverland.
Feverland is the harsh world in which all the victims of the illness are dumped. They awaken on the ground in the desert part of the world with the sun, always fixed in the sky as if it had set not long ago, blazing the western sky a burned orange color. It is just dark enough to be dangerous, particularly out in the open. A coupe of days walk and the person comes to the edge of the forest, where most of the people reside.
There are natural inhabitants to Feverland. They've come to be called Nightmares by the people. They are giant bug-like creatures that roam Feverland to kill the humans that land there. If after thirty days, the human is still alive, they gain gifts that help keep them alive. Feverland is part of a dream world, so after thirty day, the people can tap into the dream, and harness power from it.
