Gabrielle: *is still a momma's girl even if she hasn't seen Liriel in many months, as is evident by her latest rp in RoT. Meeting the queen and defending her mother like that, in spite of all evidence that she should have abandoned her long ago . . . It was almost gutsy*
Kerai: *suddenly scoots up next to Gabrielle an sits there with a dumb smile on his face* :p
Gabrielle: *surprised, she lifts her head when she feels someone brush against her and gives a little smile to Kerai* Oh. H-Hello there, my dove.I have not seen you for a while.
Kerai: *His grin widened a tad while his tail thumped* Yeah. Have you been training? Doing tasks for the pack?
Gabrielle: *nods* Yes . . . Damon took me under his wing to be a spy and guardian like he is. *Or the description was close enough anyway; it seemed to be a flexible position, tending to either or as necessary* And I think I have a shot at being a Lady if I work hard enough. *She tries not to think of the current conversation going on with her mother, whereupon Liriel doubted and questioned her daughter’s worth and strength* How about you? You are not being too abused, are you?
Kerai: Really, well, I'm sure you'll get the spot no problem. *His grin faded a tad as she shifted over to asking about how he was doing, but the smile didn't completely vanish* Ah, well, things are about the same.
Gabrielle: "About the same"? *turns fully to look at him, frowning slightly* Clooney isn't abusing you, is he? Or Lord Hades? Or the other pups? *The pups she could forgive to an extent, and Hades as well, but Clooney . . . Despite having found Kerai at the same time as she did, Gabby wasn’t a fan of the lord.*
Kerai: *His eyes widened slightly while his ears pulled back, shaking his head* No, Hades hasn't touched me nor has any other wolf. Clooney is his usual self, but that's to be expected I guess. He hasn't bitten me in a while so I guess that's a plus.
Gabrielle: Good. *gently pushes her nose into his neck, breathing in his scent and finding comfort in it* Because I still say you should leave as soon as the opportunity presents itself. You shouldn't be here.
Kerai: Hmm...maybe you're right. But I dunno...where would I go anyway that wouldn't put me right back here? Clooney has lost one slave, I don't think he'll stand for loosing another. Besides, you seem lonely here. I think you can take care of yourself now, but sometimes you look like you want someone around. Maybe I'm imagining that.
Cassius: *limps over and shakes off frowning at how close his sister was to one of the slaves, what was she doing?*
Gabrielle: *mini scowl* What do you care what Clooney thinks? He doesn't spare any thoughts on you, I bet. And as for me, well . . . *she pondered her answer, but before anything could come out she spotted Cassius coming over, and for a moment looked quite afraid at his frown. Thinking quickly (God, how could she let herself be caught?!), she nudges Kerai roughly away with a snort* Right, was that some sort of come on, you? Really, really pitiful that you think you could take advantage of me, slave! I should tell on you, I should; Mother says I have too much sympathy in me and she's right I think.
Kerai: *The young wolf smiled at her words of encouragement, but was unsure if he could say anything in return. He had no time to reply to her anyway as another wolf entered the scene, this one an obvious relative of the female beside him. At first glance he immediately pulled his ears back, but they swiveled forward again when Gabrielle rounded on him.* Wha- *he started, not understanding where she was coming from and it took him a second before it dawned on him.* Oh. Oh!. I-I'm sorry, please, please forgive me. I was in the wrong *He answered, playing along, putting on a submissive posture and tucked his tail between his legs*
Cassius: *snarls furiously at the slave lunging at him* Are you trying to TOUCH my sister? I could kill you just for thinking it! *growls*
Gabrielle: *Shoot! She should've known Cassiu's aggressive nature would lead to a fight first, questions later. As casually as she can, she tries to stop him by placing herself in front* Hey, don't bother with it, Cas! It's not as if he'll fight back. *Which sounded like the truth from how she knew Kerai to be. Thank God he was playing along!* You won't get any sport out of it, trust me.
Kerai: *Gabrielle was correct in assuming he wouldn't fight back and as the other male lunged at him, he rolled over, trembling as his eyes closed tight in anticipation of pain* Sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry! *He whimpered*
Cassius: *he snarls viciously and steps forward his back paw moving to put pressure between the other males legs and lower belly* Try and touch my sister again, and I'll end you...*leaps away from the slave and shakes off disgusted before moving over and curling near Gabrielle* You tell me if he even looks at you funny again...
Gabrielle: *nuzzles him affectionately* Oh, I can take care of myself, you know . . . *Agh, poor Kerai's cries hit her heart even when she knew he was acting. But she gives Cassius a little grin* You are so overprotective, Cassius~ Unlike our preening brother Baal. >> You should probably go check on him for me, I can handle the slave on my own. Better I give him my own punishment than let someone do it for me, and God forbid Baal’s hair gets wet in the river.
Kerai: *He continued to stay low, eye sealed shut even as Cassius pulled away from him, though a whimper echoed through his throat as he applied pressure before giving away, leaving the slave on the ground and still. He didn't even dare peek to see what Gabrielle was doing, opting to wait till she reacted and gave him the coast's clear.*
Gabrielle: *She waits for several seconds even after she couldn't see Cassius anymore, looking about for signs of more eavesdroppers, scenting no-one and not hearing so much as a breath. She then relaxes and gently prods Kerai’s side with a paw.* Too close! *Far too close* It's good that you thought quickly on your paws to keep up, Kerai, thank you. I can't stay long, lest someone else comes by to disturb us. *looks at him intently with those golden, hawk-like eyes* If I can become a Lady here, there's a chance that I could make you my servant. What I need to know is if Clooney really does own you. *If so, she'd have to find a suitable trade . . . She might have denounced him with Liriel, but dangit if there was a way to both keep her friend safe and be allowed to meet with him without suspicious eyes, she'd take it!*
Kerai: *To be honest, he didn't so much think quick on his paws, having behaved more or less how he would have if he was attacked for any other reason. And Gabrielle didn't have to thank him. His ears were still pulled back as he swiveled up onto his belly, laying now with his forepaws stretched out and his tail wrapped around his hip. There was a spark in his eye at the prospect.* Ah, well, I don't know if you can call it "owning", but I don't think he'd take me being gone without there being someone else to replace me. I'm kinda a replacement for the slave he lost, anyway.
Gabrielle: *She nods a little, figuring as much; mutters* Too obsessed with Selene for his own good . . . *She didn't see the hypocrisy in this: what Clooney had with Selene was far more different and far more perverted than what she had with Kerai (in more ways than one, she imagined too). This was true and honest friendship, not simply wolves of different ranks. And would a friend not do anything to help the other? She returned to speaking normally* Lord Hades won't take possession of the male slave he brought with him, and he does act an awful lot like you. He's also very willing to do whatever is asked of him; I'm sure this would please Clooney enough to part with you.
Kerai: Oh? *He perked up a bit, having not met this other slave* Maybe that could work. Maybe. *His tail wagged slowly*
Gabrielle: *It has to, she thought. For your sake and for mine.* Of course it will. Since that new slave . . . Var something, since he has no owner, I simply have to find Clooney and ask for a trade. Hold your breath and cross your toes. *trots off to go find him*
Kerai: *The wolf pulled up onto his haunches, brows upturned as Gabrielle ran off to find Clooney* >: *He hoped what she was thinking of would work*
