Hey, everyone.
I just got cast as Dot in my school's prodution of HONK!
. . I didn't even put her down as an option, but my director said she wanted to see me read as that role; So I did. And I got it.
Is that a good part?
Any advice?

I loved the play, it's a lot of fun. Just play it up as much as you can. The point of the show is to be a bit over-the-top 3nodding

Play the character how you want to or talk to your director and get some advice about what they are looking for with the character. Ask the director what they liked about how you read the part. Hope the show goes well.

Dot! That's such a fun part! According to the British HONK! homepage, you are "the understanding wife of Admiral Greylag Goose." There's a big scene where Ugly comes through and you teach him how to fly with your goslings.
I would describe her as almost stage mom-ish, Dot. As long as you make her really over-the-top, you'll do splendidly. Break a leg!

An update for everyone: Well, we've had a few rehearsals now. And I got my libretto. I LOVE Dot. Especially the flight attendant monologue in the middle of "Wild Goose Chase"! This is going to be such a fun part to play! Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and advice!

I was in that play w/ my local theatre group. I was just chorus but it's a great show. just try to have fun.

i seen that show for a charity thing. it is a childrens show so just pretend your a cartoon charictor. i mean have fun and be off the walls kids will beleave anything and that is who it is for
