He was lucky enough to get himself a day off from his studies, less because Crevan had wanted to allow it and more because he was rescued by the one family friend tat they had. Yukito seemed to be one of few people that was was able to order Crevan around though how he did it was beyond Ashton's understanding. He was happy though, he was free of his father's pinning gaze and all the orders he got to study and make something of himself. Teenagers needed time to themselves Yukito had told Crevan before taking hold of the man's hand, holding it in his, while Ashton headed off to play.
He headed to his favorite place which was a nearby greenhouse, it wasn't as nice as the one that Yukito ran but if he were here that meant it was one of the few days the man took off from his job. He was very studious, a harder worker, a healer, and just all over sweet. He wondered if it were the fact that despite his gentleness and his soft look that it was because he was a hard worker that made Crevan listen to him.
Now he was walking down the aisles with his notebook that had all his plans in it that listed what he wanted to do next with their backyard. He gave a smile as he paused to look over a few sorts of climbing plants that would nice on the trellis that he had built, "These will look nice." He murmured, reaching out to brush his fingers over the leaves with the fingers of his mushroom covered arm. He checked the prices, nodded, and took down a couple notes down on the paper before moving on. He had only so much money so he wanted to make sure that he knew what he wanted before deciding upon anything for certain.

A tall boy with antlers entered the establishment at that point. He was a friendly looking teen with a vest and glasses, but a very animalistic face and features that made it a little hard to navigate without damaging the plants. Yet somehow, this boy pulled it off, walking around carefully and minding the hanging plants.
"Oh, hello there!" he greeted the other boy pleasantly, having just walked over to investigate the very same plants. "Nice ones these are aren't they?"

Moose. Instantly the one word came to mind and Ashton found himself starring at the other teen for a long moment before he finally remembered that blinking was a good thing to do. His lips turned up into a smile as he nodded, "They are really nice." He agreed and seemed to be searching his mind. Hadn't he run across this boy briefly when he was younger? He couldn't recall much more then the fact that they were at the pool and it had struck him then and now as amusing seeing a moose swimming.
"I am rather fond of plants like these and any others as well." His father's friend was a man in charge of a rather nice flower shop and it was due to his influence that he was so in love with the idea of raising plants. The only kind he wasn't a fan of were the sorts that left you itchy, those ones he was happy to keep as far from his little garden that he had started at home.

Phineas didn't seem to completely recall the other boy, but that was partly because there were just so many people he'd met in his life and partly just because it'd been a while. This didn't deter him from the conversation at all, however, and Phineas nodded, "Plants are pretty nice. I came to see about getting some for the garden around my new home. We're moving and my sisters really want something pretty around the house." he laughed at that. The girls did really rule his home with an iron fist.
"What are you looking for? Or are you just looking around because you like them?" a legitimate reason, after all.

"Can't say that I know exactly what I am looking for yet. I just know that I am looking for whatever 'calls out to me' as I plan to put that in my garden." He said, while he couldn't actually hear the voices of plants calling out to him he would know the ones he wanted when he saw them. Ashton was glad to find that there was another his age, a boy at that, who was interested in gardening like he was. That alone seemed to put the mushroom boy into that much better of a mood if that were possible since at when it came to his father the man could care less about plants, not even eating bothering with eating them unless they were on a pizza.
"Anything you recommend?" He asked of the other boy as he looked from side to side at the nearby plants, to see if he saw anything that he felt would look nice in his garden at home.

"Hey, whatever floats your boat." Phineas assured him, looking around the area with a warm smile and taking in the sights and scents.
At Ashton's question, he seemed to consider the matter for a time. "Well, where exactly did you intend to put the garden? Is it up against a wall, out in the open, what? What sort of other plants do you have in it?"

"Its in the corner of the yard, it has a square plot that is for the open flowers and one area set up against the corner of the fence for the climbing sort as well." He explained, a corner of yard being all that he could talk his father into allowing him to have, "I have a few plants inside as well but they are allowed only in my room." Despite the fact that they would liven up the house a bit it would see Crevan wasn't interested in living in a green house or so he'd said.
"I have morning glory and moon flowers as my climbing flowers, in the plot itself there are some peonies to one side, a rose bush in the middle, and some empty space in need of other things." He said, knowing that it was rather random but he'd picked things that looked nice and smelled nice, "If I were allowed more space to work with I think a vegetable garden would be nice." It would likely save money as well but he didn't want to argue with his father any time soon over such things. It just seemed like it would be easier to argue his point with a wall.
