Lila smiled, "Thank you." She loved it when people liked her cooking.
Eve tried to understand Cookie, she could make some of her meaning by her tone. The little girl spoke with her between bites of the food.
Ivy made a mental note to see if Eve could learn to understand Chimera kitten.

The group chatted back and forth animatedly over dinner till everyone had finished and it was time for cake. Lam grinned, "Need a hand slicing it?" she inquired.
Cookie, meanwhile, didn't seem to have realized there would be more so after cleaning her plate, she just went back to talking fully to Eve.

Eve didn't know about the cake, but she only knew Lila made dessert when they had guests or it was a special day.
Lila smiled, "I can handle it, but I think the kids need a refill of juice. Thank you for offering though."
Ivy got the pitcher of juice from the fridge to refill the cups for Eve and Cookie.

Cookie mewed happily, nuzzling up to Ivy's side as her juice was refilled. This was so nice! Getting to see her friend, have yummy food, and lots of juice! Hell, she'd even gotten to meet another kitten and get a pretty picture! This was the best visit ever!

Lila picked up two plates and carried them over to the toddlers, "There you two, dessert." Lila was planning on heading to bed soon and would leave washing the dishes and clean up to Ivy. She did leave two plates with a piece for Lam and Ivy with a covered container, holding two pieces of cake for Lam's family.
Eve thanked her mother for the refill and Ivy chuckled and petted Cookie, "Enjoy." Ivy walked away to eat in the kitchen.

Cookie looked delighted as she reached out for her cake piece. Looking over at Eve, she mewed around the first bite and seemed intent to bounce a little in her seat. Immediately, Lam reached out to hold her tail down.
"No Cookie - no boing boing inside." she told her firmly before taking her cake to follow Ivy. "She's got a hard time controlling her bouncing." she explained to the other woman.

Eve watched as she figured what Cookie' gift was. Bouncing. "I have an ability too, creeping ivy, at least that's my mommy calls it."
Ivy leaned against the counter in the kitchen, taking a few bites of the cake. "Eve's ability makes ivy grow and make others feel her pain, bouncing is an interesting gift."

Cookie blinked, not quite sure what 'ivy' was besides Eve's mom's name. Still, it sounded cool so she cheered a little!
"Oh it's not so much the BOUNCING as much as when she gets two in she starts zooming around the room like a chimera missile." Lam laughed.

Eve didn't quite understand her own gift, but she only knew that she was really upset when the gift showed.
Ivy chuckled, "Beats feeling every bit of pain your child has felt. Though a chimera missile would be an interesting thing to see.

"Not when I have to keep her on a leash so she doesn't go traveling on her own in the middle of the night or get lost out at sea. Cookie can't quite steer very well, if at all." Lam explained.
The evening went on in that pleasant fashion, but before too long it was time for Cookie and Lam to go home. The girl hugged her friend, purring in thanks for the gift and the invitation, and her mother happily thanked Ivy for the nice time and the cake.
