I totally used an Alestorm quote in it. I am writing a paper about Bret Harte's Western regional writing and discussing how it glorifies a past of boorishness, vugarity, savagry, and brutality. (All of which are incredibly historically inaccurate)

At the end of my paragraph of comparing The Luck of Roaring Camp to a criticism of the Nativity story I totally wrote:
Harte characterizes, immortalizes, and glorifies the West to be a place of debauchery, violence, and sin.

LOL, YES!

At least its a good quote from one of their better songs that they wrote when they were Battleheart. I enjoyed their sound better then.

I'm not saying I didn't enjoy them, but Nancy the Tavern Wench and Wenches & Mead were better in my opinion before the album came out/got the new sound by adding in the 'new' guitarist. Their sound is a lot more full now, but less folky than it used to be.

Hollow, this is almost what I did during my after-high-school exams (when these still were more demanding than simple tests they have now). So, the Polish exam (which is supposed to be about everything including literature, grammar, writing skills, you name it) was then to write an essay. Or more like a longer thing close to a research paper.

Should I remember more about real poems (never really liked poetry), I'd use some metal to interpret it together with those poems.

I like it better than when they were Battleheart. They aren't half as cheesy then as they are now. There is still enough cheese or "folk" in it, to get the crowd going, but enough strength so that it isn't overpoweringly power metal.

I'm afraid I don't care for Alestorm at all.

In the same vein, but Orphaned Land:

"The land was corrupt before God,
and the land was filled with violence."

Indeed. I haven't bothered with Alestorm's newest album, CMR was enough for me.

I haven't gotten it yet either. They still predominately play songs off of CMV live anyway. HAHA.
