Otakon! It's in Baltimore, and it's actually a pretty huge convention. Gaia's going to be there, even! Heavensdark and I have spontaneously decided that we're going to go to Otakon on Saturday the 31st!
Is anyone else thinking of going to this? It's my first time going and we're going to just go down for the day, and it's a 3 1/2 hour drive each way. JUST enough for me willing to actually do the drive. xD
I don't know if I'm going to wear my cosplay to Otakon. I might just make a shirt that says "will yaoi for $$$" for massive funtimes.

Well, first off- I don't feel like stealing pictures from facebook.

Three people recognized my costume, which TOTALLY made it worth it! I found out that he actually has a white strip down his sleeves? My friend and I totally thought it was just glare in a certain drawing... but no we just totally overlooked part of it. BUT whatever. Maybe we'll fix that for Otakon?
I bought: A paper wallet, The first 4 episode of Evangelion, A poster of pokemon playing cards, two t-shirts, a "stubborn sub" manbadge, a Japanese kitkat, a hobopheonix bookmark, and a cubone sprite pin. AND MY FAVORITE? AN ANIME PORTRAIT THAT I LOVE.
It was lots of fun. Danced at the rave for 2 1/2 hours.... good times. There was an incident with this one creeper from the internet that I avoided with a passion on the day he was there, but it all went smoothly. We didn't have that many panels we wanted to go to this year, so we had a lot of downtime.
I got no consex or conaction. BUT I had a really really good time and we're thinking of getting a hotel room next year. (What does that mean? It means ******** booze time. Also- that we can house illegal immigrants/friends)
I probably should have said something about this convention earlier- because then people that are interested could have gotten a discount for preregistration, but I've really been putting this off.
AnimeNEXT is an Anime convention in Somerset, New Jersey (Only like 10-15 minutes from where I live). It used to be in Seacaucus, NJ- but that place smells like piss and meth so they moved the convention farther from Hell. It's not as big as Otakon (which I've always really wanted to go to, but it's so far and so much money) but it's really growing! In the 5 years that I've been, they've REALLY been expanding rapidly. If you check out the site, they have a lot of stuff listed and their dealers rooms and artists alleys are HUUGGGGEEEE. They also have some gaming areas, BUT those smell like Seacaucus- so be warned.
It's 47 bucks if you register for the whole weekend online, and even more if you wait and register at the doors. It's a really fun time- and this year I'll actually be cosplaying!
I'm going to dress up as Kyle Hyde from Hotel Dusk: Room 215. (and if any of the hotels have a room 215? PHOTO OP!) Amanda (Heavensdark) is going to dress up as Daria, and her boyfriend Bobby is going to dress up as Light from Deathnote. Our friend Adam is going to be the engineer from TF2. And HIS girlfriend doesn't know what she's cosplaying as- So we're going to be a random bunch, and it would be cool if any of you guys came and we could meet up for abit!
After the convention I'll probably upload photos here of the funtimes. Or just direct your asses to facebook.
